[Q] HTC IME Mod [Working]

See later posts... I forgot to switch to the Froyo version...
I picked up a G2 this morning, and I've been tinkering and toying, trying to see what would work and what wouldn't. Long story short, tried to install the HTC IME Mod that I'd previously used on my Vibrant and it didn't work. It installed, but then promptly FC'd as soon as I tried to actually use it.
Any ideas?
btw...My phone is not rooted and I hate posting n00b threads, but I can't stand Swype.

you need the froyo version, the version you were using on the vibrant was for eclair

Yup. Im using this on my G2. Best vk by far.

That did it. Forgot about the whole version change from Eclair to Froyo. Thanks.

Hey guys, I have a question regarding this. I have the Froyo installed on mines and everything is working good except when i go to the calibration tool, I always get a Forced Closed. Are you guys also experiencing this?

Worked for me just fine. Do you have both HTC_IME and Clicker installed?
Try uninstall and re-installing both.

It's on the teamdouche nightlies and I was wondering what it was, is it like CM6 final? and they're only going to work on CM7 now? Or like what?

Looking @ the size of the file, it must be cyanogen 7

That was also my guess but I'd much rather have somebody who knows for sure, I'm about to do a backup and flash it though so I'm not even too worried about it now. I'll post back here when I've done it

if its the nightly thn yeah its CM7
currently running it

It IS the first nightly of CyanogenMod 7 (Gingerbread, 2.3.1). This can be used as a daily ROM. I'm running it now and I have been running it since last night. Some apps have to be updated to work on Gingerbread though.

New to EVO~Is 004 camera working with CM7 nightlies?

Hello everyone... Just got my EVO today, its 004 hardware, researched and there was talk of new drivers not released by HTC to make the camera work. My question is simple, and I've searched, but the massive amount of threads here w/ Evo, I couldn't find an answer. Will the camera work with CM7 nightlies and hardware 004? Thanks for your response. ~m00n

Can anyone help me out? I know for seasoned Evo users, this is a simple question, but I've searched and can not find a clear answer. Have the camera and wimax issues been resolved for the nightlies? Any help will be greatly appreciated...

If you go to the CM 7 with WiMAX in my sig, it will work with hw0004. That being said DO NOT flash the extra kernel as it does not work on hw0004.

When I follow the link for the CM7 w/ Wimax in your sig, the listed bugs seem that Wimax isn't stable unless plugged in. Have you found this to be an issue on your end or have you found a way around it?

Its still in alpha stages, so best thing i found is after the phone has been on a long time, i just reboot if 4g doesn't connect. Its random, some times it connects no problem, other times it requires the reboot. Thanks for the thanks.

This rom is actually my daily driver but with the Savaged.Zen kernal. I find no real faults other than when turning off wimax, to get 3G to work, I have to reboot my phone. Not really a big deal for me. Else wise WiMax has been very stable for me. That Kernal, i've been pulling 7 down and 1 up and my camera works just fine. You don't have to use the Kernal they say you have too. Just a heads up.
Oh ment to put that I myself am running a white evo with 0004 HW

(mod) wifi tether 3.1 beta 11 now working :) faster than built in check it out

Whats up guys today found out wifi theter 3.1-pre113 working on my sgs2 and all i can say its running 5 times faster than the built in wifi-tether..
This is the instruction to make it work on our device:
Download the yellow wifi-tether apk version 3.1 beta 11 from google..
Then install it on the phone,
now open the app
then menu-settings then change the device profile to epic touch 4g
done.
Start the app then enjoy your 5 times faster wifi-tether!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOT WHOT
BELOW IS THE APK FOR YOU GUYS

No problems with the tether on the customized/themed ROM's I've tried so far. Still bottlenecked by the 4G, about 7-8Meg on a good day but I definitely get that on my Touchpad going through the phone.

Note that beta 7 has been running fine over here since it was released, on the SGS2 profile. I tried beta 11 a couple weeks ago and for some reason had trouble connecting.
Is there something tweaked in the latest beta and/or profile change?
Also, not sure why you've renamed the file attached, since you've confused things a bit...in your text, you refer to "beta 113", which is the experimental version (Dec 28). The attached apk filename implies a date of Jan 12, which is the featured "beta 11" release date.

just downnload the apk n install it its the 3.1beta11

How is it 5x faster please explain. The built in tether works fine for me.

install this apk and you will see how faster it goes

dosnt work with that profile, thats why you have to choose the epic touch 4g so it can work good

Will check this out. Used to Tether all the time after dropping Comcast. Got Verizon now for a hell of a lot cheaper, although less of the good channels. 5 times faster? Have to check this out....

I was browsing around the fourms and found miui v5 4.4.4. Its working for the VM s3, not sure about others but heres to all that want 4.4.4 miui v5!

Works great on my Boost S3 as far as I can tell. I don't have service activated on it though and no root.
Edit: found how to activate root in the settings. Still no real problems. Had it freeze a couple times but I was downloading a 2gb torrent file. No reboots or any other problems so far. Love miui. Thanks for the find.

Sprint phone. But, I do believe VM is a subsidy of Sprint, so I suppose it would be safe to presume that it does. I'll get mine in a few days. Can't wait! This and PAC ROM are my most favorite ROMs to use.

Yes. To my knowledge sprint owns VM, It SHOULD work for the sprint version but I am not 100%. Just try it and let us all know! Best of luck!

Been a while but I'm just hanging out so... This is a d2lte rom which means it should be compatible with all the d2 variants.

Got it installed and it's working great. So far so good!

The only issue I've come across with the latest update is that the keyboard freezes sometimes; as well as the front facing camera. Other than that, it's pretty solid.

I used google keyboard so i never had a problem with that... as far as the camera yes the oval shape got pretty annoying
