thanks in advance i always remove this app and apparently didnt keep a backup and am playing with trying to get the cradle, desk home app working.. on froyo.. app works but apparently the only way to get weather on the stupid think is through the daily briefing app which i previously removed.. so if anyone has it either de-odexed or the .apk and .odex (it may be called infoalarm) from te system/app please post it here..
only from jpy if odexed.
dont bother.. i found it in a save directory infoalarm.apk and infoalarm.odex
put back in system and daily briefing works and i added city to weather ..
worked ok.. But that is what causes desk home to crash.. (ver 1.0.1)
the weather.. as soon as i removed it from system deskhome worked again.

- no automatic conversion of sms to mms if longer then 3 pages (tested with fake sms only), hopefully it helps those who suffered
- all sms (from now on) will show sent time instead of received time (more info)

nice work mate! it would be great if you enable to send the group sms to send to more that 10 people. It would come handy for sms junkies. you will just have to edit a value in "mms_config" xml. It would be a great addition. just my two cents....

Oh, this is great!! ..for both things that this new .apk does!!

Sounds awesome and would save having to use 3rd party messing apps. Has anybody tried this yet and how is it installed? Is it just simply a case of installing the .apk file or does it need copying into the system/app folder?

rename/remove /data/dalvik-cache/xxxmmsxxx.dex
rename/remove /system/app/Mms.apk and/or Mms.odex
copy it to /system/app/

I'm using JPY non deodexed. Can't I just delete both Mms.apk and Mms.odex and just copy this Mms.apk without any Mms.odex?
I have changed my TouchWiz launcher manually and now I have only the TouchWiz30Launcher.apk file in my /app folder... Same for the gallery and hacked camera file.

actually i tried to copy the apk only to my non-deodexed jpx and it was working properly, of coz you'll need to rename/remove the existing Mms.apk & .odex

So I can allways install themes for deodexed firmware IF I APPLY them manually with the copy/past action for the .APK files and IF I REMOVE for all the files involved their related .ODEX files???
Can this mod be applied to aosp mms???? Anyone got the time /skill /inclination to do it???

So it worked? Cos providing feedback to the dev is important, as there might be something else which the dev may not discover during the testing.

I have installed the MMS MOD in my /system/app in replacement of the original Mms.apk, and after 3 sms it's convert to MMS .
so don't work on my JPY Insanity ROM
Would somebody please be kind enough to upload the original accuweather widget apk because the rom I'm using doesn't have it and the accuweather app from the market is different. Thanks in advance

Ur asking a good question, I extracted it from my original rom with root uninstaller dunno if you can install back by this app??
I suspect you are on Cognition.
If this' the case then you have to go to the Cognition thread and download the removed stuff from the first post and push it to /system/app either with Root Explorer or via adb.
If you take the original Samsung widgets from stock ROMs or even from past versions of Cognition itself they shouldn't work as expected...
A bit weird to me but that's the truth...
Hello, wanna share this version of Gallery3D which is not the lousy Samsung stock one. Scroll is smooth in this apk, as well as transition in opening folder.
Download the apk, move it from sdcard to system/app to replace original gallery.apk using root explorer or any root filemanager, then set permissions to read write, read, read.
Try it, it's awesome.

Not just look. I have a lot of folders and using the stock one is so ****ty because stock gallery always jumps in scrolling. CM made theirs a hell lot faster and it is not even an opinion this is better
its for deodexed roms only...,not to worry,Ive attached update.zip for stock odex ones. Flash it in recovery..[as a bonus i changed the icon to the default one,i think its better]...+1 for me and the thread starter...

but ur attached was .zip..
if i messed..dont know what to do..cause my backup was in apk..
keep a backup of the odex too...if you mess up,just replace the apk and odex using root explorer..i created zip so that you don't need to do that permission crap

Yup. Feel free to share it too. I'm on your rom but the gallery is the laggy Samsung default.

Daily briefing on latest odexed JVR is corrupted. I want to share working apk for all gingerbread roms.
How to install:
1) If you're on odexed rom, just delete system/app/infoalarm.apk and infoalarm.odex
1) If you re on deodexed rom, just delete sytem/app/infoalarm.apk
2) Download the infoalarm.apk on attachment and copy it to system/app
It's done.
Maybe this can work on cm7 roms. I didn't try it. I think it works.
Note: You need root explorer or adb shell. You can use ES file explorer - free on market.

I have a problem: I have upgraded this JW1 firmware via Kies (XEN), rooted with stock+ kernel and via root explorer I have installed infoalarm.apk in /system/app. deleting the ugly MMMsamsung, Bol and fileindex which are quite useless. I have checked the permissions and the owner in the infoalarm.apk but the software refuses to install, also when I restart the phone, anyone has any idea?
Will this work on ICS?

Hello peeps I bring you a transparent Accuweather widget today.
prereqs
device must be stock based deodexed rom that isnt chopped up too much =]
what chopped up means is the other weather apps need to be in the ROM too. no odexed roms unless you delete the odexed part lol not to complicated then reboot.
INSTALLATION
make a back up and flash it.
Also for it to show up you need the touchwiz launcher enabled.
remember a deodexed rom is important unless you take apart the zip and use root explorer to delete the odexed part then add the transparent widget to system app and say yes to overwrite. reboot .. done
