Is there any way to convince the WIKI updaters for the evo4G roms to include wich ones have 4G support?

not true, I've been trolling thru a ton of roms, tryign to get a good 2.2 with 4g, and all i can find is the old alpha test of cmod 6.1 wimax alpha, and a ton of sense roms dont have wimax suport =[[[
I think you're mistaken. The Sense ROMs do all have 4G as they are all based off of the stock software. The only way one wouldn't have 4G is if the dev deliberately took it out.
Now the ROMs that are based on other phones like the Z or HD, those won't have 4G.

I'm coming over here from the Samsung Captivate section for some help. I've been flashing ROMs on my Captivate since they were available and am pretty familiar with how stuff works over there.
However, my girlfriend has an EVO 4G and I have her running on Cyanogen 6.1 RC1. Sprint just stood up 4G here in Miami, so of course she wants to get her $10 worth and wants 4G access.
I'm wondering what ROMs are compatible with 4G, and of those which would you guys recommend? I tried searching but you guys have WAY to many ROMs available (we only have 10 or so for the Captivate) and I simply don't have the time to read through all the features of every ROM.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Stick with the Sense-based ROMs. I'm a big fan of myn's warm and can confirm 4g works like a charm.

+1 Myn's Rom is overall a favorite Sense rom of mine. However it may not be for anybody, thread wise it is the biggest rom for the Evo. I have also used Fresh which also has 4g. I would say between those two you can find what she would like just read the OP for each rom.
+1 Myn's Warm. Been using it for about a week now and it is a truly amazing ROM. I have been thinking about trying others. Myn's and CM 6.1 RC2 are the only ROM's I've tried since getting my EVO 2 weeks ago. Pretty much any of the Sense Rom's are going to work with 4G. Any AOSP will not. Hopefully soon someone will figure out how to get 4G in a AOSP Rom because I really do love CM 6.1 nightlies. They have some unbelievable features.

Hi guys, just wondering is someone could tell if I can flash inspire 4G Roms onto a dhd? If yes then do I have to flash a dhd kernel?
Cheers

Why would you want to? They are nearly the same phone, just one is 4g. The DHD has been developed on longer so I really don't see the point in trying to get an inspire Rom to function properly on our phone.
Plus the developed roms are the same roms but optimized for the inspire.
Hmm leaked from my thumbs through my mobile device....

I have an inspire, haven't flashed an inspire rom in weeks, I mess with different kernels, some don't play nice with certain builds, so i wouldn't see why not give it a shot, always nandroid, should be fine.

So I gather you don't know then! The reason I want to use an inspire rim is that they have a better selection of pure soap roms.
Why its should matter to you as to the reasons for me wanting to use inspire roms, I don't know, however I gather you don't know the answer to the question.
Could anyone else please help with the question.
Can we flash inspire roms onto the dhd?

Technically, neither device is 4G. HSPA+ is a 3G standard, and cannot really be considered "true" 4G.
As far as I'm aware, both the Desire HD and the Inspire both support HSPA+, the former to 14.4mbps and the latter to 21mbps - could be wrong though, and they could even be the same, and it's just AT&T's HSPA+ network that could potentially reach 21mbps!
That being said, I'd very much doubt you'd ever see anywhere close to either of these speeds in the real world.
Regards,
Dave
foxmeister you are dead on.
There are minor differences. And don't forget to include the Telus DHD. It is nearly identical to the Inspire except for the storage. Inspire has 4GB and the Telus DHD has 1.5GB.
I believe there are 2 other differences between these 2 and the european model. Of course the bands are different for one. Also something to do with the sound. It seems inspires and telus DHDs flashed with european ROMs have tinny and low sound and require a patch.
I have flashed a few inspire ROMs on my Telus DHD in hopes of getting that fake 4G speedboost. ROMs work fine but as foxmeister stated it is all a big lie. Running a stock ginger ROM now and it has just as fast data speed as the popular fixxed inspire ROMs. Only difference it says H on mine instead of H+. I think they just changed the graphic. What a joke.
But yeah the inspire ROMs work on the DHD.
Looking for a Rom that has sense 2.1 or 2.2 with 4G and a working Netflix app.. can anyone help??

i have found that cyanogenmod 7 seems to be the best rom for the Evo.ive read several reviews, and cm7 version7.0 is the most stable.ive been rooted for 3 months now and went back to the stock sense UI,and forgot how ugly it is.so,i immediately switched back
Best rom with 100% everything working, stable, fast, latest technology evo 4g can support, etc, etc ==> Ginger-AleV3

Uhh, no offense but with it's flat colors, and minimal color schemes, black white and green, CM7 at base is WAY uglier than any polished Sense ROM.....

