I have been using RWiimote when I was on CM6 and was able to map key to use Gameboid, Nesoid, ect. Now with CM7 I'm able to connect with Rwiimote or even another wiimote controller app but once im in the emulator itself its not registering the wiimote input what so ever. Now that we have the HDMI mirror I'm really having the itch to play these games on the big screen. Just curious if anyone has gotten a wiimote to successfully work with emulators in CM7 and if so what app and configuration you used.
Not sure if it's supposed to be answered here, but I'll give it a go. In the app you're using to play your games, you need to enable to bluetooth controller settings. Go to Settings -> Other Settings, and click the checkbox that says "Use Input Method". It's pretty standard among all of those apps.

Well I've done that previously, and like OP, no go.

Not trying to be smarmy, but I didn't see the OP say he did that... just that he had mapped the controls and it was working in CM6, but now he's in CM7 and it's not working. It could just be that minor switch that wasn't enabled (I pulled that a few times).
I'm on CM7 Nightly 12, and haven't had a problem with this.
OP, all I did was download the WiimoteController app, ran it and within the app, hit step 1 and connected my remote, hit step 2 to switch the input method to use the WiiControllerIME from Android Keyboard. Once that was done, I went into the emulator apps, mapped the controls, enabled Other Input method, and all worked properly.
I have selected in the emulators input method ie bluetooth controller and I have successfully connected my controller. where exactly are you mapping the wii controller in the emulator app all I see is hardware mapping not controller mapping maybe I'm just over looking something I dont know.
I've tried rwiimote and wiimote controller by ccp

RWiimote currently isn't working with CM7 from what I understand. WiimoteController on the other hand is working perfectly.

When you open your emulator, press the Menu key and go to Settings -> Input Settings -> Key Mappings. Select the input you want to re-bind, then press the button on the Wii remote. Voila!
Make sure that when you're done, you go back to Settings -> Input Settings and remove the checkbox from Virtual Keypad. I don't think it will allow the Wii remote along with the virtual keypad (but I could be wrong).
When I connect via wiimotr controller ime as the selected input and select key mapping ect. I can press the button repeatedly but its not recognizing that I'm pressing the button within the emulator. It just stays with press hardware button ect.

Wiimote Controller works perfectly for me on CM7 RC2, latest nightlies, in Nesoid, SNesoid, Gameboid, N64oid, etc.
Was just playing Super Mario 64 a few minutes ago.
Found my issue. At first you must disable input in the emulator to map the wiimote the. Reenable bluetooth input in other settings of the emulator to use

Okay, here's the deal xda peoples I recently rooted my phone for sixaxis support. Now, sixaxis compatability reads my DS3 and even gives input feedback, but when I try and use sixaxis controller to connect, it says "connection initializing......connection failed". Wtf is up with that?? Anybody know what I've done wrong/what I NEED to do?
I think it has to do with the bluetooth stacks...
I actually think the first time we actually had bluetooth remote support was when cm7 was being developed because they use the aosp stacks, not tw.
But this is all moot if you're running cm because then I don't know what the problem is lol

1) did you purchase the sixaxis controller app? if not, the app needs to be purchased to use it. the compatibility checker is only used to check to see if it's compatible, which it is with the epic. if I'm not mistaken, it has worked for me on tw gingerbread, cm7, and cm9.
2) did you d/l the sixaxis pair tool from www(dot)dancingpixelstudios(dot)com? it is needed to program the Bluetooth address to the dual shock controller. the bt address you need to program to your dual shock controller shows up on bottom of sixaxis controller app, and you need to enter that bt address into the sixaxis pair tool to program it. just follow the instructions on the website, fairly straightforward.
fyi, once you do that it won't work with a ps3 until you sync it again, which in turn makes it not work with the sixaxis app until you reprogram the bt address again. once you get it working, you'll never wanna play most multi button games on your phone without it! hope this helps and good luck!

I downloaded the sixaxis controller recently and connected my rooted s3 to the controller via bluetooth and everything went smoothly but when i play a game and press start it quits me out to the home screen on my phone. Do I need to reconfigure my controller mappings? Can I make my controller only work for games and not control my phone? This is a difficult thing to google so II'm hoping someone here can help.
Thanks.
Unfortunately I left my SixAxis at home so I'm unable to help you there, sorry!

I got it to work. I'm just an idiot and didn't enable the controller in the emulator. Thanks anyway.
Just went through the directions and successfully updated CWM and installed the boot menu. Took a few tries to get CyanogenMod to boot up but once I wiped the user data and reinstall it booted up fine.
Question, is the OUYA controller useless once in CyanogenMod? Do I need a keyboard/mouse to use it properly? What is the fan favorite for devices to replace the awkward controller?
Thanks.

