craigslist - where are the wp7's ? - Windows Phone 7 General

the g1 showed up less than a month after launch, iphones the day after, palm pres in a week or so.... but where are the wp7 phones ?
I figured a cracked screen or otherwise damaged device would pop up for $50 and id get it to play with, but wp7 is a no show. are you seeing them in your local ?

I saw one in Hartford, CT $325. I bought my htc surround new for $0.01 (yes, with 2 yr. contract and data plan).

A lot less people bought them, so a lot less people are selling them.
Blackberries aren't that common here, either, for the same reason. Unless business mandates it, not too many people are buying them.
There are tons of iPhones and Androids listed, though.

Mine sold in about a week, I got multiple inquiries kicking myself for selling it too low. I didn't think there was going to be any demand for it.

they're not on craigslist because everyone likes it and wants to keep them!

yeppers, i have iphones, 3, 3gs, 4, like mad... and android devices everywhere for cheap. i figured if i saw any wp7 devices they would be high, but heck there aren't any. blackberrys are still prevelant here too.
the one and only ad for a wp7 device was an african scam, so i guess -they- know about them ;-)

All the wp7 devices I Am seeing are 300+. Mostly resellers. Found one hd7 with cracked screen, guy wanted 150.00 for it. Offered 100, but he managed to get 150.

High demand for second hand Rhodiums?

Hello all,
I have my Rhodium(vodaphone TP2, unlocked with stuff) up for sale in the marketplace as I am rocking a HD2 now:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=670836
It is waiting for a good offer:
I have had people offering me silly cash for this nearly mint device (£100???)
Now I am thinking, is it really worth so little?
Most of the Rhodiums up 4 sale are in the US and around $300. I guess that we have too many phones in the UK available on a free contract.
I want £150 at least for it and need to get rid of it asap.....
Has anyone bought one recently in UK? What did you pay for it?
Is there any hope I might get some cash back on this now unloved device?
Kind regards all //
The HTC Desire has really killed sales of previous generation phones and the inexperienced/new user is now wowed by Android or Iphones.
Many people are also wary of buying second hand phones as one person's description of 'mint' may not be another person's idea (not saying anything at all about your advert here BTW, this is just a general point).
Many people are also frightened by scare stories of buying second hand phones
Branded phones can be a 'put-off' too even though they are only really cosmetic issues (although some people may worry about unlocking etc. and be concerned that it may not work with their sim when it arrives and then can't return it)
The rhodium is a super device, but there is only a very small market for them as only the smallest percentage of the phone buying public is even aware of the phone and then when added to the points above, I am not surprised that you are getting low offers, but I can also understand how disappointing this would be for a seller.
I went through something similar when selling my touch HD as I wanted it to go to someone who would love it as much as I did!
I think you have 2 options here;
Wait for someone who is looking for a rhodium and you can meet up in person (thus negating all the general points above)
Flog it to somewhere like CEX who might give you a decent (ish) price for it;
http://www.cex.co.uk/products/Phone... Touch Pro2, Vodafone Good Condition&mode=buy
Shame you are in London though, as I would have taken a look at this if you had been nearer to sunny Gloucestershire
Best of luck with your sale
Spud
i haven't looked into the prices for a used touch pro 2 but whenever I try to sell something online, i always get "low-ballers" THey email you some excuse that they're a student, just lost their job, just had a baby, etc and are tight on cash and want to only pay a quarter of the price i'm asking.
Its just the way things are, if you need to sell it asap, maybe lower the price a bit, but if i were you, i'd stay firm on your asking price until someone that has the money and knows the value of the device goes ahead an purchases it.

