I have just installed the Sprint Lovers ROM from the following:

The Hotspot option is working when on 3G but not working when on 4G (saying not subscribed to Sprint's hotspot feature).
Is this a known issue or am I missing something?
With the hack, it won't tether 4G, for that, get wireless tether from the market.

Hi all.
Is tethering 4G available with the EVO?
Im currently running Fresh's latest ROM. Never really had the need/use to tether 4G but a co-worker wanted to connect to wiFi so to show off my Evo, I said "tether off mine"....
But the Sprint Hotspot (via Fresh Rom) only tethers 3G.
Any ideas?

This program works great.
Sprint hotspot is blocked by default . Usb tether only does 3g unless u buy an app like pdanet or easytether. Fresh roms come already with wireless tether for root users that works with 3g or 4g .

Rooted my Epic and installed Syndicate ROM. My speeds using the Sprint Hotspot app were MUCH faster than using the Wifi Tether app. Does someone know something that I don't?
If I can't get 4G speeds using Wifi Tether which is only ad-hoc then I'll need to go back to Sprint's ROM, unless I can install the Sprint Hotspot app. I'm new to Android modding so please be gentle. Lol. Not new to flashing/modding in general as I've done plenty of flashing with my TP2.

I was wondering the same thing. I prefer sprint hotspot over wifi tether. Did you get sprint hotspot to work?
yeah the wifi tether is slow, i really want HOTSPOT back as i can use it and dont have to connect to it with the usb cable.
I have Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo installed on my Evo 4G, and it's great. My problem is that I can't get the hotspot to work with 4G. I've tried both the Sprint Hotspot and the Wi-Fi teather application that is included. I have full bars with 4G and a speed test with the phone shows that 4G works, but when I turn on the Sprint Hotspot, it just quickly goes from "Hotspot Active" to "3G Hotspot Active" and back and forth a few times before finally giving up with 4G and just staying on the "3G Hotspot Active" mode. Is there anyway to fix this? Is 4G Hotspot mode not supported with this rom?

It does allow 4G technically, the 4G just doesn't work with the hack.

Is it safe to use the hacked Sprint Hotspot? I have always been paranoid and just used wifi tether. However on MikG 2.2 Sprint Hotspot is in the quick settings on the notification bar, so I a thinking about using it instead of wifi tether. Thanks for your input!

No need to worry ... either is ok. The main difference between the two is that wifi tether has the ability to do 4G if you're in a 4G coverage area.
Just downloaded the lateset Synergy ROM, very nice. However I tried using the Hotspot app in conjunction with 4G and it just sends my 4G into a scanning loop. Hotspot does work on 3G though. Anyone else have this issue?
I've never seen the app (or the non-sprint one) work on any rom with 4G.
The "hacked" hotspot feature on custom roms is does not work with 4G, however, the paid hotspot feature does. To get around that limitation, either pay Sprint to use the feature or download and install the Wireless Tether app which works just as well as the hotspot feature and works very well with 4G.
