Im looking to replace beyond pod. None of the RSS readers indicate if they handle enclosures.
Would love to find a WP7 app that auto downloads feeds so they can be ready to play anytime.
I am not in love with the way WP7 has to use a wifi sync with Zune to get podcasts right now...
Any help?

Agreed, sync podcasts with Zune has absolutely no sense.
If i'm leaving for the week-end and want to listen to some new podcasts shall I carry my laptop computer with me?
There are some nice RSS readers on the marketplace, especially these ones: (please note that they are Google Readers)
- Feed Reader
- gReady
Thanks arturobandini I will try those out. Thanks for reporting in!
Merci pour votre temps.
J'espère que les émeutes ne sont pas la création d'une vie terrible dans la belle France. Bien sûr, cela a été créé en traducteur de Google ...
yomomedia allows you to stream podcasts.
You know, since 1789 French people like to demonstrate.... It's just the way it goes. So difficult to reform this country peacefully
But everything is all right now.

Stream as in internet connection required, correct? I am looking for one that will download them and let me play them back on a place, etc.
I will still check it out though as you took the time to suggest it! Thanks!

yeah, not sure if it will download to the phone or not, added a feed, clicked on it and it immediately started playing. I tend to stay behind on my podcasts so this hasn't been an issue for me yet.
Using the app named SmartRssGR you can actually download the podcasts and listen to them later.
But I sometimes have some bugs with it. maybe just me.

Hey guys,
I just had to mention this software that I just ran into yesterday. If you've already seen it, I apologize for bringing it up agian...
I installed it yesterday, and it does the coolest thing. I can broadcast LIVE video from my phone that can be seen from a web browser. Not only that, but it also brings up a google map tracking my position in real time.
Set the phone on your vehicle dash, start broadcasting, Drive around, and people can watch your trip in real time with a map showing your location...
I hope I have not double posted about this, but I really wanted to share.
Ok, I just found it was posted in the Development and Hacking forum, but I still think I'll bring it to the Trinity Forum since I've verified it works on the Trinity.
Website
http://www.ix-m.com/gps
Latest CAB is always available here
www.ix-m.com/downloads/livecam.cab
Install the 'Live Media GPS' software on your phone, and the 'Live Media for Windows' on your computer.
Be sure you have the GPS linked up, or it will not broadcast.
You also have the option of viewing your Desktop Computer Video from your Trinity.
I hope somebody enjoys this as much as I am!
Nice to see you here. Great software.
I'm just watching Live Stream - Motorbike - diterex. Fantastic.
Best regards !

Good to see you too.... We miss you over here in WWE Trinity World.
Another cool feature is that you can send instant Audio Clips to the person viewing the video, or Vice Versa. It only takes seconds to send and receive them.
This sounds awesome. I agree that it's always worth reposting in Trinity to show it works. I'll test it soon.
Best to install it on a lite ROM I imagine (not Manila based)?

Actually, I'm currently running the g77 Manilla rom, and it installed and works fine. So Far.
Getting Started Tips
If you are interested in trying this, here are a few tips:
1. You need to create two seperate accounts for the Mobile version and the Desktop Version. Then you can link the two accounts as Buddies and view the video back and forth. Using the Buddy option keeps others from seeing your video unless you want them to, in which case you can broadcast to the Public pages.
2. After installing to your Mobile, be sure to go into the 'Settings' and then 'Video Recorder' and turn off 'Direct screen mode' to show your video on the Trinity.
3. I've tried leaving the option 'Video with Audio' on and off. It works both ways, but is better video if audio is off.
4. If you'd like to start Broadcasting on your Wife's/Husbands/Kids Trinity, you can enable the 'SMS Activation' option. By sending a text to the phone with the security code, it will start transmitting automatically.
5. As mentioned in an earlier post, the GPS MUST be synced before the Broadcasting will work. It may take a few minutes in clear skies for it to link up, so be patient. (As with any GPS enabled program on the Trinity)
6. Keep in mind that this is probably a HUGE battery drainer. I have not tested how bad, but it IS using the GPS, Camera, Audio, Network, all at the same time. But, if plugged into a charger while driving, it's not a big deal.
7. If you are not connected using WI-FI, BE AWARE that this will connect your Data Connection and might be charging you $$$. I'm on an unlimited Data Plan, so it's not a problem here.
8. Don't Broadcast any "Adult" content to the Public site, or you will be banned. Whatever you do with your Wife/Girlfriend/Dog/Goat/Etc using the Direct Buddy option is up to you...
8. Don't forget to try the 'Send Voice Message' or on the Mobile "Live Talk" feature. It's pretty quick, and AWESOME audio quality.
9. Have Fun!
For now, that's all I can think of. As I use it more, I'll add things if needed. Feel free to do the same.
great!
it seems gpsgate can do these too, exclude video audio sharing
thx
Hello all,
In light of the recent congressional events regarding ("shhhh") downloaded music, I am now in the wanting to play it safe mode. At my age I have more too loose.
What I'm looking for is the best home to phone streaming app that does not also utilize web based streaming like Audiogalaxy and Subsonic. I am now using both of these but would like to see if there are any alternatives which...shall we say...'are more private'. Simply an app that does not require any website registration but only needs ones own IP to access music.
I would also welcome discussion on the legalities of steaming already downloaded music (home to phone).
Thanks for any thoughts on this topic.
Edit: Now trying Gmote. Can anyone recommend a better one?
Just use Grooveshark.
if you have a daap server at home, say itunes or WDLXTV firmware, there is a simple daap client in the market that works well

