I had about 70% charge on my device... so i thought of charging before Load sheading starts(which can be 16-18 hours a day) and after 1 n half hour... the led was green... so i knew it was full charged.. but when i celetask...i was shocked... my charge has reduced to 30%...
So i switched off n charged thinkin that some program might be eating the charge... i left for another 1 hour n agin the led was green i switched on n the charge was 83% only...
what can be the problem???? any1 have the idea...

what rom r u using?? How old is your battery?. Basically, these batteries they last like 1 year, after that...they do not hold charge as they used to. I'm using evo rom @ the momment and I had it overclocked at 216 (imagine how long my battery lasted...like 8 hours ). Since my battery is more than 1 year old, I underclocked my device @ 136 and now it last 48 hours. Phone is quite slow but I used it as my second device just to have my work's phone number .
Still rocks though .

yes, it's a 960mAh. Try to reduce your overclocking. I've seen a considerable change in battery performance with my phone since then.
Think it's under tools or accesories where you can set your clock mhz. Don't have my phone with me @ the momment

I did it in 2 of them (omap clock and clicked in action) and also in the OMAP set where I enable it at the mhz that I configured my device.
Regarding the battery, yes you can find 1500.

Any setting would be fine, but don't overclock over 240
I clocked it at 216 and it runs much faster it was set at 156. But will it drain my battery clocked at 216? Or does that have anything to do with battery life...
i think its actually faster then 3G.. how funny!

Yes, your battery will drain more than usual because your phone processor is running at a higher speed. I have mine clocked at 228 and the battery life is about 2 days before putting it on charging.
Well after I clocked it at 216 and then posted the next post my phone shut off and after turning back on i had maybe ten % battery left and that was after being on the charger all night.. But my battery life has always been ****ty.. its constantly on the charger at home and in the car..

This is a sign that your battery is dying or not taking in any charge. It will get worse until you get yourself a new battery.
Ok well im gonna try and stretch it until march. My t mobile contract will be up so right now im reading reviews and what not for different phones..
You can safely run your dash at 240 overclock speed, but if you have an old battery you'll see the difference in draining, so I suggest to get a new battery and you can go to 240mhz overclock and still get about 2 days of charge, I did when I had my dash running 3VO 6.5.
Hi,
I'd like to start a thread with varying inputs from everyone regarding which ROM drains the least amount of power. I think this will benefit newbies, like myself, on which ROM to use in the long run (or until the next update, LOL).
I know usage wise, everyone is different but let's say in a normal typical week day with work and all from 7am to 10pm, how well does your battery fare?
For myself, I'm using DeFrost 3.0b with Android Task Killer running in the background.
Usually from 7am on full charge, leaving house for work and using the voice calls from point to point, a lot of texting and light surfing on 3G, at 10pm I would have about 60% left. Quite good IMO.
I have tried OD but it drains my battery too much and CM6 Nightly is better but DeFrost saves the most battery.
i am using pinky 1.6 and the battery gives good backup.
but on my brother's desire, using nextsense 6.0 and my god we have given up on that rom altogether. full charge done at 1AM and with playing for 10 mins on talking tom app and just 1 phone call.... the charge has gone down to 64%. Its 1PM now. i dont know its the problem of the phone or the rom. but no more nextsense for me atleast.
maybe others dont have this prob... but i do.
defrost and OD i have also tried them both... both are good but i really miss the fm radio, htc camera, friendstream widget and htc gallery. the nexus gallery is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow.

i see.... hmmm... but for which rom?
look in yours sig ... leedroid
Mine you can see in my signature...
goes down: if i don´t touch it from 100% to 99% in 3h
if i use it for some sms and short calls with 3g and weather every 3h it goes down 1% per hour... so i don´t have any battery issues
if i use it extrem....all rom´s...also not htc sense rom´s goes down very quick...but this is normal....
and if i compare the battery drain to my old HTC Polaris with only 400 mhz (instead of 1000 mhz) the battery drain is very good
with kind regards...Alex

edit: so it´s not possible to compare i phone and desire....we need anyone who can test it with another phone with 1000 mhz