Orange choices

I can't be the only person facing this choice...
I need to replace my aging HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) as my contract expires the end of this month.
I have the choice of the Omnia 7 and HTC Mozart.
I was originaly leaning towards the Mozart but having seen a few reviews now the Omnia seems to be a possibly better bet.
There are conflicting opinions of the camera on the Mozart, some say it's great others saying it's not as good as the Omnia's 5MP job.
The screen does look beautiful on the Omnia but I just don't know. Maybe people having the same dilema as me or those who have made the choice already could add their opinions to aid me and possibly others!
Many thanks!
I had the same dilemna yesterday. My Touch Pro 2 broke and my phone insurance offered to try and get a replacement or offer me the cash (£360!!).
I looked at the Mozart and the Omnia and have opted for the Mozart. Spec wise they seem very similar, but I think the Mozart seems a bit sturdier. It is arriving on Tuesday!
Definitely go for the Mozart. The Galaxy S left a bad taste in my mouth. HTC build quality > Samsung build quality.
I like the Samsung built phones but HTC built phones are also good.
I would just look at the specs / battery life / display / extras etc.
That way you can find one that suits your needs.
The Samsung looks better, especially because the display blends well into the phone frame.
However considering how text and contrast heavy the WP7 UI is, the Pentile pattern in AMOLED isn't exactly optimal for sharpness. At least I can make the color fringing on texts as well as the gritty Pentile pattern in images out rather well (I guess having not yet bad eyes helps). Right now I have a Nexus and can make things out, a larger display will worsen it for me personally.
So I'm making the compromise and go for a HTC device with SLCD (Trophy tho, not the Mozart).
Also, in the end, the hit on the battery will be generally less, seeing how browsing is a major activity, and that most websites have white or bright backgrounds, without AMOLEDs power draw in play. Samsung has a bigger battery tho.
I went for the Mozart as the Omnia's screen is a little too large for me. It's due for delivery Monday but I won't get it until Tuesday or Wednesday as I'm not at my Billing Address.
Thanks for the input.
One of the concerns I had was regarding the build quality of the Samsung model since it hasn't really been their strong point on previous handsets.
I read different opinions on the casing of the Omnia 7, mostly saying it is much improved.
I got the Omnia 7 from Orange yesterday build quality is good and the screen is awsome... Free on 18 month contract £35 per month.... So will have the option to upgrade again Jan 2012 (after 15 months)........ Had no crashes so far!!

A question regarding the camera on the Omnia. Reviews have stated the flash is overpowering and not that useful. However I assume since it's LED it means that it can be turned on costantly for use on video recording and could double up as a torch.. something the Mozart with a xenon cannot do?
Thanks
I'm in exactly the same boat. I've been holding off upgrading for 4 months now to see how WP7 pans out. Would like to stay with Orange but this isn't a requirement.
I wanted to ask, has anyone actually tried the phones out before buying? Are the phones in the shops yet? I haven't got down to one yet (my second son was born yesterday, so I have a good excuse), so don't know. I don't think I'd want to commit to 18 months (at least) without trying the hardware out first.
And of course, there's always the HD2, sorry HD7 on O2. Like a mini-tablet, only fits in your pocket, unlike a Streak. I'll need to try this one out too.
Having spoken to Orange they aren't offering particularly good options with regards to renewing so I did look around. However what I was offered is still better than O2 will do so the HD7 was out for me.
The LG on Vodafone didn't really inspire me nor did the Trophy.
I wish the Venue Pro (Lightning was such a better name) was offered on a carrier.
I'm heading into town tomorrow so was going to ring up my local Orange shop to see if they had either handsets in stock so that i could have a play with them.
Another thing I was curious about that had been raised in other posts was if the Omnia had Gorilla glass as with the Galaxy. That would be a real plus point for me as i do worry about having such a big screen after managing to crack my Touch HD even though i treat my phones with great care.

Been with Orange for what seems like a life time and like you I'm also out of contract and looking for a suitable replacement. I actually jumped ship and went to o2 (for the best part of a day). I got the HD7 for £45 a month on a 24 month contract which includes insurance. I had to pay £49 for the handset though but to be honest I really didn't feel comfortable leaving Orange were I was paying £35 a month (which includes insurance) for less minutes...
Again being totally honest, the HD7 is a beast of a phone. Compared to my Blackstone (which I've flashed the hell out of) the HD7 is just stunning. The large screen and handset quality easily gives you bragging rights ahead of any phone. It just seemed to work out of the box but strangely enough, something just didn't feel right. Maybe it was the big screen that I used to drool over. Maybe it was the fact I had to leave Orange. Maybe it was the fact that I couldn't flash my phone no more. I just don't know. Because of these reservations, I reluctantly returned the phone (still in shock I did this). I've decided to give WP7 another chance and I have ordered the Samsung Omnia7 on Orange, which is free of charge on a 18 month contract for £35 a month, 600min and unlimited internet. The phone arrives on Monday and I will certainly give it a good try. The reviews I’ve read are encouraging so I’m keeping an open mind. If I still have any doubts about the phone, I’ll return it and wait for the Desire HD on Orange.
For me the jury is still out for WP7. Don't get me wrong, it very user friendly and intuitive, however my only concern is that the operating system has been completely locked down like the Iphone. Simple tasks like syncing with outlook and mass storage access through explorer is a thing of the past. For me, it’s a change of mindset. I’m cool with this but old habits die hard.
Can I just say to everyone considering a trophy...
Please go and check it out with your Hands!
It's a piece of plastic junk after seeing it in a vodafone store... it's definitely the super budget WP7...
Also take note the screens on Trophy and Mozart are different, the Mozart's being 0.1" less but a much better quality display to my eye!
Just talk with Orange, they are doing great deals on the Mozart, please get that instead of a trophy!
Also if you want OLED, Omnia 7 has a metal wrapped back... it's quite solid, there's no creaks! It's sexy.
Yeah even HTC says the HTC Trophy is their bottom of the line "budget" WP7 device. Not saying it's bad, just that it's meant to be the budget phone.

