In Clockwork Recovery you can mount the SD card to your PC from one of the menus... I think it's "mount & Partition" or something... It's the bottom entry on that list "Mount USB"

[Q] USB OTG ntfs

Hi, if any of you tried to connect a flash drive with ntfs file system? Unfortunately my 32gb sandisk extreme is unrecognizable. I have tried programs like StickMount, Paragon NTFS Mounter and exFAT, NTFS & HFS +, and only the last one detects the flash drive but can not read the files on it.
Did you download the helper functions for StickMount and put them in the correct place? I've successfully reading a NTFS external hard drive on my S5 with that combo but haven't tried it on my tablet.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S5 using Xparent Purple Tapatalk 2
Unfortunetly no. Can U help me?
EDIT: I put ntfs-3g on internal storage ( /sdcard ) but it still does not work. StickMount shows that mass storage is mounted in sdcard/usbstorage/sda1 but I dont have folder sda1 :/
EDIT2: I found where StickMount is mounted usb (data/media/0/usbStorage/sda1). I see all files but when I try to open (pdf or mkv movie) shows error (Adobe or VLC found usb error try to refresh media library).
EDIT3: When I copy file from usb to my sdcard everything is working. Any ideas how to read files from mounted USB or what is wrong?

I too have have tried all the different apps to read any OTG flashdrive. NTFS, 32bit and so on, none would work. Advised by one of kernel developers that rom/kernel must support OTG mounting and stock kernel does not. So it's not what you are doing but the stock device doesn't support. Only available by installing a custom rom/kernel that does. So far I think there is only one I know of for the 10.5 wifi. Not what sure what you are running but check the two threads for a kernel that will for you device. Good luck and if you find one, please come back and post what u found.

LG G4 cannot copy files to USB OTG after updating to Marshmallow

I've just bought a new LG G4 H818P. After updating it to Marshmallow, when plugging in an USB OTG of Kingston, ES File Explorer still can recognize and show its name in the disk list.
But when copying any files from internal as well as sdcard to the USB OTG, the error popup shows "Copying task failed".
Same when I open the USB in ES File Explorer, it shows nothing in it although I copied some photos from my PC to it before.
Is anybody encountering same problem, and is there any solution for this? Does Marshmallow not allow to write to USB OTG due to any security reason?
Feeling disappointed as I frequently use USB OTG to transfer files from phone out.
Thanks in advance.

PROBLEM SOLVED, after I re-format the USB with same FAT32 format type on PC.

[question] USB OTG

Hello all
Did any of you managed to get an usb flashdrive working on TWRP?
I tried two different devices, and none of them worked on recovery as OTG drive.
However... all my computers and MIUI itself, detected the usb flash drives and performed data copy with no issues.
i tried to change the filesystem on the drives to exFAT, FAT32 (default) and NTFS... no luck. Rebooting to twrp with the flashdrive connected or disconnected doesn't make a difference either...
Providing any help, idea, tip or usb make/model you may tried before with success is appreciated.
thanks and regards

I have no problem with USB OTG in TWRP.
Kingston 64 GB USB flash drive formatted to FAT32 with generic OTG adapter...
Can you provide recovery.log in order to analyze the problem?
Hi - thanks for the answer.
I will be glad to provide recovery.log - if you can help me out with it.
I checked over the file system and didn't find it. Thanks

When you are in TWRP, plug the USB, try to mount it (it will fail, yes, but this is important). And then go to Advanced menu -> tap the Copy Log button. Your log will be on /sdcard/
You can post it here, or on sites like pastebin.com
funny thing... after a third format... it started to work. for the very same reason it didn't work before...
anyway. thanks for your time!
