So I was using a cooked MCR ROM, but wanted to factory reset to start fresh. I went into the bootloader and selected factory reset and now it loops the boot animation over and over.
I've tried different ROM's, I've re-partitioned the SD (at one point I was seeing errors about not being able to access Apps2SD) and each ROM will boot up, take a long while on the first animation and then loop itself afterwards.
This isn't a normal boot loop, it doesn't actually reboot, just loop the animation.
Any ideas?
well yes you will need to flash your rom again, can you actually access your clockwork recovery menu by holding down the volume key when the system boots up ?
(fYI, it may come up with the with fastboot screen first)
oooo sorry forgot to mention, youll need to go into the recovery menu and also format the following by selecting mounts and storage before you reflash
- Data
- Cache
- Boot
- System
then once you reflash you should have it sorted, some boot animations do loop on first start up, if it takes longer then say 10 mins then you know its done, unfortunately there is no sure way to tell.
Okay thanks, wasn't sure about formatting boot and system.

After flashing AOKP build 6 and the gapps package, everything was running fine until the phone randomly shut down and rebooted.
After turning back on the boot animation continued, figured I'd wait it out and it still continued and after several minutes and pulling the battery I tried holding down the Volume Down and Power Button but the image says it's downloading please don't turn off this item. After waiting and waiting the phone shuts off and starts the reboot and the boot animation continues again.
This has never happened before and not sure exactly how to get the phone running again. What should I do?

if you can still get to recovery(power+both volume keys, then select recovery mode with volume keys, click power to confirm), try wiping cache and dalvik cache and reflashing JUST your rom, if it boots DONT flash the same gapps package, download a new one: http://tinyw.in/C7XP
I was able to open recovery
1. advanced
2. wipe dalvik cache
3. install zip
4. reboot
it's still running just the animation at this point. I have the same gapps package, didn't flash it, just the rom and it's still not loading. I have a feeling it was the wiping cache and dalvik cache part, is there a step I'm missing?
Wipe?
I looked at another forum, I'm guessing this is what I'm suppose to do for a full wipe?
Volume up, power button, and home button all pressed together for a couple of seconds.
Wipe the cache partition
Go to Advanced and wipe the dalvik and batt stats
Go to mounts and storage and select it.
Go to format / system and select it.
Scroll down to format system and select yes.
Go to format / data and select it
Scroll down to format data and select yes.
Go to format / cache and select it.
Scroll down to format cache and select yes.
Now go back and install the rom from the internal or external sd card.
If I do this and it still doesn't work, will I have to worry some more?
If you wipe data you will no longer have any sdcard contents. Then you come crying back here and want to know how to fix that. The easy solution here? Boot to your custom recovery and do 'factory reset'

And wiping battery stats, cache, dalvik... Is a myth.

I woke up today to a bootloop. After pulling out the battery, I cant turn it on, it was stuck at the google logo. I thought it was some rom issue or something. When I had the time, in the afternoon, I just boot to recovery, and wiped data+sd card. Turns out sd card was not wiped.
Just now, I found a way to boot it. (AFTER WIPING DATA) I used the gnex toolkit and boot with insecure image, and guess wat? My old rom boots. Everything was the way it was, and then it crashed and stuck on the google logo again.(I made sure i wiped things two to three times, data and sd) I did a few experiments:
1) Flash using ODIN
2) Flash CWM using toolkit--it changed back to twrp after reboot
3) Changing the icon on my homescreen after boot--- everything was the same again after booting
4) Flash stock image using toolkit
5) Wipe data using manual adb
6) Try to lock my bootloader
My phone unexpectly turned off and then it entered into a bootscreen loop.
I just tried to flash a stock rom, so I could just erease everything and make it like new.
The problem is that after any flash, or any new rom I install, it keeps into this bootscreen loop. I read that I need to go into the recovery mode and make a Wipe, o data factory reset, etc.
The problem here is that I can't get into the recovery mode in non of the roms i've used. I even tried the last Phils recovery (philz_touch_6.07.9-jflteusc.tar.md5 ) and it dindn't work either (Even unchecking auto reboot and trying to enter to recovery mode after flash)
I press Vol +, Home, and Power, and it shows me this:
Blue line: RECOVERY BOOTING...
Yellow line: Set Warranty Bit: recovery
THIS IS IN EVERY ROM I'VE TRIED.
Then it get full of different colors pixels, and then just restart, and all the looping starts again.
I can't show you the photos I made because I'm a new user in xda forums.
Please help me!
While trying to flash a ROM , I formatted the system partition through TWRP and accidentally rebooted the phone. I was running MIUI 7 in the phone previously. I have TWRP backup of system and boot but the phone is stuck at bootlogo and power button volume down combo fires factory mode. I guess I deleted both the recovery and the OS. Phone is getting charged , as the battery indicator is displayed when plugged. Is there anyway to recover my A1?
Sorry if the question is a repeat. Any help would be appreciated.

yo man,
first of all for getting into recovery mode is ; power off your device > wait few seconds > then press power + volume up button, there you go.
then, if youve wiped your device's system partitions via twrp , nothin to worry, just download any rom, put it to your sd card, reboot recovery, wipe everything except sd card, choose downloaded zip to flash, swipe to confirm, once the flashing rom completes reboot your device. :good:
Okay, so my phone just crashed randomly while in snap chat... so it goes to boot and will not get past the boot logo... all it does is try to boot then stop and try again over and over. I can get into fastboot and flash stuff but I can not get into recovery, same problem, cant pass boot logo. I was able to access twrp once (dumb me did not backup internal storage) so I downloaded pure nexus rom and everything I needed. (I was on lineage 7.1.1) So I wipe and stuff like usual (not internal storage) then I start to flash it then it stopped when it was trying to flash "system" now I'm back on the problem I had earlier... can't get to recovery, cant charge, cant boot because theirs is like not system, I don't want to clear internal storage but I need to fix this.
Help
Thanks,
