Right so ive managed to flash my rom a few times before but this time my recovery mode seems to be dead since i get a big warning, triangle, xclamation sign and what seems to be a lying phone next to it...this all started when i tried flashrec 1.1.3 and backup was failing and also restoring a custom recovery image was failing... so i figured i try to fastboot, i keep gettin errors like "too many links", "remote not allow" etc because of this i cant seem to be able to flash my SPL or recovery image either, ive tried just about everything, my phone doesnt seem to be rooted but if so how did i manage to flash the recovery and rom before? My phone is a HTC Magic 32B Google branded with a 1.33.0007 SPL
Any suggestions or help would be very much appreciated. Sorry if i posted in a wrong section, but i didnt know where this would acctually fit in...
Edit1: realized the screen with the phone lying down and triangle with xclamation mark WAS the recovery screen, for some reason had to press Home+Power for the console to come up and also it is realy weird how it is now a very primitive recovery mode, last time i checked i swear i had amon_RA's older version which was the 1.2.3G one i believe...problem still remains i still can not run update.zips or even sappimg.nbh's (i remember havin to unroot beforeso i thought id give it a go) ive tried 2 different ones by now and they keep saying update failed...i am really confused as to what has happened to my phone lol its still turns on and works so i guess its not bricked but if its not...do u reckon it might be the SD Card?
Tried to do a battery rest as per the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755903
I think i did something wrong.
Phone is currently stuck on a screen with a picture of a phone with a red triangle with an exclamation mark.
What do i do?
You're in recovery, press vol up and power and you get a small menu where you can select to apply the clockwordmod update.zip to reset your battery stats (assuming you're rooted)
Thanks so much. I thought something went horribly wrong.
My phone wasnt rooted, so i guess i shouldnt have even tried to reset the battery stats.
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
A long time ago, I believe I updated my HTC Hero with a custom ROM.
I currently have
- 2.1-update1
- SW: 3.32.405.2
I just sold the phone and tried to bring it back to factory settings.
But I can't.
It won't re-initialize and I can't even delete my GMAIL account.
In short, I don't care which version is installed, I just want the phone to be updated with an official ROM, so that its new owner can turn it on and configure it as if it was knew.
The phone is NOT rooted.
If anyone has a hint, I will consider it my XMas present.
Thanks a lot!

This is the desire forum, not hero.

Either wipe it from recovery or use a RUU http://www.shipped-roms.com/downloa...io_63.18.55.06P_6.35.15.11_release_signed.exe
Look it up, it's easy.

Mine is doing this too,
I tried rooting during the downgrade process (Because I had gingerbread) next thing that happened was when it would start up, it would take a very long time for the white htc screen to show up, and would vibrate (constantly) for 2 full minutes. the white htc screen would then show "quietly brilliant" under the logo and boot. but now it's going to the phone with red exclamation mark in a triangle. Phone is not rooted, hit power and volume up, went to update zip, told me invalid...
what's next?
*edit*
p.s. htc inspire 4g.
also before black screen w/ triangle I ran hack-ACE to put stock ruu back.
restarted again, and now it's usuable, but still does the looooong boot up.
No touch Screen Sensation
Hi forum I am in desperate need of some help. I have an HTC Sensation with a non responsive screen. There was a software update I believe on the forum that claims to resolve this problem. I want to try an upgrade or something hoping my screen issue can be resolved. My problem is how can I upgrade a stock ICS firmware without the use of the touch screen or touch buttons. Or even root the phone from the boot screen.
Second question can I load my external sd card in another Android phone like to load the software on it and then insert it into the Sensation and then linstall it from the boot screen?
Thanks for your help

Hello everyone this is my first post and thread so please bear with me.I have a big problem i need some help with.I rooted my desire about 8 months ago with unrevoked and everything went great i was using defrost then moved to gingervillainn .i tried to update to 1.6 through villain app as normal but for some reason clockworkmod has stopped working i just get a blank screen then when i press the power button it says clockworkmod recovery v2.5.0.1 in white text i then have to pull the battery to reboot the phone.I have tried to use it manualy by turning it on with the power and volume buttons held and selecting recovery but i get the same result.Same thing with rom manager.iv used rom manager to try and upgrade clockwork mod it says its succesfull but its still not working.my phone has became very buggy and i cant flash any roms or restore a nandroid backup.Any help would be very appreciated also when i press the supper user app it force closes is it possible that my phone has become unrooted somehow please help as the phone is almost unusable
still no luck fixing clockworkmod
hello everyone iv also tried rooting the phone again with unrevoked 3 its says the root is running but i still cant use clockwork mod.I was going to try and unroot the phone from the guide in this forum but htc sync doesnt recognise my phone because im not running a htc rom i guess.i really have ran out off ideas on what to do.Has anybody here had the same problem and managed to fix it?Any ideas would be great.iv got super user permissions back so i know the phones still rooted.can anybody out there help?!!!!!
Try an RUU flash, you will lose root etc but it might get it working again

hi,
i've got a Htc desire HD.
i've tried many diffrent roms and played with it a bit,
but now i got some serious trouble.
i just installed the ultimate droid rom to check it out,
but then my power button stopt working.
It did once before but i got it fixed with a factory reset so i tried that now and it worked for like 2 seconds and so i pulled out the battery to reboot. but then it got in to a bootloop, so that sucked.
then i thought i just install the rom again through the hboot but the biggest one is that when it searches for the PD98IMG.zip it doesnt find it...
soooo.... what i'm a gonna do now?
i've tried to find a way to install a rom through adb but ofcourse adb can't find my device...
any ideas anyone?
You cannot flash PD98IMG.zip in recovery, you have to do it in hboot. If the device does not recognize the PD98IMG, then format your SD card again to FAT32 with full format (no quick format). You can also try another SD.
thanks for the fast reply.
i'm sorry i meant hboot, i'm no gonne try your advice.
when i'm done i'll let you now!
well..
i tried it, with 2 diffrent sd cards but it didn't work

I tried to unlock the bootloader on my device a little over a week ago - bricked it completely.
Had updated HBOOT and everything went fine - 'success' message appeared, etc.... Then my handset died and it wouldn't switch back on; it just flashed on and off repeatedly when powered on and I couldn't stop it, unless I pulled the battery. Couldn't access bootloader, couldn't do anything.
Took it to the local Three shop and they wouldn't touch it. So, I chanced my luck with HTC and was upfront about what had happened, i.e. I'd started the bootloader unlock process using their own HTC Dev software.
I've just got the 'phone back and they had to replace the motherboard. Haven't charged me for picking it up, via UPS, the repair OR sending it back to me, also via UPS.
I had hoped they'd ship back with the bootloader unlocked but they haven't! Doh.
Ah well, can't complain. HTC have definitely earned my gratitude, though, and I'll no doubt stick with them in future. I've just got to remove all the crappy pre-loaded software again.
so i basically have a bricked phone damn i needed it only phone i have n probably will have for awhile i had so much important #'s , notes , ext... im clueless to either tell HTC the truth or just buy another android phone idk :/
any ideas?? is it bricked or not i just need help why isn anyone paying this post any attention .. where is all the pros?

You haven't even given details. Did you root? Custom ROM?
Try flashing an RUU.
My experience
This weekend I bricked my phone almost also.
Just installed a new version of my ROM to test and then it hanged or so.
When trying power on (normally and with volume down), nothing happened and I got the 3 vibrates.
I removed my SD card and then the phone would boot again
I really hope I don't get that anymore
BTW: my SD card is really old, around 2 years or more (so that may be the cause)
Format your SD card, then see if that works
