hello, I have Touch pro 2 and want to maybe update the rom with official rom (from verizon) or installing a new rom from here XDA..
My question is, if I don't like my new rom, can I just make a hardreset to get back to my current (official and default) rom ? Or it will reset the default settings of the new rom ??
thanks !
If you don't like whatever rom you flash you need to flash a new one.
Hard reset will restore the default settings for the last ROM you flashed. If that was the stock ROM, then a hard reset will set it back to defaults for that ROM. If it was a custom ROM, then the custom ROM would be restored. If you want to go back to a stock ROM after flashing a custom ROM, then just flash it back when you're ready.

I flashed SmoothLiquid Rom and the rom boots but nothing works. I am curious how to install a different rom. Is it done through Recovery ???
I am stumped
The same way you installed smoothliquid rom.
this is XXXDDDAAA
seems i am not the only to now have issues since installing their rom.....my rom installed and now my phone switches itself off after 5 secs..im curious to know if your return yours to stock rom if you get the same issue as I have
did u wipe data after flashing the rom ?
you have to think that smooth liquid is aosp and will not have gapps built in. need to download the latest gapps and flash them to get a decent set up.
Most of AOSP based rom has their GApps not included..
So download them.. And if you have a external SD Card, put them rom and GApps (and your back ups if you want) and then wipe system, data and factory reset.. Make sure you wipe those.. Because your phone won't boot if you don't..
Then install the ROM then GApps..
You better get TWRP recovery on your phone.. Makes it safer and easier to do that..
Hope that helped..
And for AOSP ROMs, I recommend
Carbon ROM (from XDA) for basic AOSP with some features..
And Jellybam (from jellybam. Com) for AOSP rom full with features (and you don't need GApps for this)

At the Moment I'm on Dirty Unicorns Rom and Twrp, I want to test the New S5 Rom and in the threat they say I have to install official Kitkat first, but if I do this and I don't like it can I restore my Dirty Unicorns backup anyway? And can somebody pls give me a step by step tutorial how to install the S5 Rom and how to change back to Dirty Unicorns?
Restoring is always possible. In the case you officially flash the kk firmware and you dont like it (which I doubt ) you first have to reflash a recovery and then restore your old system. Flashing works the same as every rom/zip. Is it a whole ROM or only the S5 launcher?

Just a theory but did you flash a CM12 ROM? Do you have a TWRP nandroid (backup) of any ROM you knew worked before?
Can you see the Settings/About phone to see build, modem or firmware? That's basically asking if it boots at all.
I ask because I'm wondering if CM12 put you on the OE1 bootloader preventing you from going back to older builds? Hopefully not. Did you try restoring the original backup? What happened?
If you're stuck without a functional TWRP backup, going back to CM12 or Lollipop Noterized Stable 2 may be an option.
If data continues to be an issue, there are some fixes for certain issues in the OP of some CM ROMs. There was a TWRP backup for OE1 but I wouldn't recommend that unless you can confirm your actual build is in fact OE1.
Otherwise, the usual backup internal memory of wanted files, TWRP backups and media to sdcard and thorough wipe of system, internal, cache and dalvik-cache and a few factory resets and nandroid restore or flash a TW build OB7 or lower build should do it.
Be careful because the next move you make could be critical without a PC. The recommended wipes plus Odin OF5 would best option if you don't mind giving up KitKat or passing on custom ROMs briefly. If my theory is right, going back to OB7 or KitKat is already not an option.

Hey guys, how can you full factory reset that it will revert back to stock recovery without accessing the custom recovery because it can't be open. Please i need a quick response to this, I noticed that my phone became buggy after a while after I flash custom recovery from this forum. Maybe a step by step with details because I'm not really good with this rooting, flashing and custom recovery thingy eheh
So you want to restore only the stock recovery and not the full rom?
Why can't the custom recovery you have now be opened?
What have you flashed on your phone, why is it buggy? What rom do you have etc..
Does your phone work? Like can you use it?
Hi,
i´m currently running miui stock rom 10.2.1 on my note 5. It is rooted with magisk, i have installed TWRP and Titanium Backup. I have the first ARB - never installed the new "bad" bootloader-firmware.
Now i want to test another custom rom for the first time. But in case i´m not satisfied, i want to get my system back in very short time without the need to make big configurations like when i flash a new rom.
What is the best and easiest way to do this? Is it enough to make a backup and flash this back or do i have to make some things inside TWRP, like format, change partition size and so on?
I want to test a Pixel Pie ROM.
Just make a backup of your system with TWRP, be careful though, if you flash Pixel Pie ROM you may have problems flashing your system back because of anti-rollback, I'd recommend updating your MIUI to 10.3.1 Pie first before flashing Pixel Pie.
