Can I completely turn off some sensors on my Desire until I actually need them?
As you can see from the pictures below, AK8973 Orientation Sensor uses 7mA, AK8973 3-Axis Magnetic field sensor uses 6.8mA and the Rotation Vector Sensor uses 7.0mA.
Do these sensors get turned off automatically when not being used, or are they on all the time? If they are on all the time, surely it is a waste of power if they are not being used?

Or am I taking rubbish?
None of these Sensors is active as long as an App doesnt use them. Thats why Standby-Current is usually around 7 mAh (if not polling for mails etc.). Just grab CurrentWidget from the market if u want to test.

Is there a way to manually calibrate the accelerometer? It started to really piss me off because some problems started to occur while playing some games (Mike V Skateboard Party, GraviTire) and these problems never occured before.
Now when my phone is lying on the flat surface I get this values:

I've found a way to boot testing console of our magnetic sensor:
open terminal emulator and write "/system/bin/akmd8975 -s"
and then these options appear:
After selecting number 2 i get this:
But any other option WORKS so I'm surprised...
Is there a way to manually fix uncorrect input values?
bump... anyone?
Is there anyway to disable google maps sensors? Even when I'm not using it , its draining my battery. Thanks

Hi,
After screen digitizer replacement, I've found that the proximity sensor works very strangely.
Sometimes, it can spot something and stops showing as "covered", but immediately after reboot, it always shows as "covered". That is, the distance detected is always at ZERO cm (near) and never goes to 5 cm (far) as it should be.
How am I supposed to fix this? The "Proximity Fix" app does not help.
How do you fix this after screen replacement?
As you see in the attached picture, the "sensor last covered for" value keeps increasing every millisecond. In this screenshot you see it as 7000 something ms.

Hello, dismounting my device I broke the fingerprint sensor. So I bought a new one and when place it, fingerprint reads was unconsistent. Try to enroll again but have the calibration needed message.
Then I downgrade to android 9 (after tray everithing else) and the fingerprint doesn't work properly anyway...
When tray *#0*# and test the sensor have:

Can anyone tell me what is "history" item and how make them go to 0 value? Or if knows how make a calibration better!
Go to samsung support it's not an opcion ( it's a frankensphone builded from other 2 broken )
Thanks!
I'm trying to capture a hummingbird in slow motion by using the stylus as a remote, but after setting up the phone on the tripod and putting it in slow-motion mode, it'll back out to the home screen after two minutes of inactivity.
I've fiddled with my screen display settings so don't think it has anything to do with that (but can't be sure), but if anyone has any idea, it'd be great to hear. We have some beautiful hummingbirds here in western WA, it'd be amazing to be able to capture one in slowmo!