Because MS told them not to, they're strict. And that's good for us.. we all know how Sammy screwed up galaxy s (maybe they'll fix it now - in november rls..NOT)
went into my local Orange shop today.
They don't have any Mozarts in and won't for a few days. They don't know when the Omnia is coming in and said only a limited number are available in the country.
So no new insights gained! I may just plump for the Omnia and if i don't like it i can return it for the Mozart.
What's the price difference between the Mozart and the Trophy... if its a budget wp7 phone?

Orange don't have the Trophy at the moment it's on Vodafone.
I have a leaflet here from Vodafone store:
FREE HTC 7 Trophy
- 300 minutes
- Unlimited standard UK Texts
- 500MB of UK Web access
£25 a month on a 24-month agreement
Same tariff on Orange
HTC Mozart
- 300 minutes
- Unlimited standard UK Texts
- 500MB UK Web Access
£25 a month on a 24-month agreement
Plus £100 handset cost.
(Or free on a more expensive tariff)
£100 over 2 years remember is £4.17 a month
I'm on the verge of ordering the Omnia I think.
Looking at reviews the camera picture quality seems better on the Omnia than the Mozart, likely due to Samsung having better camera hardware than HTC. I know the camera on my HD is attrocious.
It's so difficult to decide as there is so little between the launch hardware. I like HTC as a company as my Blackstone has been superb, just there is nothing stand out on the Mozart for me really...
Gutted that the Orange stores didn't have any in to play with though. In the past there have been clear choices, such as the Touch HD vs Xperia X1 was any easy decision for me.

verizon and their lack of WP7 commitment

I am using the HTC trophy on Verizon. I went in to my local store and was asking about a charging cord (39.95 please), and i kid you not, the sales rep tried to get me to upgrade to an android phone. Im happy with my WP7, and have had android and didnt like it. So after telling the guy that i didnt need a new phone, i left. Now what upsets me is verizons lack of commitment to this OS. people want it, i want it, yet they only give you one phone (HTC trophy) with very low specs. My brother in law works for go wireless and his boss refuses to stock any WP& devices. And go wireless is essentially verizon. Thats is the companies stance on the OS. "no, no one wants that. Here, take one of these 45 android phones. They are way better. why? because they are android". Im so ****ing sick of all this verizon android basket. I dont want to switch to ATT to get a good device, but its making it look more and more probable with each passing day that verizon shafts the WP7 people. I know the kins didnt do so well, but thats verizons fault for requiring a data plan on a dumb phone. Point of my rant is this: i want something other than this trophy on verizon, yet they are making it so difficult to stay with them due to their constant hard on for android and their brief love affair with IOS. Another reason not to switch is i was grandfathered in to the unlimited data plan. Why must you make it so hard for me verizon!? I hate you, yet love your cell reception and unlimited data. Get more CDMA WP7 phones. How hard would it be to get that fujitsu number over here? not that hard i would assume. I would pay cash for that in a heart beat. Much like how i paid 400 some odd bucks the day the trophy came out for verizon.
/end rant
Amen, I feel the same way, if nothing is at least announced for Verizon by the end of 2011 I'll probably be going to AT&T because their phone line-up is better. It's a pity because I do like Verizon's service.
I'm not even asking for a new phone this year, I just want an announcement of a new phone. They're releasing so many Android phones per year, and they can't announce a new wp7 phone after half a year or so, it's kind of BS.
I emailed one of the higher ups at VW regarding this. I got an email and a call back from his assistant regarding my frustrations. Supposedly there will be new WP devices coming, but they wouldn't give a time frame.
Rumor on the net through a couple Nokia sites say that Verizon will be getting a high end Nokia WP, while AT&Crap and T-Mobile will be getting mid tier devices. I'm personally over HTC's battery life issues so I'm optimistic something better will be coming so I can finally make the switch from Android.
Do yourself a favour, if you see what you like on another carrier (at&t, Titan, Focus S, Focus Flash), check out the coverage and prices as best you can and if everything looks ok switch! Why sit around on a carrier that doesnt give you what you want, whether it be CS, coverage or the device you desire? Buy a prepaid phone, use it to confirm you will have coverage and if its a go make sure to tell vzw just why you are switching. Spread the word about your experience, and maybe in 10 years time they will pull their heads out of google's butt!!
That's probably because Verizon is Google's favorite carrier and gets more from Google than other carrieres do, just like Motorola will now be favored over other OEMs.
the deathstars cell service is awful where I live. Calls are always dropped, and the data plan is horrendous. If it weren't for those two things, I would have switched long ago. The only thing really keeping me with big red is the aforementioned unlimited data.

