Actually, the ota update put our radios at 7.09, but it shouldn't matter.

I just got my evo today and i bought it because my girl works for a company where she can get me a demo line so i havent connected it yet.
To make a long story short, can i root with toast prior to getting my service with sprint or can that affect me in getting service??
If any one can tell me thx in advance!!!( i know its a dumb question im sure it wont just want to get the feed back just in case.....)
P.S. reason i ask its going to take like 1-2 weeks to get line and im running on WIFI, also mine came stock with OTA UPDATE straight out of the box. No one touched phone before i did...

The phone still has factory warranty on it, being that the phone has only been out for a little over two months and you get a year. So you could def get a replacement.

i think you need to call/email them for assistance.
You simply call customer service (611) from your phone tell them what's going on, and they will troubleshoot the problem with you. Now if your problem can't be fixed after the troubleshooting they should issue you a replacement. Keep in mind Manf. Warranty does not cover water damage, and if your phone is rooted I advise you to unroot.

Just a little pointer though, i just went through a similar situation. Dont bother unrooting till after you get the new phone in the mail. You'll have like 7 days to make the switch and be able to keep your phone the way you like it in the mean time.

I'm sending my phone off to HTC UK to get a GPS rebooting issue fixed.
The phone is currently a 2.1 Eclair T-Mobile handset. Am I being too hopeful that it will come back with a generic 2.2 Froyo ROM? Anyone had one repaired recently?
I went straight to HTC rather than T-Mobile hoping that I can get some vanilla debranded goodness. It does say on the paperwork the they will wipe it and update to the latest ROM.

Doubtful - my Desire was a T-Mobile branded unit, which I'd unlocked. When it was returned to me with a new mainboard (IMEI changed), it was SIM locked again and had a TMo ROM.
Regards,
Dave
B*llocks, mine's network unlocked too. They are saying it's a 3 week turn around too.
Now you are going to get one that is network locked.
Not a big problem, I got it unlocked for less than £10 last time. Was just hoping I might get Froyo.
I sent mine in to HTC three times (don't ask, they messed up two repairs).
Every time I got it back with the latest branded ROM and bootloader. Sorry
Ok cancelled the repair. Couldn't be bothered to wait 3 weeks for them to do it, I'd rather work around it and see if T-Mobile release Froyo this month.
I was constantly getting dropped to edge so i decided to try to flash a new radio
Bad choice and it going to crazy on me so I flashed a couple more. And the problem just got worse and worse.
Right now i factory reset it and flashed it with a signed Bell rom from HTC but its still going EDGE on me....
SO what do I have to do to return to stock radio??? I though flashing a signed rom will revert it back. my phone is even unrooted now....
Help.
I think you're right, that flashing the shipped/official ROM flashes the radio also. What does it day under Settings>About phone>Software information>Baseband version?
Make sure under menu/setting/WirelessNetwork/mobileNetwork/ that use 2g only is NOT checked.

it says 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.18_M3
OK NVM I found what was causing the Problem. Turns out one of the ATT towers was getting fixed. I plugged my sim in every phone I had and they were all going crazy on edge.
Yet another reason people should call their carrier first to make sure it isn't an issue on their end

Ya I wish I had. But the 1 hour after I flashed a new radio it happened.. so i was like **** RADIO Problem.......
Now i gotta reroot reflash and reinstall........ DAMN U ATT
haha yeah, I had the same at my old place... I didn't check if 3g was working before I got home one day and when I tried to call or text it gave an error. I still could call my carrier but they didn't know anything about repairs or whatever. 1 week later the problem was solved though. Had to set my phone at 2g only during that week
Hi
I'm with my third Gnex now and this and the 2nd one already came with a unlocked bootloader. Is that normal for a replacement phone? I kust gpt the phone without any package and without battery and back cover. When I returned the 2nd one I locked it again.
So I wanted to now if thats necessary? I got my phone at vodafone germany

Hmm I remember people getting replacement evo 3d with s off I think its some what common I always restored my evos to stock when I had sprint but I guess some people are just braver

Could be possible. They might just be lazy when they're re-flashing refurb phones and just leaving the bootloader unlocked.
