While that may be correct, really has nothing to do with apn settings.
While I can't help you on the iPhone. To edit the e4gt apn settings try dialing ##data##. If you know your 6 digit spc/msl you can edit the apn settings in that menu.

Honestly it has been so long that I did that that I don't remember. I sold my epic touch like a year and a half ago.
But this thread should have all the info you need:

Install anycut from play store... Or use a launcher that supports shortcuts... Make a shortcut for settings/apn....

None of my voice command applications recognizes "Open APNs" as a proper command. Is there another way to access APNs on GB 2.3.6 with the People's ROM v 2.22 ?

Those are the stock apn settings for each carrier.
Settings > more> mobile networks > access point names.
To check imei.
Settings > about phone> status> imei (anything other than "0" is good)

In one of the things I was searching, a Bell website came up and told me to also set "MMS protocol: WAP 2.0". Do I need to do that?

Still won't send. What network mode should I have? I am currently using GSM/WCDMA preferred. I have two other options:
LTE/WCDMA
LTA/GSM/WCDMA
By the way, I prefer to use 3G because LTE drains my battery I heard. And I can't use 2G because the signal completely disappears.

Select lte/gsm/wcdma and try that. Worry about disabling lte after you can send a text.
Are you using the stock mms or a third party app?
Some third party apps don't play nicely with some Roms

Free thanks there....
With this problem I have found that I have had to completely delete the APN and then add it back in and reboot. Delete, add it back in manually and then reboot.
You might have to reboot between deleting and re-adding.

I have one labeled "Bell Flex"
APN: inet.bell.ca
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: Same as "Bell" APN
MMS Port: Not set
Can I delete that one?
Not familiar with Bell APN settings but I'm sure they can be googled. I deleted all the APN's in my phone and only added then one I needed.
I believe you can restore defaults at any point as well.

In case you haven't found the Family Mobile APN Settings, you can find them here:
https://www.myfamilymobile.com/Support/DeviceSupport/DeviceSupport.aspx?device=f52aa35a-7dec-482c-a9f8-919b5b79229e
They seem to update this regularly, as the MMSC has recently changed on their settings. You can also try Tweakker.

I want to create a new APN that user IPv4. But an not sure what all the default fields are and which if any are necessary.

Check out Tweakker (Play Store) it may help you find the correct fields. It will generate an APN for you.

Interesting app, thanks.
I am trying to change the APN settings to ipv4/ipv6 but when I open the APN settings from the settings menu it shows a lock next to the T mobile APN. It's a developer edition purchased from HTC so it's not locked. I am using it with T mobile. The option for changing the APN is greyed out. I guess I can manually enter the APN ad a new APN. Has anyone else encountered this. I did a Google search but only come up with an issue with Verizon version.
Does anyone have the T Mobile US APN handy? Also look at the screen shots I attached.
