Nintendo DS Lite Hard shell zip case from Joytech
only £6.99 @ www.play.com
perfect fit for the universal
even got a cargo net in top section for mem cards or whatever take your fancy
How hard is the hard case? Would you feel ok if you dropped it? Off a table? Down some stairs? Just trying to get a feel of how protective the case is?
thanks though
I have been telling this to everyone before but no one wants to listen. I too am using the Nintendo DS Lite hard cases ever since I bought my Universal. It is the best zip case for my purposes. Even houses my extended battery.
The hard case is hard enough, similar to those hard carry on bags for travelling. The inside of the case is also highly paded, and with extra space for other small accessories.

off a table or down the stairs should be fine alothough i would not like to try it LOL
the DS Case i posted about is a nice snug fit almost perfect, and i'm not sure if it would allow fitment of an ext. battery.
But i have never seen a universal with an ext. battery fitted
nor have i seen a standard uni next to one with an ext. batt

best leather holster

going to look for a leather holster for my phone, I think. don't like cases much, like holding only the phone in my hand when i'm using it. anyone have a good one?
one option with removable plastic clip (downside is losing the clip); not sure I like the light tan inside:

a bunch of other leather cases on sale here, probably the best prices you'll find; can't be sure of the quality though.
A couple nice ones, I like the vertical one (nice and small) but I need a belt clip for work, wish you could combine the two. both are a little pricey.

I posted this over in a another thread but I bought a Eddie Bauer holster from Best Buy and it fits great. However you cant use a case, hard or gel on it. Reading what you posted you dont use one anyway. Good Luck
Holster
I'm still on the hunt for a leather holster too. My problem is I'm using a Seido Innocase like the one below for everyday wear on a seido belt clip holster, but need a leather holster for tougher environments so I'm hoping to find a case that will accommodate the increased dimensions of the seido case:
I like the Cellet Bergamo mentioned above but not sure if it'll fit.
I also like the selection at fommydotcom (sorry, as a new user i'm not auth to provide links)
Does anyone have insight into any of these holsters? Thanks.

That is awesome news

This implies the a case with an extended battery. might not work for the official htc battery, but their own??!?
Wouldn't it be worded differently like " It will consist of a case that fits extended batteries."?
Electra cases for other phones contain Trident's extended battery. The case will be sold with an extended battery of their own (not HTC) if these Electra cases are like their others.

While ours will probably be significantly different, this is what I found by searching for this: http://www.meritline.com/trident-b-cy-evo-exbat-ic-cyclops-case---p-68454.aspx

I emailed them this: "Thank you for the quick response. Will this be offered with an option to purchase the case with out the battery for those of us, which is most people with a Thunderbolt, that have already purchased an extended battery? Do you need anyone to do any product testing? Thanks again."
With this response: "We are exploring the possibility of selling the case without the battery, but as of now we do not have firm plans to do so. And thank you, but no, we are not presently looking for product testers."

Blatant Otterbox Ripoff

I am tired of waiting on someone to make a good "armored" case (Otterbox cannot seem to get ahead of the game and have release dates far beyond the release of the devices, including being an iPhone ballsack licker) so I found this on eBay for less than $10 including shipping from NYC.
This thing is a blatant ripoff of the Otterbox Defender. The only difference being the pattern on the back of the case, and the kickstand. It comes in three pieces the same as the Defender. It is only missing the built-in screen protector.
But, lets think about it here for a minute...
Otterbox Defender = $50 USD (approx)
Chinese knockoff = $10 USD (approx)
Same protection, save $40.
It's not the most attractive design, but I am not going for pretty, but purpose with the protection it provides. More so than the skimpy-wimpy gel cases, or leather "pouches" that are available. Sure it takes away from the slim design, but I don't think I have to worry about breaking the device unless it happens to land square on it's glass face.
I have a night blue Otterbox Commuter on order, only because it matches the phone. I am awaiting the Ballistic SG Maxx to be released, and I will be done searching for a case.

I searched, but since the post title you referred to had nothing to with what I was posting about, so it didn't show up. :crying:
oh no biggie. I just thought you might want to have a look. I've decided to get the following as my primary case though...and keep this one you've noted as a backup.

hey MscTch theres even a knockoff of that case now lol

A new case for my galaxy s3

I want to buy a new case for my galaxy s3. I think will buy the case from ebay. I am looking for a strong case. I want a case that even if the galaxy will fall on the floor it won't be scratch or any breaks.
I heard about case mate though, speck and more cases but I don't know which is the best. I don't need any special uses.
If it's drop protection you want
My top 3:
Griffin Survivor (my current case)
Trident Kraken.
Otterbox Defender.
I'd stay away from eBay, knock offs are more common there. Just my personal preference.
Just a side note, any case that provides top of the line drop protection will add bulk. But if your like me and prefer a little bulky then your good.

Urban Armor Gear hands down the best case I have owned check it out in the thread in here around the top tons of pics and info there.

Yup IMO, UAG gives the BEST overall protection with the SLIMMEST design.
Thank you very much. I think I will buy the UAG case but where can I buy it in good price? I need a shop that send to Israel.
Before you decide to get the uag at least look at the puregear dualtek, it's a sweet case and the best one I've ever used. There's a thread here with a review of it. I personally think its a better case than the uag.
