Here is a video that shows this in action.
Is there an Apk or anything of that sort to make this possible?
Thanks

No I donrlt ever recall seeing anything like that for the epic. Would be cool though. Maybe when we get official froyo someone can make something like that.

question about when froyo is released

i have just fully rooted my htc evo 4g and i installed evolution 8 and i love this ROM but i was wondering when froyo is officially available for the evo it will have htc sense on it and i personally hate htc sense will it be possible to remove sense completely off the Evo using a custom ROM ? i love the stock android experience i think it is the best.
It will definitely be possible to use a custom rom to have sense free froyo goodness. I agree that stock android is proving a good experience. The only thing I cant figure out is how to make the keyboard disappear when its covering something. The sense keyboard has a simple button that hides the keyboard. I'm sure I'll figure it out.
A nice unsung feature of froyo is that more of the OS is landscape friendly. The apps list and some of the settings pages are not, but the recent tasks window is for example. I wish that everything would rotate even if it was crudely done, but I would settle for everything but the home screen rotating.
A legit froyo is the missing link, I suspect, in making ROMs like evolution perfect because they should bring us a proper kernel. Slap that ***** on this ROM and voila.. everything JUST WORKS

Hold down the menu button
i use swype on my evo, and that "keyboard down" button disappointed after installing it, i've found hitting the back button also works in hiding the keyboard
Supposedly in July, but honestly, what good is a speedup if there is a 30fps cap :? I mean sure it will be good for running tasks, but I want to see the fluidity, not 30fps bull ****.
I want to get scissors cut off the HDMI connection, and go yell at HTC and say:
"I have no hdmi anymore, 30fps cap gone now plz thx"

lmao +1
You can also just hit the done button below the return key. It will also do it for many of the areas you have to enter text.
The only thing I would like to see more than anything at his moment is a smarter way to edit your text or select it with better precision. I give that one to Apple and the Iphone.
We need something similiar.

[Q] Now that the 4G shift is out...

Is it going to be possible to get the landscape sense on the EVO? Is it even possible since we dont have a keyboard?

Not so sure. The HD Desire has landscape but the EVO has no way to trigger landscape mode. Landscape is triggered on the Shift when the keyboard is slid out. My suggestion before was to create an icon or use the G-Sensor but the code would have to be altered to except this.
I was thinking the same exact thing last night, that I was surprised there had been no ports, considering that the RUU was floating around.
I'm no dev, but in theory it should work better than a Desire Z or HD port, because it would start with a CDMA ROM, and should have WiMax (although I don't know if the same 4G chipset is in both the Evo and the Shift)...
but we better leave it to the experts

Making An Interface Change in ICS

does anyone know if its possible to swap the location of the navigation buttons and the popup menu? Like making the navigation buttons on the right and the popup menu on the left? I dont see anything about this anywhere, but im curious if its possible.
Its in the Framework somewhere. Perhaps I might try to bug hashcode? lol
The navigation buttons aren't part of Trebuchet. Changing their configuration is most likely out of the scope of your abilities, unless you're good at coding.

Well its actually part of the framework. Theres not really "coding" to be done. It would be more of finding things and swapping their values more than likely. But yeah ive done a few things, Ive ported a sense rom to the Nexus s 4G and helped fix a few things in cm7 for the Epic 4G touch, so im not totally retarded i just wanted to ask and see if anyone had ventured into this yet.

Forgive my assumptions but your original thread title made it seem like a "dumbed down" answer was necessary.
You still have to have somewhat of an understanding of Java but if you are up to it so be it. There are a few Kindle Fire roms on github where you can get full uncompiled frameworks files for editing/research/whatever. Or if you want to go through the process of decompiling/editing/recompiling, you could do that as well. But I'm sure you know that already.
[Edit:] As for an answer to your question, I haven't seen anyone here messing with the placement of the status/nav bar items, only editing the graphics.

Tap Tap Revenge: Tour

Is there any way this title will come to android devices and have a proper port?
If anyone knows something about this I would really like to know because I loved the game on my iPod Touch.

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 ICS Spell Checker (SpellChecker)

ICS has a dropdown spellchecker that identifies misspelt words, works better then the predictive text options. I have used it with much joy on other ICS enabled devises, however it is missing from all Samsung ICS Galaxy devises.
Does anyone have a tested solution to enable the default ICS spellchecker (while I am interested in ideas all the obvious ones have been suggested on other forums with no apparent solutions.)
The most viable solution I have come across is listed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832126, has anyone tried this or found a solution?
Many Thanks in advance

I have also found this, not sure if it is applicable.

I don't understand how such a basic feature like spell check option could be disabled...
Anyone willing to help?

I could give this a look if you wanted I suppose... what are you running currently? Alternatively, shoot me a link to your SecSettings.apk and framework2.jar and I'll see if I can get it working for you (or at the very least replicate the mod that was linked).

Thanks for your response. I am new to Android but I am willing to contribute. I have an ATT Note 2 (i317) running a Tmobile rom, long story.
The lack of the most basic feature, a spell checker, a feature that was built into native Android but was disabled by Samsung, is a common complaint but most folks misunderstand this issue to be a keyboard issue. Based on my research, all Samsung Android devices (Touchwiz) have this identical problem, phones and tablets. So this problem is not unique to my handset. You would be a hero to a lot of us that lack the skills to restore the Android's spell checker. We currently have no alternative other than prediction keyboards but that is not a spell checker.
