[Q]TV-OUT - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I thought HTC released the Dinc's source code long ago? Why hasn't this enabled developers to incorporate TV-Out in AOSP rom's?

It has. Some roms have it if I'm not mistaken.

I don't believe any aosp roms do, just roms built off sense

Aosp roms don't have the framework required to have tv-out..... incredible based roms and I think desire z roms are the only ones I know of that support it....

Mine has it, I'm running warm z two point two... just wrapped up Jersey Shore actually on a 36 inch

Not to sound like a Richard, but that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. The OP's asking about tv-out on AOSP roms. The presence of it on a Desire Z based rom is irrelevant.

Crap, sorry about that.

Warm z has tvout because its sense based. I know we probably wont see it since the incredible is quickly moving out of the spotlight. But I'm curious why we can't get it to work when evo dev were able to. What is it about the framework? Drivers?

[Q] Thunderbolt ROM for Incredible?

Is there a HTC Thunderbolt ROM for the Dinc?
You posted in the wrong section this should be in Q/A or General. That way your likely to get an answer. (The answer is no btw.)

Pretty sure incdoes had a port posted in the dev section. Idk if the link is good or not though.
EDIT: There actually isn't a link, it just says uploading... Never mind lol.

As of right now, no.
I'm currently working on a port, which is taking a while because I've never attempted it before. All I need to do at this point is build the new boot.img and pray to jeebus it boots.
I'm hoping to be able to release it by the Thunderbolt launch date... But I'm not going to make any promises.
I'm a rom-whore, and I'm damn proud of it.

Actually, there would be a ton of benefits to a Thunderbolt rom... Namely the CDMA base of the rom, as opposed to the GSM nature of a Desire Z rom. This would fix phantom calls, and probably optimize battery life overall. I'm no porting expert, but with even these few subtle changes, it would impact much if the rom's functionality.

I rly wanted incdoes port but couldn't get it

You are correct. Good luck with the port.
Incubus got the Inc S up and running. Few thing still not working, but he had is bootable in less than 24 hours. Check it out.

rom community slow

Whatsup with the Rom community..it seems really slow the past month or so..I haven't seen one Rom updated except for miui?? Sorry if this has been asked already.
Warm Z got released a week or two ago, and I think MikZ 1.0 just got released today. The new Sense 2.0 is nice, but it took a little while to grow on me.

Don't mean to sound like an arse, but I'm sure the developers have "real" jobs and develop ROMS and mods as a hobby. As flashoholics, our appetites are insatiable but there are plenty of ROMS (at least for the EVO) and tweaks to feed the beast until something new comes out. Speaking of new, mik released his z port today. Take it for a spin.
That's because there's already millions of roms that are pretty much the same (especially sense) just with diff tweaks. Devs beat the dead horse and we should see more once the new sense leaks or officially hits the deck for our evo. As aosp goes have fun with cm7 I'm a sense kind of guy.

Jesus Christ, slow? Erm, lesse,
CM7 just got WiMAX, and is about to get HDMI
Warm-Z was released
Honeycomb, Gingerbread, and Sense 2.0 ports are in the works
UltimateDroid is still UltimateKanging
The Development forum is the most active out of all the EVO forums
Not sure if OP is troll, or just incompetent...

First off i had hdmi(normal) and 4g when my evo released so thats nothing new. Its active but as far as SENSE goes all if not most 2.2 roms are still plagued w/ the same bugs. Most roms out there are the same just themed or diff tweaks. I agree it has been slow cause the same 2.2 base is all they have. When it comes to aosp, we all know Google/cyan takes care of biz and stays on top pushing out constant updates for their star children( nexus 1 and s). When a new sense rom pops up I'm like ehh another rom diff tweaks. The z beta builds are cool but lets see the real magic when sprint/HTC gives us 2.3 android/sense update.

Too bad.... No kernel source, Pure Sense vs Expresso, GB vs Froyo, different camera libraries (8 mega vs 5 mega, with additional processing for instant on)... Who ever ports this will be just like all the other crappy ports of Sense 2.1 we have all over the forums... you will have weird bugs, weird crashes, things don't work right etc etc... Once a real kernel source is released, then we can talk about a real port....

correct it is new 3.0, plus w/o kernel source, keep in mind that this ROM is designed for dual-core MSM8260 chipset, so im sure itll be a little fun to play with and try and get working
I've had no problems at all with the sense 2.1 port I'm running
a few things don't work right, but they're pretty minor for most people
So now that there is a dump what else is needed for a port

I remember they said the same thing about the original sense running on the G1/MT3G, but. It did, although it was more of a space issue than chip issue. Besides Gingerbread doesn't even support dual core, a couple games might, but the OS itself doesn't. That won't happen until ice cream.
Of course without the kernel source there are gonna be bugs. Cams won't work, funny wifi and Bluetooth. The usual stuff. But it will be fun to play with.

