Hey guys,
So as the title states I'd love to see the MIUI dialer ported over to Sense. I think that's the one thing that I loved most about MIUI. It just looks very sleek and polished and dare I say the Sense dialer looks dated in comparison. If anyone can help me out, that'd be amazing.

It's closed source, it couldn't be ported. However it could be closely replicated...
I think the dialer is replicated in Ultimate Droid 2.x, you should download the ROM and pull the apk for the dialer and try it on your ROM

Just wondering if anyone has looked into porting the new Droid X dialer off its official rom for evo use yet.

AOSP yes, but looks to have t9 dialing which could kill the need for dialer one and put cm one step closer to converting sense users

Getting my EVO today and coming over from the Droid 1 community. Looking for a stock 2.2 ROM for the EVO WITHOUT Sense and full functionality.
I'm a fan on plain and simple and don't need all the fluff.
Anyone know where I can find one?

If you want full functionality you will need a sense rom as 4g doesn't work for aosp yet. Plus aosp you can only send text with 30 or less characters, dumb I know. There are sense roms with sense removed so you will still have full functionality with aosp look.
By the way when u ask a question, you ask in q and a not in development lol.

You can disable HTC Sense.
Since you just now got your device, your camera won't work with any AOSP ROM either... has to be a Sense ROM. I suggest NeoEvo... very standard ROM with full functionality.
Frost rom has all sense removed with a aosp look, check that out everything works.
Looks like Frost Rom won't be getting any more support.
Can't find anything on NeoEvo.
Any other suggestions?

I like NeoEvo. It's my new favorite Sense ROM. Fast and elegant.
Also try Vaelpak. That was my favorite but the latest one has some issues but the dev is very responsive.
Last, try Burnt Droid by Netarchy. Again simple and elegant. He doesn't update often but really there's no need.

I really like the rom, but I'm stuck on trinity 2.0 because I LOVE how it looks. Everything about it makes it look like a professional rom.
The new rom is not my style but I REALLY want the true 2.2 aspect of it..

Sounds like you need someone to port that theme...maybe ptfmedic would do it....dunno if hes into porting themes
I wish someone would take the theme from this and just turn it into a theme. It's seriously the best LOOKING rom out there.
The current one is too orange and all other ones just aren't as sexy looking!

As for ROMs, I recommend the "Uber" series of ROMs, as well as CM7 or MIUI. Of course, just because I'm partial to the Uber ROMs doesn't mean there aren't other ROMs out there, look around until your friend finds one he likes
Is Uber around stock? (Fasc has Touchwiz and superclean; what is it for you, Sense?) I know of CM7, and he would reeeeeally hate MIUI.
Uber Gingersense 2.1/3.0 is around stock, but with improvements. some issues due to beta stages but coming along nicely. Sense is stock for us, yes

It all depends and what he is looking for there are froyo, Z Roms stable roms and Gingerbread/ Sense 3.0 roms that are still in beta and some apps like maps and youtube dont work...
I personally would recommend you this roms..

It has some mods, but I haven't seen any recent themes for Sense 1.0 that ships with the Inc.
Aside from CM7 (I'm jealous on how well yours works, btw), what's your most themed ROM? Just to give him colorful options.

As far as sense ROM's go, any of the new ROM's based on Sense 2.1 should be able to use skins. I've used these on some of the new gingersense roms with 2.1/3.0 hybrids. Works just fine.

TBH, I think MIUI with LauncherPro or GO Launcher EX (both free in the Market, LauncherPro Plus is I think $5) is the most skinnable. There are LOADS of MIUI themes, and it can use all the AOSP kernels and it's rock solid stable to boot

Look up the theme "honeycream" its in the market and it works with cm7's built in theme chooser, its a great looking theme and i highly suggest it.

As for a blue style honeycomb theme, this one is pretty good, not to brag of course XD

So, browsing a little back and forth, and tried some of the ROMs that are available here. not many, but a few..
what i can say so far, is that i really love ICS from lord clockan. but not having a working camcorder(camera before) is really a dealbraker..
android Revolution HD was nice and fast i guess, but sense? yeeeah, cool widgets and all, but thats about it really.
cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1 is what im currently using, and that is really nice, stable as a rock, smooth (enough) and never FC's.
BUT, i really dig that MIUI design :S so, can any of you recommend a MIUI ROM with working camera and camcorder?
Go to miui.us or miuiandroid also tons of them in the Rom theme manager or go to xda themes and look their misense 4.1 is a great theme. I hated cm7 due to it dialer and sms miui and sense are my personal choices. But once we get the correct drivers for cam sense 4 will be my favorite.

You really gotta dig your way back into previous pages in order to find MIUI roms. What i would say is that every MIUI rom is pretty much same with few tweaks here and there but let me tell you something which was told to me by a dev here which is that with MIUI roms your data is continuously sent to them through network i guess where they can pretty much see everything in a shape of a log.