Yeh, its ok for me, get around 2 days on a full charge underclocked.
Pinky 1.8 + new radio lasts for some one and a half days
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
i use neophyte 1.8. with setcpu and juice defender i just did a very good test.
went away for the weekend, used the phone for internet about 3 hours each day, no calls and a few texts, weather, gmail and facebook updating every 2 hours: by the 3rd day i had 23% battery left. this was a nice surprise!
setcpu and juice defender combined saves me a lot of battery, if i dont touch the phone and turn on the screen it uses less than 0,5% per hour as setcpu puts the mhz down to 245 when the screen is off while juice defender turns off the (latest) radio.
cutting down battery useage while the screen is off is the key i think.
its the best mixture i have found yet.
I'm using Viper Rom with Stock kernel but i can't change my cpu settings with No-Frills, SetCpu or Voltage Control. I choose em with settings but no luck still Max and Min values are 1500 Mhz. Except Stock kernel also with Franco and Faux i couldnt change em too.
Let's talk about the real issue. My battery drain is really awful. I lost %4 of my battery in nearly 10 minutes Only in homescreen. (Everytime in a new rom i calibrate my battery)
4% in 8 mins is a bit high, but completely undiagnosable because of the short time span. The only thing I can get from it is the screen... Are you on full brightness?

I'll send new BetterBatteryStats screenshots tomorrow.
BetterBatteryStats Other section
since unplugged:
No Data Connection 1 h 17 m 39 s (4659 s) Ratio %99.4 (Whats that No data connection?)
No or Unknown Signal 1 h 17 m 39 s same ratio (and also what's that for)
Wifi On 1 h 11 m 6 s (4266 s) Ratio %91
Screen On 50 m 22 s (3022 s) Ratio %60.4
When i unplug it battery shows %87 but now %68 nearly in 1 hour.
Here are the new results.
Could be due to bad flash. Try a reflash.
I flashed too much. Before Viper i used Insertcoin Rom and battery was terrible on that Rom too
bad signal?

I use Miui File Explorer due to its FTP feature. I dont want plug my phone everytime when i send something on PC. Thats why i use FTP and its only took 1 min thats not a battery drainer.
My Phone's serial number starts with SH24 (Built in Shangai) I guess that's why its battery life sucks according to Taiwanese Hoxes.
From now Screen only active nearly 1 hour and battery is %45. I played games totaly 10 minutes last night. It drains %100 to %88 in 10 minutes
I looked my mom's Hox 2 minutes ago for 10 h nearly standby 24 minutes talking and 30 minutes screen usage time but battery drain is only %5. Her Hox is HT23(Taiwanese) mine is Orange branded SH24. When on standby my battery drain is %15 for 10 h...

Plz give me some suggestion. I changed my Rom to Renovate and battery drain worst than Venom on this Rom. Also My Hox gets %89 on HTC battery test (1 hour Max Brightness stress test)
I got this problem too, i am getting slowly annoyed by this phone. First i had to send it back because of screenflickering and got it back after 3 weeks, and now i have massive battery probs with this new phone. How long should the Samsung Galaxy wonder Battery last for with continuous usage for web browsing and twitter for example ?
Or how long should it last for complete stand by ?
I am asking because I bought a new Galaxy W and the battery last only for very few hours with the usage mentioned above , and I wanna know if this is normal or I have to replace it ?
Thanks in advance

Do the first time 8 hours charge, and only recharge it if only a few % left(best if charging it after it is out of battery and shut down by itself), you may use battery saver application( eg Juice Defender, Go Power Master) as well

