Mass storage kills my phone - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So guys, I've searched but haven't found this yet.
I'm running Syndicate Frozen 1.0.1 with Twilight. Just started today, but whenever I go to mass storage mode my phone stops responding and the vibrate randomly starts and stops until I pull the battery and reboot. The phone works fine otherwise.
This just started today so I have no idea why this is happening. Is there something I can do in recovery to fix it?
TIA!

[Q] USB Mass Storage problem on CM7.0 Final?

Is anybody else having problems with the USB Mass Storage on CM 7.0.0?
Some times I need to tap like 4-5 times on the Turn on USB Storage button to turn it on. If I restart the phone, it works after 2 tries.
No OC, Baseband 13.55.55.24H, Kernel 2.6.32.36 nFinity... any tips?
Never happened to me before this post, but, it just happened. <Damn>
USB Mass Storage didnt turn on no matter how many times I tapped on it. The screen would turn off and I would have to tap again, and, if I prevented the screen from turning off, the 'wait' animation would loop endlessly.
A reboot fixed it though. Looks to be one off for me, after I moved some apps to the SD, CM 7.0.2 Stable
I had the same kind of behaviour on CM stable 7.0.3. Always managed to get connected after some tries though, so no issue for me.
Now I'm running nightly #76 and didn't notice this issue anymore. Can be coincidence...

[Q] Screen issue starting today

I'm trying to diagnose a very odd issue that started this morning. I woke up and checked my phone and instead of getting the normal screen I just had a battery image showing 100%. I've never seen that charging image before today. I could not get to my phone screen so I rebooted the phone and now the screen will immediately power itself off after a second or two. I have been able to get it to the phone screen a couple of times, but if I touch the screen it powers off.
I am running Juggernaut 4.1 and have had no issues before today. I didn't install or update anything yesterday although I can't get to the phone to see if any auto updates have been completed.
I went into clockwork and I was able to navigate though and wiped both cache and dalvik hoping that would clear it up. After reboot it was the same behavior.
Before I spend my entire Sunday wiping and reloading my phone can anyone give insight into this problem? Most of my searches for screen issues have popped up the general display problems with the greys and blotches.
ETA:
Not sure why my brain didn't process this first, but I am actually able to unlock the phone (sometimes) with widget locker. If I tap the screen outside of the status bar then the screen powers off. I can interact with the status bar but I can't click the screen to get the phone into USB storage mode so I can't get anything copied off. I'm going to do a recovery backup and re-install Juggernaut to see if that clears it up before I start thinking hardware issues.
Not really to experienced with an issue like that, but perhaps before you fully wipe you could backup and restore the same backup. I had a application issue that I couldn't fix and even though the backup would be the same somehow it fixed it.
Sorry I couldn't offer you more.
As far as the battery showing up, I see the screen all the time when it's shut off charging.

[Q] Black screen but still has sound and still usable ?

Hello All
I have a HTC one X. I installed Cyanogenmod on it a few days ago and it was running pretty fine. Until last night my phone started to freeze a few times. So I reflashed the rom ect and it fixed it.
This morning I was messing around on this phone and it froze yet again so I held down the power button to reboot the phone.
Now the phone itself turns on but its shows a black screen. I can unlock, I can hear sounds, I can even receive phone calls and text messages and play around on the phone (but cant see anything)
I have tried plugging it in to my pc and going in to the SD card but in order to do that on cyanogenmod I will have to tun usb storage on, on the phone which i cant seem to do.
I am wondering whats going on with my phone and are there any ways to fix it or is this the end of it ?
Regards
Gentle

[Q] Screen Won't Turn On; Everything Else Functions Properly

I am/was having an interesting problem with my SPH-L710. I was recently at the gym listening to music on my phone, and it was functioning normally. I took my phone out of my pocket and pushed the power button, but the screen wouldn't turn on. The music was still playing, so I knew that my phone didn't just freeze. There was no immediate cause for my phone to stop working (ie I didn't drop it or get it wet at the gym), although I've dropped it several times before today without incident.
I took the battery out of the phone for a few minutes and restarted my phone. The phone turned on normally except the screen wouldn't turn on. I called myself from my landline and used the normal gesture to answer my phone and confirmed that I'm able to receive phone calls and that touch controls are working. I also tried booting my phone into both the recovery and ODIN download screens. I'm not sure if I successfully booted into those modes, but I do know that my screen didn't turn on when I tried to boot into those modes.
I took the SD card out of my phone and activated my backup phone through the Sprint website. I tried resetting my SPH-L710 after deactivating it, and the screen was functioning again. I reactivated my SPH-L710, and now it appears to be functioning normally. I have no idea whether taking the SD card out or deactivating my phone actually solved my problem or if it was just coincidence.
My ROM is MD4 with root. I have Team Win Recovery Project v2.5.0.0. My phone has been nagging me to install 4.3 for a few months now, but I haven't gotten around to researching updated ROMs yet.
My phone now appears to be functioning normally. Has anybody experienced anything like this before?

[Q] Phone suddenly started freezing and rebooting, now stuck at LG logo.

Months ago I rooted and flashed a lollipop stock ROM. It's worked flawlessly ever since, so I doubt it's the cause of this problem.
Suddenly my (international) G3 has started doing a cycle of freezing, rebooting, staying awake for a few seconds and then freezing and rebooting again. This started happening this morning, while using the "reddit news" app. I don't think it's related to the issue. Now, after a few hours, it's stopping the boot cycle at the LG logo, and it doesn't seem to go anywhere from there.
Previously, when it did boot and stayed awake for like 10 seconds, it showed some strange behaviour. Wifi didn't turn on, the phone got pretty warm, and whatever mode of USB connection I chose, USB debugging never turned on despite being enabled in the developer options.
"adb devices" in windows cmd doesn't show anything in any part of the cycle, so I can't take a logcat. The phone isn't awake for long enough to do it on the phone either. How can I find out what's suddenly causing this? Has anyone else experienced it? Trying a hard reset via pwr + vol down just shows me the LG logo again.
Does it still go into download mode when you press volume up and plug in usb cable?

Click to collapse
I assume so. I've never used it before so I'm not sure what it looks like - but I do see a little box in the middle of the screen saying "Download Mode", with a little graphic underneath.
