Official US AT&T Jellybean 4.1 RELEASED via KIES

Out of curiosity , I connected my phone to my PC and fired up Kies and BAM!!!!!, you have an update available. I did not capture the Kies screenshot, sorry, but here is a screenshot from my phone.

I searched the web today as well, but did not find anything. Do you have kies installed on your PC? There was a kies update detected and an update for my phone. Attached is the kies version

just checked my phone via kies, and the up date to 4.1.1 was available. your phone must be at 50% charge to apply update. so im on the charger as we speak!!! will post results later!

I can confirm, just connected and shows the update.

So far so good! It seems to be pretty responsive, no lag as of yet , Google Now working as expected, face recognition(screen unlock) seems to be working OK, the recent apps has some additional options, when you open a file for the first time to associate it with an application is different, the pull down notification has some new options, there is this new Home Screen mode that allows you to pick between Basic and Easy mode, a blocking mode which all you to block notifications for particular scenarios you setup, and who knows what else I have missed.

Its not hard..lol Just install and connect via usb. I know tough, but I have faith in you!

Yea, I think I might be done with the custom ROMS. I was flashing my phone every few days. But the CM10 stuff seems to be pretty impressive, especially with the nightlies

I liked how I told everyone we at att were releasing the update very soon and everyone thought I was lying. Hmm. I do know what im talking about

Help with Ace2 Update to JB

Hello All,
Can you please help me with this?
I bought a Glaxy Ace 2 (GT-I8160) and noticed that it was running Android 2.3.6!!!
I checked for update via OTA and KIES and both showed none.
Is there any way to update it to JB while keeping both English and Arabic (Full Menu in Arabic not just character support) languages?

Phone: I8160JPLD6
CSC: I8160OJPLD2
Phone is unlocked.

I tried but it showed no update. It says that my version of KIES does not support firmware update or something...
I guess I should try again.

sorry for the very noobish question but i too hope to upgrade it as well
firmware/rom mean OS right?
so long story short i took it to a samsung customer service and they said i had to pay a service fee to get it upgraded (i had around 9 months left, i barely used it (heavy laptop user) and i havent touched the software) to which point i thought about upgrading it on my own
IF firmware/rom do mean OS, why are there so many different versions (excluding language; smoother, more stable ETC)? i see a few are around 500MB and the largest ive seen was 1.6BG. could you explain the differences? id honestly prefer a torrent since my internet connection is very unstable
do all packs contain english?

That sucks. The skyrocket did get their 4.1.2 leak before att released it. No love like that for the s3 I guess.

I'm going to assume so also since Samsung has promised 4.3 for the s3 and note 2, which is amazing and totally unprecedented as no other phone not produced by Google.

Sorry for the noob question, but if they release this, what would be the process of going back to an official firmware. I hope this fixes MHL.

You would use ODIN if you don't want to use Samsung KIES to restore the stock firmware

I'd be very surprised if ATT released 4.3 before the i9300 got it... Usually there is about a 6 month or more difference between the i9300 and the US s3's in terms of updates.

If at all. I have a feeling ATT is done providing updates for this phone. And if they do throw one more at us, it wont be 4.3 cuz they just don't keep them updated that close to what the actual current version is. Prolly 4.2 will be the last if any at all. I hope I'm wrong, but their track record does speak for itself.

Samsung said that there will be no 4.2 for the S3 just 4.3
Obviously, there will also be no 4.3 for the S3 until after it's been released for the flagship S4

Both of these reference the i9300 (i9305), not our phone...
The first article is supposedly an insider tip from a Deutsche Telekom employee: "The Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 have been rumored to skip the Android 4.2.2 and get Google’s latest Android update instead, although Samsung is yet to confirm it. An Australian carrier (Telstra), answering to questions about the Galaxy Note 2 updates, has also hinted that the device will go straight to Android 4.3"
The second article also mentions the same DT employee and is talking about the i9300 for DT networks.
Your 1st comment said Samsung confirmed it and they have not.
Not trying to **** in anyone's Cheerio's but like most things involving US carriers, I'll believe it when I see it...

