I am on stock EC05 with cwm2 root and custom kernel. I wanted a different bootani, so I flashed one. Now they are layered over each other. It looks like crap.
Want to know how to get rid of stock bootani and sound. Tryed removing or renaming with root explorer, and they keep coming back.

This is caused by data corruption. Did you reflash again?

No problem! I think you only need to do that once and now you can change bootanimation.zip without cleaning.

Used odin 1.6 was a lot faster then 1.3, restored all the way to Froyo stock, until I open apps and "superuser app" still looking at me? Lol

I'm uploading a Stock EC05 right now. (The entire TAR, 100% stock untouched.)
I'll post once uploading finishes (pretty soon).

I'm confused, did my .tar work? I'm pretty sure I've flashed that numerous times and it being a fresh installation of EC05.
You can find stock EC05 in ACS's thread for EB13.

Is there a way to replace CWM with the stock recovery?
Also, is there a way to unroot?
I am currently on EC05 rooted with CWM purple but I'd like to unroot and remove CWM without having to reflash and spend hours reinstalling all my stuff.
Yes. I can't gve an exact guide right now, but you should delete superuser.apk and /system/xbin/su or /system/bin/su. Then find the stock recovery

DCrocks put out a stock recovery flash. Then I guess you would remove Superuser. Why do you need to do this? If you go to Development in the stickies there is the How to fix a semi-bricked Epic. Dyeha posted links for this in one of the last posts.

I'd like to use the OTA GB whenever it arrives. I'm on stock EC05 except for root and CWM, so I think reflashing stock recovery should allow the OTA without losing my setup.
I refuse to have stock anything on my phone; I continue to wait patiently for a GB that is fully modded and hot rodded

I tried the above zip, but it caused my phone to hang on restarting; only odining something could get my phone back.
Like the above poster, all I have is a rooted stock EC03 (with no system apps removed whatsoever), and all I want is to update to EI22, either OTA or from the Google download, without losing my data. Does anyone know of another way to restore stock recovery to help make this possible?
Thanks much!
I wish I could do the same since I'm on stock rom + root. But since I'm already getting the OTA gingerbread prompt, I'm going to go ahead and try to ODIN to EC05 then upgrade to Gingerbread then root again.

That will certainly work. I did it and it worked fine. But I didn't want to lose my settings and data, and I'm not adept enough with Titanium Backup, so I didn't keep things that way. Still trying to find a way with keeping my settings/data...

Noob question about returning to stock ei22....
I just rooted, installed clockwork mod, installed set pcu... which I overclocked to 1.4 ghz, and am currently running legendary rom.
If I ever wanted to return to stock ei22 once again, must I odin back to ec05 before installing update.zip once again. By update.zip I am referring to the ei22 manual update and will I be unrooted with stock recovery?
Sent from my 1.4 ghz Epic running Legendary rom 4.0.1 beta
Exactly, atleast until we have the odin for ei22.

Ok, thanks for the help guys! really appreciate it.
So I am currently running ACS ICS v5.1 and will be needing to switch my Epic to a completely new Sprint account/number etc.
Will I need to revert back to stock ROM for this process, or can I stay on the custom ROM?
Would appreciate any insight into this matter. Thanks!!
No, as long as the needed files have not been removed like Sprint_app_updater and Sprintandroidextensions and probably devicemanagement.apk.

Yes. You can either ask what was removed in the thread or download the file, open it in Windows explorer and look in the system/app folder for the apps you need. If you like that ROM, we can get you what you need. I have the stock deodexed ROM that has all the stock apps in it. Or I just found this:

Well as it turns out, all this was for nought. I ended up getting the Galaxy S II / ET4G. After playing around a bit, I'm starting to realize that I really miss my Epic. Ill miss everyone here on the forum as well! Thanks again for your help. Ill still keep on peeking in every once in a while...
I recompiled the 14 toggle mod to be compatible with the UCLE1 leak and still work with USB.
I have only tested with mr x. UVLE1 stock rom base (The Tmobile ICS Stock).
14toggle.zip - applies the 14 toggle
revertBar.zip - takes you back to stock (Use this if to get back to stock if you have any problems) (LE1)
rom needs to be deodexed
For stock odexed roms like the odin tar you need to
use root explorer to
rename the systemui.odex to systemui.odex.bak after flashing
and reboot
if you run into problems just use the revert and rename it back to original name
Thnxx bro ! Wondering is this themed or no?
no exactly the same look as the old one. All I did is fix the usb mounting issue.
Will this work on the new stock T-Mo ICS ?

You beat me to it. I tried it today and it worked for me. I will repack a more current revertBar.zip but I think that one should work too.
I couldnt deal with not having a toggle mod but Ive been real busy so I wasnt sure if I would bother to try to fix it if it didnt work but it did so everything is fine.
EDIT: I flashed it on top of mr. x's base but I think it should be nearly identical to the odin flash so it should work for both.
Awesome. I will try it out. I really miss my toggles .Thanks.

Well after I flashed it, I had no status bar at all. So I flashed the revert zip and it came back. I'm using CWM 5.0.2.6 so I'm not sure what's wrong.

I did it with cwm 5.0.2.7 and mr x stock base. Are you coming from the odin tar?
I'm not sure what you mean .... I was running juggs 5.0 then I odin back to stock recovery uvlde so I could get ICS via kies. Then I re rooted using odin with the package on galaxys2root.com
Edit: I updated to 5.0.2.7 and tried another one 5.8.1.3 ( I think) from Rom manager.
Same result every time.
I see. I forgot your rom needs to be deodexed.
Edit : mark of the beast in one more post

Nevermind. Found it /system/app/SystemUI.odex
Didn't work for me on stock Odin LE1.
I tried reverting back. Also when I try powering off or restarting it will hang at the Tmobile goodbye screen. I have to hard power it off.