Thanks for the reply. After trying Gmote for a couple of days I've decided to ditch it. It tends to start/stop too much on a 3g network, and the UI is horrid. The daap server sounds interesting. If you could recommend one that will work on either XP or W7 I'll try that...assuming there is such an animal.
Is there any app to stream live radios station ?
I move from WM to Android, and I would like to know if there is any app to stream live radio station Wm normally use WMP, but android doesn't support Wmp
please if some one know something about it point me to the right direction.

Have you tried Homepipe?

Not yet, have looked that one over a bit. Gmote lags too much on 3g so I'll try Homepipe next. Oh yea, and my Bucs almost came back on your Ravens last Sunday. If only Freeman had started his "famous" quick offense earlier.
@dsuare021979 For music streaming try:
Pandora (unlimited access is 36/year but has the best quality sound IMO.
A Online Radio (the "A" is part of the app name)
iheartradio
Last.fm
Thank you for the help, but none of them work with the radio station I normally stream
MEGA 97.9 NY. I hope we get an app like wmp soon.

Checked into Homepipe a bit more closely and it's another type that requires a website registration, which is what I'm trying to avoid. Gmote is what I'm looking for, but it's too buggy for me. Guess I'll keep looking but use Audiogalaxy in the meantime. I like Subsonic but on the EVO it has a tendency to repeat the first song all the time. Anyway, thanks for the input.
Just a question to see if you know something that I don't... if you go through and Retag all of your mp3s there should be no real way to see where they came from... ripped from your own cds or otherwise.... at least that's my opinion. But maybe you know something that I don't?

My only experience with re-tagging is to get the files to look right in Audiogalaxy. I collect alot of "Greatest Hits" albums and most of the tracks each have their own album tag. I wish I knew the answer to your question for my own benefit. Anyone else?
I finally found and app that let me stream any radio stations around the world, ( RADIO TIME ) it work great
Anyone know?
Maybe, I think the music folders shows up once you use that mass storage hack but its been advise that you shouldn't do that.
But then again, there's nothing wrong with zune. Easy and automatic syncing of pic/music/videos/movies/podcast. I've been using it since 1.0 and it pretty good, I will never go back to drag&drop. Don't have to go diving to folders for a certain file to drop, just open the software and drap and drop it, or let it sync automatically.
I wonder if Drop Box would work for music. I don't see why not, just you would have to pay because they only give you 2GB for free.
And video files? Im thinking of getting the focus, coming from Android.
What's with all these weird questions?
Zune is the music and video player for personal collections.
It also handles podcasts.
Dropbox won't be playing music for you. Since when was that a dropbox feature?
Do some research please. Search the forums as well as they have a wealth of knowledge.
Asking questions like this means you were too lazy to bother with research as this has been well known for a very, very long time.

This is a key problem with WP7 so the question will be asked until WP7 is fixed.
The current answer is, this can be done via a hack but is not guaranteed to work, and the resulting music is restricted to limited protocols: cannot be accessed as files by WP7 software and afaik cannot be organized by folders.