Regardless of what platform he personally prefers, in the end, he wants to make money, and he wants you to upgrade right then and there, and there isn't another WP7 device for him to offer you... what else is he supposed to do? lol
As a sales rep myself, I would attempt to figure out what you want, and get you the device that suits you the best. I'm no Android fan, but if I find out that you like Android, there is little reason for me to try and get you to buy into a completely different platform, no matter how awesome it is. Since you have the only WP7 device on Verizon, there isn't much else he could have done except tell you to buy into a different platform.
But the general idea of your topic, I understand, and its most certainly saddening to see how the market treats underdogs (not only Verizon). Though, I think you'll find that once the dollar signs start shifting toward WP7, the tune of most sales reps will also shift. They go where the money goes.
But when the rep tells me WP7 sucks like its fact and not opinion, that's when I tune out. And its sad because I feel that his behavior reflects on veizons opinion of WP7 in general besides, how are you gonna make tons of cash on a phone OS when you only have one model that supports it? Of course your gonna make a boatload of money if you have 19 phones that all have android on them
Sent from my mwp6985 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
I agree in general that VZW has little to no interest or support for WP7 and hopefully this changes with time as I too have little choice for good reception and am grandfathered on the unlimited data.
Google, Motorola, and Verzon are The Three Stooges. I'm suprised so many people here seem to have missed that...

Blame yourself for the setup....going to the oem for charging solutions is a setup for fail.
Expecting a salesperson to backup an all but discontinued device (because you like it) is a second setup to fail.
Continuing to support that company month to month is the third setup for fail.
Vote with your money, and enjoy the device you want instead = win ?
Seems like the fowl taste WM and the Kin left in VWs mouth hasn't left pitty.
Sent from my SGH-i917 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
...then Verizon should've been smart and got the HD2 instead of the Kin !
Ok ohgood, let me clarify a few things:
1. I was looking at charging cables. Its not like I ran in, brow sweaty demanding a cable and willing to pay any price.
2.funny how a device that's Been out since early summer is considered "discontinued". Only reason it is could be because VZW deemed it so. Way to give it a chance.
3.maybe you should read why I'm sticking with VZW (great cell service and grandfathered into unlimited data). I'm sure I mentioned it above. Let me check...yep. I did.
So it's hard to vote with ones wallet when my other choice is a cell carrier that drops calls or gets no service in my area all together. Heaven forbid I would like to get a phone that isn't based on specs from a year ago. So, my point still stands. Google might as well buy VZW so they can just outright say "all android, all the time"

Oh and to add a point, I wasn't seeking an upgrade. I was just browsing, curious about data cables or whathaveyou, and when making small talk, he saw the phone and started off on "the facts" about why WP7 is awful. So he wasn't trying to find my needs. And I get they follow the money, but as I previously stated, of course your gonna make more money on an OS that has a carrier branded tv and radio spot, not to mention the wall sized posters of android phones in store. Yet every vzw store I've been to had the trophy for 2 weeks in a corner of the store where no one would see it. /end rebuttal

Yes, I read that about lack of quality cellular service, its familiar to me. He's just using sales tactics that usually work for him, or possibly pointing out reasons other customers have cited for moving to iphone4. Prolly gets him a contract renewal or sale 9/10.
Thing is, no matter how uninterested you are in their hardware choices, you're supporting them month to month.

You're a good sales rep. Honestly. My last experience with a rep at a VW store went more or less as follows. I walk into the store just to look around because I had time to kill. The rep walks up and asks me what phone I have. I tell him a Focus and that I am on AT&T and am not interested in buying anything, I was just browsing. He proceeds to tell me that my phone's OS isn't any good, and that AT&T sucks (I can't really argue very much with that, though) -- I should switch to VW and get a Droid because they are the best phones available on the market. I asked him if he had ever used a WP7 -- he hadn't, of course. That conversation ended right there and I asked him to show me a Moto Xoom, which is another story.

