I flashed the gingerbread keyboard, but I think I'm going to have to go back to regular Latin_IME from froyo since it doesn't have ANY words with apostrophes in the dictionary, and predicts "im" before "I'm". It's incredibly irritating. Anyone else having the same issue with cm6.1?

After flashing a new ROM to my Desire, I've gained the Gingerbread keyboard.
Have to say I find it much better than the normal Desire one.
However, I had tried a keyboard which has a couple of features I liked
but are missing from Gingerbread.
The modified keyboard allowed swipe gestures which could be mapped. In my case I mapped 1 to delete a word, another to delete a sentence and a 3rd to close the keyboard.
Wondering if anyone has seen something like this for the Gingerbread keyboard?
Not available?
I guess that's a no then :-(
Perhaps I should look at how to make my own.
Hey Guys
searched the forum but couldnt find anything about it so heres my new thread
using GingerVillain rom with the HTC Ime mod but sometimes cannot repeat the bug, when using the custom imitation of stock keyboard bar, the prediction windows with the words disappear from that bar until i kill the keyboard, i can type etc, but i just cant see the possible correction words, i know its not a big deal but it does get annoying when every couple texts u have to do that.
anyone knows how to solve this?
ps. do you guys know how to get the dictionary working in the stock keyboard? i find it more accurate than the ime mod but i.e. polish dictionary doesnt work
Hey there,
I wonder why it's so hard to implement something like a txt-import or a common user dictionary (which doesn't depend on each keyboard itself)!? Is there any way to import words to the gingerbread stock keyboard or to the go keyboard? Sometimes I simply can't switch to try different keyboard because I would have to retype all of my words again, which is a real pain. When I was a keyboard app developer, I would first implement a import function, which really should be easy to do... Or is there a hack way to somehow interfer with the data of a app and simply edit the data-files!?
Thanks!
Hey all, this isn't really gnex specific but I have a question about the stock jb keyboard: I'm really liking it and all, but having just come from iOS there's something that irks me a bit. Specifically while it does autocorrect on typing a space or punctuation, it doesn't do so when, for example, hitting send in the text message or email editor. This is annoying for me because I'd become used to that behaviour in iOS and now am sending off texts in which the last word is essentially gibberish...
Any way to change this in the stock keyboard? Alternatively, is there a different (and good) keyboard with this feature?
Cheers

Add a space at the end. It will not auto correct until it knows you are done with the word. What you are describing is predictive text and it does not "auto predict". It will predict and show words above the keyboard that you can choose, but that is all.
Hello everyone, a friend of mine made me notice that predictive text does not work on my stock keyboard. The phone is clean, no root, no rom, everything's stock (4.2.2).
The option in the keyboard settings is checked, but when I write a word and then I insert a space, there is no word suggestion on the top of the keyboard. Automatic correction when I'm writing a word works fine, predictive text doesn't.
Is there something I can do?
Do not say to install swiftkey or any other keyboard, I love the stock one and I just wanted to know why predictive text doesn't work, thanks

Just tried, it's not working anyway...
What language are you using?
I have the feeling that it isn't fully implemented/working for languages other than English.
I tried to write an e-mail in German and I didn't get a single prediction.
After switching to English I got them.
