I had a i890 before the desire hd and there was a secret menu where I could turn the mic volume down when recording loud music so that the sound didn't get all distorted, just now when you rercord bands and stuff it is just a noise, I know there is a mute button but whats the point off turning the volume off when recording a video, so is there a way of doing this or a app that does it?

how to boost volume in desire ????
Seriously? You have a settings don't you. And what was wrong with the idea to post both questions in one thread?
Boosting the volume (for the speaker) means the sound will get very-very distorted. It already buzzes like mad when at full volume.
If you want to boost the headphones volume (when playing music), search the Market for a music player with a sound EQ.

Click to collapse
what do you mean by connection?
when i make a call
Please make sure its not a hardware / physical problem... such as dust inside the mic hole, or a faulty mic.
I could give a modded acoustic profile to increase mic volume... BUT, I would search Sony support in first place. And use a modded acoustic in last place.. since a low volume mic is not normal... I never had any complain about volume,
But quality is another story, and it depend mostly on Service Provide quality
Sometimes I plug my headphones in to watch a video, and there's no volume. I can raise and lower the media volume, toggle between sound / vibrate / silent with no difference. Once I reboot the tablet I have sound on my headphones again. Really a strange problem!
So like whenever I'm in a call and use the rear speaker I can't control the volume of it. It's always so loud and have to result to using headphones. Anyone have any ideas?
I just put a case on my g8 and noticed this cutout... what sensor is this?
Microphone, which complements the two on the top and bottom.
Using the audio recorder, you'll see it only records mono when the phone is vertical. I believe it's using this long mic then. When you turn to landscape, recording switches to stereo, using the mics in the head and chin of the phone.
If you shoot video or record audio, you'll hear how great the sound recording is. I could be wrong, but I think that all 3 mics are constantly in use for spatial sound recording and background noise reduction.
It's a noise canceling microphone, or far field/wide range mic, for spying/listening for assistant input from a far. Or both.