,Read his question, put not play. Yes you can use dropbox to PUT songs on the phone not PLAY.
Hi,
I dont know if you guys know this site, but its similar to itunes. I use this site more than 5 times a day on my pc because i am a music producer/dj. You can pay there from your paypal account and your Visa. It would be great if there would be an beatport app for WP7. Of course you can access the mobile beatport site but it looks very cheap and user unfriendly. There is an iOS app and android app (i think) already. This app in Metro style would be delicious!
Also i heard there is an API available for developers from beatport.
Please answer if this is possible to make, cheers.
P.S.: heres the original site http://www.beatport.com/
Edit: heres the API Documentation: http://api.beatport.com/
Bump - definitely would like to see a beatport app
In other news, you knew they had a mobile site right? http://m.beatport.com/
as you can see i wrote already that the mobile site looks ugly
No one wants to make it? an unofficial app would be great too, i hope someone will try
Maybe in March I could try. University exams before.
thanks bro! wish you luck in your exams!!!
Please can someone make this app? it would be so much better for WP to have this app, not always lookin up to android and iphone Beatport themselves wont make the app i guess. Like others there are not opened for WP
Quite some work
I had a quick glance at the API documentation: Looks ok, but I don't think that an app to cover that is something for a rainy weekend. This would probably amount to a serious undertaking - we are speaking about some weeks of work, if you ask me, especially if starting from zero, i.e. without access to the source of either the iOS or the Android app.
To find a WP7 developer who does this just for the love of it and some people asking nicely will be difficult.
hmm yea, i thought it would be a good move for WP7 because the android app isnt so impressive and the ios one was removed and wont appear again probably it would be good for everyone, because electronic music is rising and there is not so much electronic stuff on zune :/
Ya hay una app en la pagina oficial, esta descargada, no se si alguien pueda hackearla o algo, a mi tambien me interesaria.
http://wmpoweruser.com/facebook-for-windows-phone-update-v2-5-now-in-marketplace/
Not tried it yet but thought it worth a mention.
yeah but still some bugs there, some massive bugs.
NO pictures in messages, if you get a picture via message you dont see it, its just a empty message,
The same is with links, if you send or get a link from a friend or somebody, you dont see it, just an empty message. now the messages look nice and metro but not helpfull with not displaying pictures in messages, and links.
App is slower loading and there's a bit of a lag pivoting left and right. It was never as slick as the people hub but its got worse with this new version.
My phone is an Omnia 7. I expect it is fine on 2nd generation handsets. Will be worse on the Tango 256/384MB devices though...not a great experience.

There is a slight bit of lag on the nokia 900 but nothing insanely annoying. I do like that I can finally like comments. That was my main gripe about the app.
I still can't tag people in my comments am I missing something? I typed with the the persons name and it didn't work. Do u type @thenname like u do on the computer? How do u know you're tagging someone? Does the auto suggest for ur friends pop up like on the PC?
I think the lag is just bad coding to be honest. Although I won't hold it against the dev team because they're obviously working hard to bring us all the features. Windows Phone 8, come on baby!
The update is nice, but it's still not even as functional as the FB mobile website, let alone the Facebook apps for iOS and Android (which both have proper timeline support and this new Facebook camera app).
Also the lag is a huge issue on my 1st gen HTC Mozart. Totally blows away the idea that WP7 is a fluid smooth experience; Welcome to the Android world of stutter and non-responsive scrolling. Personally I'm going to stick to using the People hub (for the basics) + touch.facebook.com (for more advanced operations). The only really useful thing about the app is being able to check in other friends.

It's written and published by Microsoft isn't it? If MS can't write a decent smooth app for their own OS, that's a pretty huge embarrassment. I think it's just trying to do too much at once; photos, news stream and friends all syncing at once when you start the app. They need to make it do less (maybe offload some to a daily background service) and test it more thoroughly on old WP7 hardware.
It takes 11 seconds to start up on my Omnia 7. I wouldn't mind if it was pre-loading my feed but it isn't - that takes a further 2 or 3 seconds once it is loaded.
I don't really care that much about loading time..its the lag pivoting in-app that bothers me.
I'm guessing it is stretching the memory capabilities by having news feed, notifications, photos and favourites/groups/more/apps screens pre-loaded as pivot pages. Obviously Android and iOS do not have this problem because that information is not being displayed on a pivot UI.
eu acho que ainda falta alguns ajustes para o aplicativo ser bom!
only performance improvement I found is when scrolling through your timeline fast it scrolls properly and isn't so jaggy like the versions before. rest is the same.
It loads a lot slower than the previous version for me on the Lumia 800.
But it is not made by Microsoft, the app is outsourced by Microsoft to another company which apparently can not make it any better
Video....
I haven't used this app since v1.0. Does the app finally allow you to upload video to FB? Or any app for that matter?
Still can't go to another person's profile, and view THEIR friends list.
Can't believe they can't get this feature implemented...