Thanks for info MyDeSTiNaTe ,
I have bought it about 12 days ago , and didn't charge it for 8 hours as you said , Am I supposed to do that now , and may this affect the battery life positively ?
Also please read my reply to other member here in the forum may be you can help me in that
But I am still very disappointed from the battery life ,
what makes me so disappointed is that I compared my Galaxy W Battery with Galaxy fit Battery , in a life experiment making exactly the same thing on both phones ( open wifi and download from the market ) , My Galaxy W take about 3-4 minutes for the battery to decrease by 1% , while the Galaxy fit takes about 30 minutes to decrease this 1% .
The owner of the Galaxy fit told me that may be the reason is that I have 1400 processor while he has only 600 processor , and the faster the processor the less the life battery , I don't know whether what he says id right or wrong .
So I am still confused whether to take it to the warranty or it is normal ,
Can you or anyone tell me whether the experiment result is normal or I have to go to the warranty ?

Thank you MyDeSTiNaTe
It depend on rom that you use and how often you use your phone. I think cm9 by arco is the best performance & battery life compare with stock rom. I installed cm9+juice defender, my battery about 16 hours. I use it very often, autosync whatsapp, YM & reply emails. I use stock rom before, I only get less 10 hours.
Sorry my English is bad, I hope everyone knows what I mean.

Not necessary.
You'll need to do 2 or 3 complete battery cycle (that is : charge until full, then let it run out until the phone shuts down) before the battery indicator gets accurate.

Nope, Mutant Rom
For me the best Rom is F.A.W Release 2.
Awesome speed, awesome Battery life time, and I don't care about the design, which is Stock..
All in all, nice Rom, I'd definetly recommend it !
CM9 worked good too for me... but never as good as FAW Rls2 (talking about the Battery life time..!)
I'd also recommend you to Underclock your Phone when it's locked.
I have the following Set Up.
Screen on:
100-800MhZ
Screen Off:
100-200MhZ
Charging:
100-300MhZ [300 MhZ cause sometimes I use my phone a bit while it's charging. 100MhZ is definitly too low to write a Message via WhatsApp (well of course it's possibly, but seriously... who wants to wait minutes to answer on a message..?)]
That works out great.
I recommend this app/widget to set the Settings.
I think 1,4 GhZ is alot already... So I clocked it down.
And as I hardly play games, I don't need the speed...
Works great to Phone, Text messages (whatsapp etc.) Facebook, Browser etc.
Good Luck
Btw.

That means no Phone for me... I mean, even the Clock is a Widget..!
I have like 0-2 Apps running in the Background. But I try to remove them always... But sometimes I just forget about that, cause Im kinda distracted with other things or whatever.
Screen Off...
Sound like the Phone is only turned on, but nothing is used. Well than it can last that long.
But people say they're surfing on the internet, playing smal games, chatting and what ever else... And If they're battery lasts about 2 Days, and they stil have some Percents left thats awesome..!
But honestly, 22 hours is enough for me. I don't play games, only texting, googling things and FB etc. And Im at home everyday, so Im always able to charge my Phone at the evening
And here comes a Question..:
Is the SGW's Battery the same in every Country? I mean, I bought mine in Germany, as I live here. But is it possible that the Americans (for example) have more Amperes than the german version ? Maybe that can cause big battery life time differences..?

Well to be fair this phone and newer phones aren't meant to last a long long long time since they can do so many things.
Hello guys ... Hope you help me with my cellphone... I have an Lg g3 d858hk since a year more or less... But I think it's the only phone that the battery last only 2 hours... I was on lollipop and flashed the MM last week... My phone gets very hot when I'm charging and when I'm using normaly ... I don't play games not even see Videos ... I've tried everything possible but nothing seem to work. I've put the thicker mod in conservative and the battery it's draining the same. So put the governor in power save and the cpu only at 300 mhz and the same problem. So I've concluded that the problem is not the cpu clock speed. My battery is relatively new . just 2 months . when u bought the phone my battery last 10 hours... But now only 2 . help me guys please . I'm getting crazy . I don't know what else to do.
Same here, using LG D855 Marshmallow.
Also, it gets very hot.
