Hey. So a problem a lot of Canadians are having is getting an unlocked WP7 to work on Rogers because Rogers is not on the list of network profiles listed. Currently Bell and Telus are on there. Unless you have a phone FROM Rogers, which has the Network Profile on it.
I'm really looking for someone who has the xml network profile from a Rogers WP7 that can share it with us here. Looking through the forums, this would help a lot of us out. Without it we have broken Caller ID and MMS.
Thanks much for any help!

I'm not speaking of specific entries like the data or mms apn. There is a specific xml file built into windows phones that has the entirety of connectivity information, including MMS and CLID settings, which can not be set through the settings menu. It is per carrier. But not all phones have those settings for all carriers.
..............
I have a sim unlocked Surround that was originally on Telus, now on Rogers. I downloaded the Htc connection assistant which adapted my phone to the new carrier with no problems

Sadly lg phones don't come with that option.
I had the same problems with my HD7. You can fix your CID issue by phoning Rogers and disabling name display, after that all CID's will show up like they should.
Well that's what I was planning to do until I realized WP7 devices on Rogers with the proper network profile settings have working name display. And also MMS. Was really hoping someone could contribute something. I've been searching google every few days to see if anyone has posted a copy of it anywhere. No luck as of yet.

Hi All, I have taken my At&T Tilt to Australia. AT&T provided the unlock code which seems to have worked. Seems is the operative word. I can make and receive domestic and interntional calls. I can send and receive domestic text. I can connect to networks via Wi-Fi. However, what does not work is the data connection to the Optus/ Virgin network, despite me manually configuring the set up per instructions for the TyTn II I was given. It does not make or receive domestic or international MMS. It does not make or receive international text. I inserted the SIM card into another WM6 smart phone, Australian edition of the HTC diamond, and it was able to connect to the internet via the cell phone network. So it is not the SIM card. I have tried some configuration changes without effect. HTC says it is a ROM issue. I would like additional opinions and of course, any fixes. The phone beats all other phones, including the iPhone for my needs so I want to keep it. Thank you.

Maybe it is the radio! Read through the radio thread in the kaiser section and if you can, contact your provider to see what radio they use for their stock ROM and flash that radio or the closest one! read the thread all the way through to see if anyone else is in your area and what radio they are using! Hopefully that helps!
Edit:Here you go click this link...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182&page=5
First post is from a guy in your part of the word! Try the radio he lists or if you have to, maybe you can PM him! Hope you get it working, I would go nuts without my data working! You can PM me as well if you have any more questions!

Could be a proxy issue etc. Internation text/calls would be subject to having international 'access' provided by Optus. maybe register and check out HTC club for any ROM specific to Optus?

Good man! Thanks for jumping in on this! I feel bad for this guy!
Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. I have checked the thread and see information on the radios. I am a mere neophtye when it comes to radios. Where can I find the radio's mentioned and then how do I install them?
Thanks.
Hey I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing an issue where apps will download over Wi-Fi but not over the cellular network. It will start the download but never actually get anywhere an eventually error out. Need to know if I need to go grab a new GN or not!!
That's your cellular network provider at fault if downloads are fine over WiFi.

I'm a sales rep for Telus and every android phone I've set up never has a problem downloading apps over the network...
I was having some issues with the market, but once I flashed the google image instead of the samsung version that came installed, I haven't had a problem.
Now if I could figure out how to get the tmobile market....
I think there was a previous post about this. The answer seemed to be if you have a proxy set up in the APN settings that was preventing it from downloading over the cell network. Not sure what the default APN settings are for Telus so I dunno if there is a proxy or not.
Thanks for the info. I'll try manually doing the APN settings!
Definitely didn't work

Hey, I had the same issue, along with another user.
The fix that worked for both of us is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371995
Basically edit your APN settings so that the "proxy" field is empty instead of populated.
Edit: The person that actually found the fix is jayclapp and he is on Telus, so this should work for you...I'm on mobilicity and it worked for me too.
Thank you so much for linking me to this. I was about to return it tomorrow and buy an Amaze. Now I get to keep my awesome GN =D thank you!
I am currently in Afghanistan and the local network here is Roshan. I unlocked my phone by requesting the code from T-Mobile which they provided. I got the voice to work, but have no data. I don't even show data status in the system tray like E or G or 3G. Before I got out here and I was still under T-Mobile, I had them suspend my line for my time out here. I don't know if that has anything to with it, but I thought I mention it just in case. Now, all my mobile settings are on. I texted 167 with "GPRS on" to get the configuration settings sent to me. I installed them. I then double checked the settings with several sites to make sure I had the correct settings. I called the customer support for Roshan, and they sent me the same settings. I called T-Mobile and they said it has nothing to do with them as I have unlocked my phone and the problem is with the Roshan network or settings. I then heard there might be a hidden T-Mobile Access Point Name Setting in my phone that could be interfering. I then rooted my phone and followed some instructions posted by TheUnlockr site for deleting hidden APNS. I used APN backup and restore app, but my phone let me know that no Third Party Apps can be used on APNS for Android 4.0+.
I have a buddy who is using a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 and his works on the network.
So, if anyone has any ideas that could help me figure out what the actual problem is, I would really really appreciate it.
Thanks.
I have a friend who just moved here from Canada. She unlocked her phone herself and it was working good here in the US on At&t until she did the OTA, now she cannot get data on her phone. Sms works just no data. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Are the APn settings correct?
I believe so, I've never switched carriers, so what should I be looking for?
Look under mobile networks and make sure the Access Point settings match the settings for AT&T.
I hope this is not going to be a repeat thread and I apologize if it is, but I have searched all of XDA( which is amazing and has some extremely talented people) and all of the internet with no answers. That being said, I have a G3 as985 32 gig. This phone comes from Bluegrass Cellular which is a small carrier in Kentucky but shares it's towers with Verizon. Here in the middle of nowhere, they are the only way to get decent service. So, in order to root my phone I had to downgrade to a Verizon firmware( vs98510b) and from there could flash any ROM for that model phone and it worked beautifully. I am currently running crdroid 7.1 build and it's great except for the APN settings. It continues to show as Verizon service, so my data will not connect to LTE and mostly shows roaming which I am not. I have tried every solution posted on the internet with no success. I can delete every APN except for the Bluegrass Cellular that I enter but nothing changes. Is there anything I can flash to make my phone recognize a certain APN, or any way at all of forcing an APN to be used? I am so confused at this point and just need some guidance from smarter people than me. I will answer any questions happily for the chance of finding my answer. Sorry for the long post. Thank you so much.
