CyanogenMod V6.1.0-RC1 is working very well on my mytouch slide. I love everything about it except the Bluetooth is not working with the headunit in my car (Pioneer aftermarket).
I am wondering if there were changes to the Bluetooth between RC1 and RC3 such that it would be worth installing RC3 to see if it helps. I could not find a specific changelog on these different versions when I went on the website with the CyanogenMod wiki. All I could find was a general changelog for Cyanogen Mod 6.1.
Like I said, I am very happy with RC1 so I would only want to install RC3 if it could fix my bluetooth connection in my car.
Thanks for any help.
Very much so! Bluetooth is fully functional and as such should work with your Pioneer.

Thank you so much, heybobitsme.
I loaded CyanogenMod6.1-RC3. The Bluetooth works perfect in my car now. I am so very happy. CyanogenMod is fantastic!

Hey guys!
I use Pandora frequently, and love the quality on my BakedSnack9.7 ROM, as well as on other 2.1 ROMs. But after upgrading to Cyanogen's 2.2 RC1, I am noticing a STARK loss in sound quality. I also previously noticed this on Ava's 2.2 release some weeks ago. Does anyone know the way to get this quality back?
The only differences I see between the 2.1 ROMs and the 2.2 ROMs I used are the following:
2.1 ROMs are Sense-based. 2.2 ROMs are AOSP-based. So along with the upgraded versions of the OS, that is the only other change. Could it be a framework issue? Or better quality drivers on the Sense ROMs?
If anyone has a workaround to getting the better quality back, it would be AWESOME!
Any help would be amazing! Thanks!
There seems to be a 'fix' on the Nexus One forum:

The fix also works on EVO's running 2.2. It also fixes the SiriusXM application.

Thanks! I was hoping I would find a fix for the audio quality in the CyanogenMod thread but I didn't even have to check there!
Thanks for the help guys! Just did the build.prop fix, then pushed back and restarted. Works great! I can now listen to my Pandora playlist on my work speakers again!
Hey guys now since we have 2.2 root woohoo!! I am in the process of deciding which rom I am going to flash or kernel. Baked snacks as gotten my attention with its battery kernel. However my questions is this, with baked snacks will the wiimote be able to link up with PSXDROID or is CM V6 the only ROM that fixes the bluetooth error. Now I have read that its is because of the way bluetooth was programmed with sense, however because this is a custom rom and in the updates it states fixed bluetooth I am curious.
HAD had that rom before nopewiimote bluetooth doesn't work

As I understand it, CyanogenMod 6 is the only ROM that has incorporated a more standard Bluetooth stack. All the rest are still using the crippled one from HTC. So CM6 is the only option for expanded BT connections beyond headsets.
This is what I believed as well just wanted to confirm this. Thanks for the input guys and I do appreciate it.
Hey Everyone,
So I just picked up a MyTouch Slide for my Mother (Yes I'm a good son) and I need 3 things in a ROM as a must for her.
She wants a very large font & so I know I can just go into the build.prop file and edit the density to 240. But I've tried it with sense roms and for some reason, nothing looks right & it doesn't work. I tried it on a Vanilla Froyo rom and it looks perfect.
2ndly, she is in an area where she gets like 1 bar at her house so I need Wifi Calling (I use it on my sensation and it works flawlessly). This is a must!
And then 3rdly it needs to be able to hotspot tether for her new wifi tablet.
So 3 things, again...
1. A vanilla froyo/gingerbread rom (for lcd density purposes)
2. A rom that supports wifi calling & works!
3. Hotspot tethering.
Please let me know what you suggest. Thanks for your help in advance!
Have you tried CyanogenMod? CM7 is gingerbread and I think its meant to be pretty close to vanilla, but with extra features. I would assume the font fix would work with CM.
I'm running the latest CM7 stable (found here: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=espresso)
And I flashed this wifi fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1177650 (the file linked to in the first post is flashable with clockworkMOD recovery v2.5.0.7)
I have Wifi calling working as well. I don't think it comes with CM, but you can install it and it works.
Also, the wifi hotspot is built into CM7 as well, or you can install an app for that.
edit: oh heh, i just saw your other thread and you got some good replies there.
Awesome thank you sir! So is everything on Cm7 stable? I've heard its hit and miss?

I'd say CM7 stable is pretty good. I haven't had any issues with it. If you do have issues with wifi or gps - there are fixes for those (the wifi fix is linked above).
....with working bluetooth. I love the paranoid android and the AOKP roms Look and feel, but the lack of bluetooth is a deal breaker for me as i use it heavily for work.
So does anyone know of any roms that have that look and feel plus working bluetooth?

CMX.1 & AOSP Liquid Smooth Are Available. Should Have Working Bluetooth And A2DP. Good Luck
I'm running Paranoid Android now, and Bluetooth is working fine. Its the unofficial PA from the ATT Note2 section.
Was also working fine with JellyBam and JellyBeer too.

I'm currently running CM-10-20130217 with ns4g-1029 and I'm trying to get wireless tethering working and not having any luck. I probably will upgrade to 10.1 soon (installed it early release and it was a little buggy for me so I switched back to 10.0).
Do I need to upgrade the kernel to support tethering?
What app do you recommend for tethering with this config?
If I upgrade to the latest CM10.1 what modem/kernel do I need to run to support tethering? Same app question for tethering.
I did some searching and couldn't find a specific answer on this.
Thanks
Wifi tether report
I just tested wifi tether on a 4.2.2 based rom, Slim Rom, and it works.
I believe Slim Rom is based somewhat on CM 10.1, so 10.1 should work also.
I just used built-in wifi tether option on slim rom.
I'm also on NS4G modem, but with latest EFFSI kernel for NS4G.
If your thinking of switching up to 10.1, please know that bluetooth will be more flaky, but still work.
Otherwise, 10.1 is way better in many respects.
Also, you may want to consider going Slim Rom instead of CM 10.1.
It's more stripped down, with great battery life, and the extras it includes are actually useful.
I've tried quite a few Epic roms, including 10.1 nightlies, and it's my favorite.
You could check out the slim rom development thread before deciding