If that works so good, and same with CM7, why does it need daily updates?

dude, themes. want me to show some screenies? cuz mine looks pretty damn cool...
btw no sense 2 roms have 4g, but virus's kingdom port has 4g
here's the 4th time i've used this today. here's a quote from an earlier post of mine. rundown of evo roms pretty much.
ok, here goes.
first of all, yes this has been asked a thousand times per day, but people have fun answering them
sense roms are based off stock evo sprint software. if you like sense roms, you best choices will be:
myn's warm twopointtwo, for a smooth, themed, and slick stockish experiance, try this oldie but goodie.
mikfroyo, updated more often. optimized way over the top. i personally don't like the theme, and think if you want that speed go for aosp, but whatever. a bunch of people like it.
koni's elite. one of the newer good sense roms. good themeing. fast. optimized. everything else the other two have, just different...
aosp roms are based off stock google source code. they are not built for the evo (or until like 2 weeks ago, not built for sprint, cdma, or wimax) but have been ported exelently. these are much faster than sense, and about half the size. they have a different look, feel, and functionality though. they are based on gingerbread, not froyo like stock evo.
cm7 (cyanogenmod 7): simply the best. most other aosp roms based off of this. a gigantic project that spans across ~30 phones with ~24 official developers and many more unnoficially contributing to the open sourced code. fast, stable, WORKING 4G AND HDMI!!! (took monts to do those 2). everything works (except 720p video recording, but 480 is just as good). really, try this one first. nightlys are released every night, stables are not. you can see the very complicated changelog along with links here: http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=supersonic
miui: based (sorta i think) off cm7. very iphone-like rom. built to have the best of iphone and android, with some added goodies. i persoanlly don't like it, but many swear by it. sorta a you like it or you don't thing. 4g doesn't work.
deck's: another cm7 based rom. basically slimmed down cm7. idk why you'd need to slim something already half the size of sense down further, but some people claim unreal battery life. 4g and hdmi also work cuz it's based on cm7
savagedzen rom: NOT built from cm7 (yes, this is a bragging right), very stock gingerbread, with lots of kernel tweaks. not based on cm7, yet 4g and hdmi work.
salvagemod: even more stock gingerbread. 4g works. not hdmi.
ports: the name explains it all. 4g doens't work for these, except the rare exceptions. virus is the one who's ripping out port after port after port recently.
a sense hd port: mik and myn both have one of these. froyo with sense 2.1. no 4g.
virus gingersense: sense 2.1, gingerbread. no 4g, but the rest is working.
virus kingdom port: based on an unreleased, unrevealed device called the htc kingdom. 4G WORKS. still in deep beta. sense 3.0, and gingerbread. sense 3.0 is pretty crazy.
so yeah. i personally use cm7 with tiamat 4.0.2 kernel and a modnation theme (whichever we r testing). try as many as u like. if you like it, make a backup.
I noticed the Evo Shift has working WiMax on ICS Roms because of processor similarities and leaked Roms. Is it possible the Evo 4g will get working WiMax on ICS Roms also?
EDIT: Found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604732
Possible not probable?

i was recently using a ICS rom where 4G was working just fine... i forgot which one it is, ive been switching ICS Roms back and forth
Not any time soon as code has to be written from scratch due to HTC not supporting evo any longer. And any rom that's says its working is not true ics as of right now

Was probably an ICS themed gingerbread ROM, no ICS roms currently have WiMax. Might as well just hope they start working on WiMax for jellybean.
To shed some light onto this Wimax is indeed working on a ICS Rom (CM9) For the Evo 3D Quote from Toast member of Teamwin"
http://techerrata.com/file/toastcfh/ … <~~ wimax in cm9! check it out."
What does this mean? Well Wimax is working on ICS but that's all. Until Teamwin is ready to submit the Code were not going to see it here anytime soon.
Also do not download that rom it's for the Evo 3D not 4G.
also...
I was wondering about this. It seems like most devs are making the jump to other devices... What i've noticed by working on the HTC Hero and on the HTC Evo 4g is that the further we can push legacy devices, the more we find out about optimization not only for those devices, but newer devices as well. At least in the case of the Hero vs Evo, the ability to run optimized code with the Hero lead me to even more optimization in the Evo. So for those devs pumping it out with legacy devices, KUDOS! You've helped me a TON with holding on to my Evo for nearly 2.5 years and being not only satisfied with its operation, but able to jock any Apple fanbois I come across
Another question that seems pertinent to this discussion: How about a 3.0+ Linux kernel? Is it possible for the Evo to run this? Is there development as of now? I thought that ICS and Jellybean were difficult ports because of the kernel specifically... is that the reason?
Cheers
Soc
Atyoung has said that he's working on a 3.x kernel, but recently, his job moved him, and he's been busy with that stuff. So, it's coming. Just don't expect it soon.
Edit: From my understanding, it's not so much the kernel version that makes ICS development difficult. It's the lack of drivers being released. That's why HWA support took so long, and that's why the FFC still doesn't work in ICS.
New to the whole android rom thing. Been using my inc for awhile with a few different roms, there seems to be a lot of activity on here for support and upgrades. I also have a HTC EVO 4G that I ported to Pageplus. It is not active because most of the roms I tried were older and seemed to lack any support and they all had major issues, either performance or sound or data would not work. I am wondering, since the hardware seems to be pretty similar if I could port the inc roms or just use them on the EVO. Even better I wish I could rebuild some of the great roms on here for the EVO but I get lost reading all the different "How To" articles.

Ive had some success porting between two similar devices, but with the EVO, it might be hard because it use Sprint's wimax network which can create issues when porting. You can try by searching for one of the How To Port guides on XDA

if you want a good rom try evervolv
http://evervolv.com/devices/supersonic
im using their roms for htc nexus 1 & htc bravo, very smooth, both already have kitkat
the htc evo is only 4.2 JB but maybe they are working on 4.4 for it too
Thanks for the responses. Was hoping the Sprint thing would not be an issue since I was on Pageplus. My first attempt at porting would not load past the boot screen. I probably should not have tried the Evervolv 4.4 that is being worked on as my first attempt. I keep trying to use Evervolv on my inc but never really feel in love with it. I keep going back to Tiny's CM 10.1.
