I have been trying to weed out an SMS issue with B.O.S. HD ROM I decided to post the question here when i found that it may not be isolated to just the BOS HD ROM but other HD ROM's also, specifically EViO HD ROM.
When sending a text message my EVO wont message split. I can send texts shorter that 160 characters with out a problem, but when they get longer than 160 and it's supposed to split the message up into multiple texts i'm getting an error message.
SMS Error
Error. Message not sent. Network not responding. Saved in Undelivered messages. Please try again.

Cause code: 34

I have gone through a lot of different attempts to correct it which you can follow from about page 94 or so in the BOS thread

In my notifications,
Downloading message : PXT from xxxx (+phone number here)
0%
Then just dissapeares but I don't have a new sms in my mailbox.
So I messaged the person again(was expecting a SMS anyway) and a while later, got the same thing in my notifications but this time a SMS in my box saying "PXT" with an attachment, though when I click it, all I get is text (which has the message body in it).
I'm assuming its a picture message, but how did the text get converted into a picture, and did I fail to download the first message?
I doubt it's the other side's fault but we were having a conversation and halfway through this happened.
Somewhat confused here as to what's happening
This is REALLY beginning to annoy me. I'm from the UK and have a touch pro 2 with t-mobile (though I believe its unbranded), and many times when i attempt to send a text i get a message saying "your text message could not be sent" and then below it says "synchronization error". It mostly occurs with the touch flo message interface and I presume somethings happened thats led to it sometimes mixing up my SMS and email (hotmail), as sometimes when the text isn't sent it redirects me to my mail inbox.
Ive tried a soft reset but the error persists. How do I fix this (aside from a hard reset?)?
many thanks!
welll, anyone?
I've been having trouble with SMS, with any rom really...
SMS works fine until I type a long message; in which case the message takes forever trying to send, and then I get an error message saying that the message couln't be sent.
Please help!

Are you using a 2.2 based rom?
SMS only lets you have 165 characters. anything over this is converted to an MMS. I have had some issues and a few others have had issues with MMS in some of the 2.2 roms. I haven't seen a for sure fix but I havent looked yet. i would try on the CM thread and start there (if using froyo)
The thread title is the error I'm getting. This, from what I can tell, is not the wifi issue.
I'm stock, rooted and I use GoSMS.
I have noticed recently that when I try to send a picture message that is the large clear resolution that is shows up pending for a long time and eventually wont send, probably due to it's large size. To resolve this, I have started doing the smallest resolution, and thus smallest size when I know I'm going to be sending it to someone.
This works to make sure it get sent, if it decides it can. I get the "Can't send message right now. Too many many unsent multimedia messages" To try and fix it I close GoSMS and all other apps, but usually it takes a reboot to get it to go through. There shouldn't be any messages trying to send, as they will usually give an error saying the message couldn't be sent. I don't like to delete messages so I have one thread with 8000+ messages, mix of sms and mms, so going through and deleting all of the sent messages isn't really an option.
I cannot replicate the problem right now to test and see if using the stock messaging app would fix the problem.
Is there some folder or something that stores the pending outgoing messages that I could look at and see the "unsent multimedia messages" are that cause this error?
Is there some other underlying issue, some kind of buffer, relationship between received mms and sending, or anything else like this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Sometimes when I am sending a text message, I'll compose the message and hit Send. Hours later, I will come back and the phone is still trying to send the message. I'm not talking about a failed sending of the message, the phone is still trying to send the message. The circle just spins and spins.
If I delete and re-send the message, or send another message, it usually fixes the problem. Restarting the phone flushes all of these hanging messages out and successfully send them.
My wife has the same phone (different color), with the same software, stock and root, and hers does this as well. We have both tried several text message apps, and they all do this.
Any idea as to what could be causing this or how I might fix this?
Thanks much!