This. I can't type from my OUYA remote to the onscreen keyboard. I've searched to find a way to enable this feature and couldn't find anything that would. I would think adding OUYA Remote as an input device might do it (Keyboard & Input in CM Settings) But, there is no option to access it.
I tried dl'ing Six Axis and it got late so I wasn't able to mess with it too much, but, it didn't seem like it was going to work. Essentially, I just want to be able to select the letters of the onscreen keyboard with the Ouya controller. Has anyone had better luck?
I have really retired my OUYA controller. Multi port USB hub with a USB keyboard, for recovery work, wireless mouse and a Bluetooth keyboard are my choices. I don't much care for games so this is just an HTPC for me. XBMC, Pandora, some weather apps, Facebook and tumblr. I haven't even tried the controller with any android games. Does it work in that respect?

Ive not actually tried it. It Navigates ok with wireless xbox 360 controller, so I`d guess its ok. Seriously, get a cheap wireless keyboard and mouse, for pref, not a bluetooth one but one with a dongle. Bought mine for £15 and its a joy to use. Browsing on a nice big TV is awesome.
You need to manually link the ouya controller in the blue tooth setting menu. Put the controller into discovery more than select find BT devices. You only need to do this once
Now that we have root is it possible to change the input method on the firetv to enable Wiimotes to be used as game controllers? I side loaded a wiimote app which correctly finds and pairs to my wiimote and even recognizes that I have a classic controller connected but attempting to switch the input method to whatever the app uses results in the app closing and reopening. I assume this has to do with there not being any default app to accomplish this. If you sideload a settings.apk it has a spot to change the input method but crashes when you attempt to open it. Anyone have any luck?

Which app did you use to pair with the wiimote? I was under the impression Android 4.2+ couldn't pair with wiimotes.
There are some emulators that have options for Wiimote usage, but I can't remember which ones do.

This one connects the wiimote and shows all 10 button presses. You just can't change the IME to get it to default.
I can't post links quite yet as I don't have 10 posts but its @ h t t p s://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ccpcreations.android.WiiUseAndroid&hl=en
Edit: I should also mention that snes9x has an option to pair wiimotes but choosing it crashes the app.
I just got my AFTV last week. I quickly rooted, installed the play store, and installed stickmount and foldermount.
I installed Grand Theft Auto San Andreas from the play store since I had purchased it previously from there. I then moved all the data to an external usb drive and fired it up.
The game seems to run fine but the Amazon Gamepad controller does nothing in the menu screen. If I load a game (using the droidmote mouse) it loads fine but only the left joystick works, no buttons or right joystick.
The droidmote joystick seems to work fine. The same controller setup works perfectly in Asphalt 8.
Any suggestions?
EDIT - Sorry, just realized half my first post was cut off.
And?
GTA San Andreas on Android is a festering pile of dog feces when it comes to control functionality.
Maybe someone can contact the Game Keyboard developer and ask for a Fire TV version that does not require switching the IME selection (switching it is nearly impossible),but instead would put a mappable "overlay" that matches the positions of San Andreas' various touch controls.
Or if it is possible, get a keycode mapper which allows you to simulate gamepad keycodes on any keyboard buttons or other gamepads.
(basically a more advanced joytokey without needing the physical joystick, and using the keyboard to control gamepad actions "keytojoy")
This one would have an enable/disable function to prevent input issues when not playing the game it is being used for.
I don't know if the unique Amazon version of GTA San Andreas supports keyboard controls, but it uses the Amazon controller by default.
I can't get any kind of game controller because of secrecy,so I am stuck needing a mapper hack for use on my Logitech K400r keyboard.
So in theory the amazon version of GTA SA might be different than that on the Google play store?

I tried with my Moga pro tonight and it works perfectly, apart from the fact that I cannot get to the map screen

If the soft controller of DroidMote work well, (tested today with last client and last server - no problem) you can play also with your hardware controller in this way:
1° option :
You can attach your hardware controller or a generic hardware controller to your Client device (via bluetooth, wireless dongle or usb cable), connect droidmote client to droidmote server and play with your hardware controller with the game running on the server device (the FireTv).
To play in this mode you need the original keylayout of your hardware controller installed on your Client device under the folder /system/usr/keylayout
You can get it from /system/usr/keylayout of FireTv if you are using the stock hardware controller of FireTV. (assign 777 permissions after copy)
2° option: ( to test on FireTv)
Start DroidMote Server on FireTv, connect your stock hardware controller to FireTv and should work also the right stick.

FWIW, the firetv version works great for me using a Logitech F310 gamepad.
I managed to get Game Keyboard selected as the Default IME,but have not tried anything yet.
If someone else can, please try mapping touch controls to a Logitech K400r keyboard and see if it works well enough.
We also need to know if multi-touch supposedly works on a touchscreen level so that multiple buttons for moving and attacking can be done simultaneously.