[Q] Any interest in Synergy on the Dinc2

I am 4 days into the Dinc2 and am enjoying it so far as I am sad to say a former DX2 owner. I have worked on HTC's before and always find Synergy Rom's in the forums. I am not seeing it here like in the Dinc forum's or Evo forum's. I am curious if anyone knows if we will see something here for Synergy or no? I liked it on the Evo but it wasn't my phone so I didn't get to play with it to long. Any heads up would be great Thanx!

I am not sure on a synergy release mainly due to the ICS releases coming out. There a lot of devs in our community so it could spark interest.
If you are a fan of synergy I recommend any of nitsujs work. Also over on mikmik newts roms are killer.

That is kind of what I was thinking was holding up some roms I am used to seeing I am running nitsujs TSM Sense M EXT4 5.0.1 with the 3.0 sense patch.
I am far from new to modding but I don't want to run right to the ICS builds just yet I want to explore all the Roms for the Dinc2. I also know I like MikMik Roms as well. Coming of the fascinate and DX2 CyanogenMod builds it's kind of fun to have more build and rom diversity to flash away like an addict haha.

Completely agree. I started with the nexus one. (More than enough Rom variations lol). To the Sony X10 with very few different rom choices. To the Inc2 where we have everything from stock to cm9 and sense 4.
Check out mikrunny, inchd 1.1 (mikmik), nits trinity (full sense 3.0), nits bullet mt4g port, and of course your aosp.
A lot of people run skyraider (teambamf) and mikrunny. Although like stated before the ICS builds are near fully functional.

Ics Sense 4 fanatics club.... c'mon guys

Hello all, lets discuss your feelings, emotions, confusions:what:, predictions, fears, jubilation etc etc about the upcoming release of ics sense 4 for desire HERE, in THIS thread, and leave the dev threads for logcats, tweak scripts and bug fixes..... desire has a few devs left, try to keep them here.....
Regards
Fellow desire user.

Great idea ....
I never really got into Sense, as I quickly rooted my phone and went with a CM type of ROM - and now using BCM9 3.3.1
However, my wife like Sense on her Desire ... so I am keen to see v4, as this seems to have been stripped back a bit from the bloated GB version.
I originally chipped in towards Shaky's Desire so that he can get on with Dev'ing for it.
Hopefully it comes soon.

Lol.
Deal. If this means this is the last of useless Sense 4/ics thread, fine by me.
But you violate the deal, I guess we normal who don't want our phones be partially stable have the right to pull the big guns out? Or keep them that way.

Its actually awesome to have ics on our old desires...am satisfied with that...but to have ics sense...I can't imagine how superb it will be...great work devs..

Your choice, everyones got the right of having opinion... I personally love miui and sense roms although they have always been a little laggy for me later on [gb ics both].... cm7, oxygen etc have been super fast, but they lack the special elegance, beauty, whatever you call it....sense n miui, they LOOK good.... sense has the elegance, miui too.....cm7 has millions feature tweaks themes, but always keeps missing something.. oxygen is too barebones, and I hate the stock apps on it, almost always replaced with apps from store....

Anyone know - informed guess or not - weather, with the inclusion of Sense framework this will mean 720p video recording will be possible/ported with this rom? If so, perfect!
what???
@bingley
no one KNOWS that....
you get what you get.... i doubt whether devs will put that much effort into stuff like 720p recording, or 2way call-rec**8 watever that is, etc etc....... Even if they make a fully functional port will be more then enough for most of us..... i doubt usb tether will be not there and vid cam might give trouble just like ics stock.. otherwise the same functions wud be possible....
I don't know about the general opinion, but for me 2 way call record is a dealbreaker.

Yes, I'm aware of that. I provided the reason for me not even considering ics, not to mention tons of bugs and lag.
There recently were some Chinese Desires released with specs similar to our desire what proved our desire can run ICS Sense 4 romantic smoothly. Sense 4 nice. Would like to try it on my phone.

Once I tried ICS is hard to go back... unless I'm putting stability above everything else, which I am.
But I'm patiently waiting till ICS sees stability and smoothness, then I might reconsider it
And I believe it can be such a smooth experience and fast, not much diference from GB roms, after all, desire has a pretty good specs.
I think I heard people say Sense 4 is less mem hungry than sense 3.6 anyway