Did anyone buy a new HTC Titan on ATT today 11/20

Does anyone want to post up some first impressions on their ATT titans!?
My local store didn't receive any. And from reading elsewhere online, a LOT of stores didn't receive them. Many are saying they're expecting them tomorrow (Monday) or later. A lot of stores didn't even know what it was.
None to be found in Central Florida.Same story , the store reps don't have a clue about anything. Very dissapointed
None of my local stores (Louisville, KY) received them.
I checked two stores, one told me that there was a problem with the shipping, and it wouldn't be until Monday, the other had no idea what I was talking about. Both had to look in their systems to know what the phone was. Very disappointing experience. Not so much that the phone was delayed, but in the absolute lack of knowledge of the phone itself.
I've been reading all over the same, which is bad because at&t is an official launch partner....
I got the only one in Gainesville, FL on Sunday. The rep who sold it to me was really great and positive about Windows Phone. I hope he has a week free of jerk customers. Also between the two stores I went to and three people I talked to, everyone knew what the Titan was immediately.
4.7". Hmmm...if the size keeps increasing, forget about pocket carrying, down the line there will be accessories such as trailers for hauling it around.
This reminds me of the Schick vs. Gillette rivalry. One comes out with 2 blade razors, the other, 3 blades. Then the first one puts out one with 4 blades. Now the other puts out 5 blades. Eventually the razor head will be so big it will require an exoskeleton suit to use it.

Bah they have been shrinking, I've still have an HTC Advantage laying around and taking up a ton of space.
I live in Bellingham, Wa. and the Titan wasn't at my local AT&T store on it's release day either. When I went into the store and inquired about the Titan, the salesman had no idea what I was talking about. He didn't know that the phone existed until he went on the web. It's pretty pathetic. These guys/gals are supposed to be PHONE salesmen, but whenever I go into an ATT store I feel that they are Android/Apple reps in AT&T uniforms. When you ask about a Windows phone, they always give you a look like "Seriously, why do you want a Windows Phone?" and will try to persuade you to go either Apple or Android. They all claim that they've had multiple phones including Windows 7 phones, but it's obvious that they haven't. I know this because they never take you to a Windows phone to show off it's strengths. They just talk, talk, talk, about Android's customization abilities OR how Apple originated this and that, and how Android copied. I don't need their help to decide because I do a lot of research before making a phone purchase. Just give me the phone so I can go explore my Titan!!!
I went to look at it yesterday at my local store. The store manager knew exactly what I was asking about but told me that the shipment was delayed until Monday (today). So, I stopped by on my way in to work and get a good look at and feel of the Titan.
IMO, too big and too unoriginal. It just looks like a larger Inspire to me. Now, we all know that style is a personal thing, and not something that can be stated as fact. Unless we talk about the Pontiac Aztec, which is universally ugly. I will keep my Focus S(I know it looks just like the Galaxy S II, but I like it better!).

Some people are compelled to buy ugly things. Strange how it is but it seems to be a reverse psychology thing. A beautiful product from the beginning tends to become old and tired looking in a few years while a strange looking product tends to hold some form of interest much longer. A genuinely ugly product, like the Aztec or the Buick counterpart for example, will remain ugly.

why are WP7 so expensive compared to android?

why are the WP7 so expensive while having less spec? I really want to get a WP7 but the price is the biggest constrain.
There are inexpensive models, too. What ones, specifically are you comparing? Also WP7 doesn't need dual cores to run really well. Other spec issues may still be limitations of the OS.

WP7 devices are generally more expensive. For proof look at the HTC Sensation XL; identical in every way to the HTC Titan, but has more RAM, includes expensive Beats headphones and sells unlocked for roughly £100 less than the Titan. Why a 25% price reduction for better hardware running Android?
It could be license fees, maybe less Titans were manufactured, maybe just the Android phone market is more competitive and they think they can get away with higher WP7 pricing?

Why do people keep repeating this? It's like an echo on WP7 forums; so so annoying!
Obviously a mobile OS doesn't need dual-cores to be smooth (iOS is proof of that) but it is hugely limiting when it comes to 3D games and CPU intensive apps. For example, Titan II just announced and still no 1080p video recording, let alone cool things like onboard video editing. So technically the OS doesn't need it, but it does if it doesn't want to get left in the dust by the big two competitors.
WTF do you expect people to say! You give no specs to compare or complain about. Of course, you're going to hear the same thing over and over again.
Be specific the first time around.

