cm7 power bar? and miui back button? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright, my favorite thing in cm7 was the notification pull down power control. I recently switched over to mikfroyo and it does have a power control in the notifications pull down but it can't have more than 6..
also..
Is there anyway I could get the hold back to force close current app that was in miui?
Thanks for the help guys
(also, what is the best kernel for battery/performance on mikfroyo? and is there a way to replace mikfroyo phone app with the one from miui?)

bump, anyone know??

Mui and cm has the hold back button to terminate app. It isbn available with sense atm
Most roms have a power control pull down. Not sure why one would need more than 6, looks crowded with more

Well I went back to the cm7 rom from above.. I tried the hold back to force close current app but it doesn't do anything. Do I have to enable it somewhere or is there a .zip I can flash to enable it?

No offense, but you're obviously not looking through all the options:
Settings > Applications > Development > Stop app via long press

[Q] ScreenShot App For Deck's ICS Alpha?

So I just installed Deck's Alpha8 of ICS, and wow is it Phenomenal. One question though, I have downloaded like different screenshot apps and all of them have foreclosed or not even started, does anyone know of one that will work, really want to get some nice Screenshots of this awesome alpha build.
You can turn on USB debugging and use one of the tools in the android SDK. Can't remember what It's called but it starts with a d. Google "how to take a screenshot with android SDK."
Edit: once you have the SDK. It's in the tools folder. It's called DDMS.exe
my evo is aggressively runny
sweet i didnt know i could do that, will definetly help for when i get out of work and at home to a real computer
any other way to do this from just the handset?
Power and Home button at same time might work..Depends on phone and Rom if its "baked" in.
Just hold down the power button and an option for taking a screen shot will be there. I think it saves under the DCIM folder, but don't quote me on that.

I love you all!!!!

Its for aosp ROMs like stock that lack the power menu options besides shut down. Not counting modified aosp like sosei of course.

But doesn't boot any faster, your point is invalid. OK kidding I hadn't noticed it shut down any faster then a normal reboot, but since I don't use stock ROMs I don't tend to use this app.

Thank you
Thank you. This is very helpful for Nexus One with broken power button. :victory:
Awesome app!
Plus, the recovery buttons combinations sometimes don't work, so I use this app to get to CWM/TWRP to be able to upgrade from stock to AOSP.

[Q] Kill app back button on JB paranoidandroid

Hi, i marked the Kill app back button
and it dosen't work.
what can i do to make it work? im using this thing alot.
Galaxy nexus 4.1.1 3.0.38-cyanogenmode paranoidandroid built aug. 2nd
Paranoid is ripping from CM10's Kill function.
Which currently doesn't exactly function correctly.
Even if it did work, you'd end up getting a systemUI reset each time you killed an application...along with the stock wallpaper being set.

I used that on my previos ICS and it did killed my UI and automaticly refixed it.
is there any other MOD of app i can install to make the back kill the apps?
thanks
Why do you want to kill apps? Kernel takes care of that already. Let it do it's job.

Q & A > Unofficial AOKP [4.2.2]

So keeping it short and sweet:
This is thread to house questions related to the Unofficial AOKP thread, by $MyName.
Questions in that thread can be asked, but "Where do I find the lockscreen wallpaper" shouldn't be asked there, lets keep it clean.
You can ask me directly and as always the other users, as this is a community.

Thanks for this! I would actually like to ask if there is a good inverted google apps mod for 4.2.2 (especially talk, calendar)

Worked fine, though if you're still having trouble:
4.2 camera zip
You can download that zip, flash in recovery [no need to wipe], then reboot.
It'll flash the 4.2 camera with photosphere to your system

Currently most users, myself included, use go sms. I use it full time, other use it just for sms.
Some users have reported success using the 'justintun' inverted gapps.
Hello, I have been running this ROM for about 4 days now. When I go to Settings, ROM Control, General UI, I have "Show Menu UI Overflow" unchecked. However, I am still seeing the 3 dots representing the menu button in apps. This is not a big deal, just a small annoyance. Is there a way to get rid of this? Also, using lock button to wake up phone sometimes takes a while. I have read that disabling "Wake up on charger" has helped for some users, however it has not made a difference for me. Is there a fix for this, as well? I like this ROM very much, it's smooth and very battery efficient. Thanks for the help!

Well as far as the button, have you tried toggling then rebooting; that may fix it.
The wake issue is semi hit or miss. Disabling the wake on connect has helped some; have you altered your kernel settings?

Yup, I have tried toggling and rebooting without success. And when you say kernel settings, are you referring to the performance options? Because I have not made any changes to those. Nor have I made any changes to any kernel settings, as far as I am aware.

Its possible that its a bug; I haven't actively seen anyone else report in on that issue. And kernel settings, yes; and are you using the stock kernel?

Yes, stock kernel and no settings have been changed. Also, I was checking my data usage and I have noticed that it is not changing. It says I've only used about 300mb and that is not nearly the amount I have used. I don't think it is updating data usage for mobile data or Wi-Fi. Anybody else experiencing this? Just a small bug, not too much of a concern. Thanks!

[Q] Built-in 4-Way Menu

Does anyone know if there is a built-in 4-way menu like the default: http://i.imgur.com/BmUz8Nz.png . So something like Power off, Airplane, Reboot, Recovery, Download/Odin, et cetera?
I've seen images of them but can't find the files. Thanks!

No, that is what I currently have. You press Power button, then press Restart, and THEN you get the 4 way menu. I want the one where all the options show up after pressing the Power button. Thanks for looking.

I am rooted and I would like to keep the "stock" look and would prefer to mod than to install a program. I was hoping there was an Xposed module or a mod that I could simply flash. I guess once I get my computer back (God knows how long that will be), I'll make the module myself and upload it here. I'll wait to see if anyone has suggestions until then.
Bumpity bump.