This, we know. What I'm trying to explain to everyone in another thread is that support for the US variants died after the release of 4.1.2
We should consider ourselves lucky if we get 4.3 (officially) at any point.
Samsung doesn't need to confirm anything that the US carriers choose to do with the 4.2/4.3 source code (if they ever do get it). I'm still convinced that carriers are only interested in selling new flagship devices.

I agree with your last sentence - it's almost criminal the way US carriers act towards this.

It wuold be awesome if AT&T release the update promptly, but, I think it's gonna have to wait.
I mean, we were the last ones to get the premium suite :C

I'm now getting bored of the Premium Suite as I thought that I would have wanted all those fancy features when they first release.
Now, I'm trying to find a stock AOSP 4.3 ROM to flash. My only reason for staying with this is the fact that I need to use Samsung KIES as I'm a MAC user and have no other way of using MTP to transfer files to my device.

T-Mobile 4.3 Update Rolling Out (11-18)

As far as I remember reading, we should just about be ready to start receiving the 4.3 OTA on our phones. I'm starting this thread as a place to come let others know once they've received the OTA. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled throughout the night and into tomorrow. Come keep me company with some mindless banter!

If we're rooted and it's saying your phone is modified, we don't get the update right? Where can I find that update on here so I can do manual Rom update, I got a Galaxy Gear Watch I wanna use. T-Mobile Galaxy S4 rooted.

If your rooted and it says modified u wont recieve the update to 4.3.
There is the system dump that was make into a rom but its not an official release u have to be on stock UVUAMDL to recieve the official 4.3 update from tmobile when its released.

I believe it will be OTA be cause what would be the point in having system update under settings if there is no use for it .
If i get the update and stay rooted after 4.3 update i will pull .cfg file if it is ota

as for me, i was hoping an automated system would start pushing the update at midnight. But that was wishing thinking i guess. Though it wont matter for me much longer with my nexus 5 ordered.

No, I just thought people were impatient. The thread title is not accurate as the update is not really rolling out yet.

I'm hoping that t mobile was last for the update because it was also working on the metro pcs gs4. At least all galaxy s4's have followed the leaked schedule, If not I'll just have to go custom on my metro gs4.

I'll stick with my version for now. Even though I've flashed several 4.3 ROMS... I'm not updating to TMOs OTA for this whole knox fiasco. Might be worth it if there are significant kernel tweaks and overall performance gain. I've appreciated the direction TW has been headed, at least it has been getting significantly better.

While browsing Samsungs website I happened to click on our Note 2 model i317 and under OS it says 4.3, my question is has been released already? I haven't heard anything, This probably means that because Samsung gave At&t the update that it's just waiting for them to push it to us. Should be really soon, sprint already has theirs and I read that T-Mobilw just got theirs out

Sprint's update is out, T-Mobile's is out, US Cellular's is out, Verizon's dropped today and we wait. Funny that AT&T was supposed to one of the earliest updates on the leaked list but we still wait. I just want it to get into the hands of the TW ROM teams, Ditto Note, Sky Note and Jedi so I can see what they do with it.

Yeah, my contract is up in January and I don't think I'm going to stick with AT&T. It seems like they really don't update their phones if they don't absolutely have to. =/

Thank God I am not with At&t and I am pretty sure this note will be the last phone I get that is At&t branded phone with how they are locking up their phones

What is the latest version from AT&T? I am still on 4.1.2. If I am in a different country will I still get an update if AT&T releases on update? Every time I check for an update it always says that I have the latest update.

I don't think that the update will be far behind the other carriers. At&t always waits till the last possible moment for anything. My guess is that it wont be an OTA but thru Kies which will suck cause my CPU just crashed on me the other day

Well as far as I can tell they're already the last carrier to push the update. The only question now is "WHEN?" (if ever, heh...)
As for Kies, I highly doubt it. Every other update was always OTA. Kies is just a convenience factor.

Refurbished units and warranty replacement devices reportedly have 4.3 loaded..
Of course ...no love for the current users ...again....g

Update is failing... I think it's b/c I removed some Sammy bloat apps.
I've never had to go back to stock / unroot. Is there a guide? Is there a stock SGH-I317 UCAMC3 zip in this forum I can use with odin?

Just got update on my GT-I9300 international version unlocked, got installed successfully but then apps started giving problem, crashing multiple time, unable to launch. So had to reset, works fine now.
One thing! I felt my phone was damn slow after the update.