The original post is about WP7 pricing. What has "WP7 doesn't need dual cores to run really well" got to do with the posters question?
It was an odd response, hence I had to take issue and question it.
I just don't understand, why WP7 from the same manufacturer is more expensive than their Android counterpart. Are manufacturers forced to pay Microsoft license fee for Windows Mobile?
At 1% of the smartphone market, MS should really try to make their phones cheaper.
Windows mobile phones were also very expensive even after android came out.

because there's no market of WP7. and the few phones sold, are very expensive, because the variable cost of production.
It sounds absurd, but WP7=old hardware=bigger price, Android=new hardware=more rotation=male price.
if you want to buy today a cathodic tube TV, it will be more expensive tan a 3D led TV.
the same reason.
hey but remember: WP7 doesn't need dual core, it runs smooth with one core!
that's the only important thing about mobile phones nowerdays. that's why WP7 is the best phone of the world! I'm just kidding obviously...

This right here. Best post ever, especially in these forums.

It must be a "right place, right time" thing, because I got my Focus for free, my wife got hers for free, I got my Titan for free, and four other extended family members got their "Focii" for either free or, at most, $50.
The focus is an old phone right now. Not sure where you got a Titan for free from. Maybe from a holiday promotion? Tmobile gave away hd7 a month after releas on promotion so that doesn't really say much tbh.
Under normal circumstances the phones are more expensive than better hardware running iOS or android. Even bb7 phones launches with better hw than wp7 had when it launched and cost less in many cases.

Sorry, 4 of us got our Focus phones for free between January and April of 2011, to be more specific, and I think 2 got them for $50. Yes, I know it's an old phone, but it was new (~2-6 months old) when all 6 were purchased.
I specifically waited until "Black Saturday" to buy my Titan for $0.01, because I knew the discount was coming. Keeping up with the WP7 blogs, it just seems like WP7s are usually on some kind of special or another...so unless you're talking about off-contract prices, I really don't see WP7 as being any more expensive than Android.
That said, obviously Android's larger market, greater competition, and zero licensing cost would result in lower prices.
Cheapest I see on Google shopping for the Titan is $519, $569, $575...
Cheapest I see on Google shopping for the HTC Sensation XL is $525, $582, $587, $599...
Maybe things are different in the UK, but that is not the case in US. The problem is the price of the Titan is all over the place so maybe depend on where you buy it is a $20 difference or a $100 difference.
Amazon.com has the Sensation for $581.49 but the Titan for $675
Ebay - HTC Titan (locked) from $450. (unlocked) from $550.00
Ebay - HTC Sensation XL (unlocked) from $530
I will let you know this, wholesale the Sensation XL is consistently below $500 while the Titan is all over the place. Be reasonable guys, that is the supply chain to blame.
Joe Belfiore discussed the pricing issue yesterday in an interview with the Verge.

If you don't want to watch the entire video, the relevant part is at 7mins 43secs.
It's a good interview, so worth watching the whole video. Don't expect any new information though
who cares what they cost compared to android. if you want one buy one if not then stick with your android

They really are not. I mean head over to your friendly neighbourhood ebay and check it out. If your talking about expensive you will really have to explain. Seeing as the prices range between all WP7 devices.

Proof?
The Titan and Sensation XL are just about identical and when comparing apples to apples can be obtained on ebay for just about the same price. And infact, I can buy a locked Titan and pay for an unlock code and come out cheaper.
Why spread misinformation? A simple price check shows that is absolute nonsense.
Because Windows Phone 7 is like a honey badger. It does whatever the hell it wants and it's still an awesome mobile OS.
I love that WP7 is not playing the whole hardware game and is just focusing purely on the user experience and this really shows. It sucks that I have to revert my HD2 back to Android mainly because of unsolvable random resets running WP7.

Hardware
Titan is 1.4 GHz where the Sensation is 1.5 GHz - pretty close.
Both are 8 mega pixel cameras
Titan does 720P / Sensation does 720P (the listings did not show 1080P)
Both have 16GB.
I am now thinking the title of the thread needs to be changed.
Someone else can do the searching and posting for other device comparison information.
As is, it does not look to be more expensive for the same hardware.
I'm starting to see a shift in the pricing, for example on the TMOUS site one will find that the SGS2 and the HTC Amaze cost more on contract than the radar and Lumia 710.
