In my opinion I am using Damage Control 3.5 Final... but you have to fully rooted (have unlocked your NAND) for this ROM to install. So if you used toast's method to ROOT you should be fine. I have excellent battery life and havent had any problems witht this ROM. Wifi tether works (I used it yesterday to jailbreak an iPad at bestbuy).
I'm defiantly full nand unlocked.does that rom have sense installed? I use launcher pro. Also hows your ram on that one? On fresh typically have about 175-200 free.

Yes it does have Sense.. .and Internal Phone storeage is about 300MB before I installed all of my apps...
I use CyanogenMod, the nightly builds (it's gotten a lot faster than RC1 since a few days ago).
Personally there are some aspects of Sense I miss... Mostly the text select for copy/paste, since vanilla Android's implementation sucks, but overall I prefer CyanogenMod more, hands-down. Also, I trend to average around 180-200MB free RAM.
As far as I know, if you don't want any trace of Sense on your phone, CyanogenMod is your only real choice, since it is built from the ground up on Android's sourcecode.
But with any other ROM, Sense can be disabled.
The two I'd recommend would be CyanogenMod or Baked Snacks. I haven't tried Damaged Goods though... I'll have to try it out.
Oh, and just so you know, CyanogenMod currently doesn't have 4G, if that matters to you.

for DC 3.5 you can very easily Ban sense in DCONFIG if you dont want it. I ban all sprint apps, sense, and launcher in the config so that all i am left with is launcher pro.
This lets me have my 4g, hdmi, fm radio. Still lets me have 2.2 and gets rid of sense. plus DC is an amazing rom anyway.
Hi I'm new to the mytouch slide so I was wondering if there was a way that I could root it and overclock it I saw something about there being a special made kernel for overclocking it, would I need that, I want to keep the original sense ui but if I have to I'll just go to the froyo/sense rom.....i guess
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
I tried keeping the original slide rom rooted and overclocked but i dont think the kernal matched well since i had constant issues and needed to reflash the rom over and over. Its best just to go with a 2.2 rom and overclock. They are more stable. The latest cyanogenmod actually has the overclock kernal in it.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
So should I just drop sense ui all together and just go with cyanogenmod or go with froyo/sense?
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
Sense roms are sexy and all, but I've used 2 of them for the slide now, both have some pretty major issues. The froyo one was the most glitchy. Cr_mod is eclair, but you can apply the oc kernel and install setcpu. The rom still has an issue here or there but nothing like the issues with froyo sense roms. I'm using cm6.1 rc2 and I have to say its still the fastest rom that I've used for slide. The cm roms were the fastest on my old g1 as well. PLUS they include the overclock kernel. I definitely recommend cyanogenmod.

Idk man, it depends what you can deal with and what you cant. The rom 3rd Sense seems to be the best froyo sense at the moment since it has a2sd, wifi, and bluetooth working but from what i read, it has rotation problems and no keyboard lights. Its making progress though.

ok cyanogenmod is soundin pretty good right about now but all really want with sense is the benefits which are contacts(sim, tmobile, facebook), myfaves(can kinda do without), gbutton, and the widgets. are there ways to keep these?
Gbutton is now google search and there are sense-like widgets. Also, the facebook app does add friends to contacts.

ok so i went head and put cyanogenmod on it and its really a jaw dropper lol its really cool now i just gotta see if im up to date on my radio because ill get 2g in the weakest areas, 3g in some areas, and H which i heard stood for 4g in most but when i get this it cant connect most of the time, it flickers like its trying :/
Hello,
Is there anyone that can kindly recoomend and point me in the right direction to a pure gingerbread rom (not CM7)? Preferably based on the G2 update, that is up to date, pure and stable?
Thanks
here you go Virtuous G-Lite
There is an RC of the same rom available over at #virtuousrom irc
Id recommend xboarders rom. He also has a cyanogenmod mix as well

Believe it or not its faster, I tested it last week. RMK said he was going to release it. Don't know why he didn't though.
RC isn't available for download anymore.
The cyanogen/mix rom appears to just be a paint job. Not worth it IMHUMBLEO. Virtuous g-lite is really the only other thing. Sorry
Xboarder's Pure/stock rom is what I'm using now. It's fast and stable in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies, Been using CM7 nightlies, been great, but sometimes feels somewhat unfinished and often get force closes and crashes when using normal apps. Sense is great but in my opinion is a bit of a memory hog.
Just installed xboarder56 pure stock gingerbread rom:

Seems to be working great and very fast and stable.
Wish there were more roms based on the official T-mo G2 gingerbread rom.

I've been using CM7 since the first nightlies and its been months since I've seen a force close. I realize everyone has a different setup and therefore different issues though.
I've also checked out the xboarder56 ROM. Very good if you want super stock.

I have searched all over the internet to find a strictly sense 2.1 ROM for my beloved EVO. There are none. There is of course MikG 2.1+3.0 ROM, but I am looking for just sense 2.1. How hard is it really to port it over to the EVO? If it's easy, I can just figure out how myself I suppose. I don't want to use the 3D of Sense 3.0 and 3.5, I would simply like to see just one ROM out there for the EVO with Sense 2.1. Thanks to all who have positive input.
Check out warmZ twopointtwo. Make sure you not looking at the regular one

I would like it because the EVO, or at least my EVO was not meant to run sense 3.0 or up. It just becomes slow no matter what I do. Sense 2.1 is what I've had the best luck with. I would not put windows 2000 on my i3 Lenovo ThinkCenter, but I would not try to put Windows 7 on my Toshiba Satellite dinosaur laptop. The Evo is a very capable device, but for my needs in a phone, sense 3.5 doesn't cut it.

I thought that those were, particularly the Sprint Lovers and the ones that say that they were based on stock, as the EVO 4G is not running Sense 3.0 on stock. I didn't see any hybrids when I searched. I did a search for stock roms only. They are running Gingerbread, but so was my EVO before I rooted it. This one is called "Swagged Out Stock". Again, it's Gingerbread, but I believe that it still uses Sense 2.1
The best 2.1 ROM is Koni Elite III

isn't KONI ELITES ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941055) a 2.1?
I think he is looking for a Gingerbread Sense 2.1 port. Koni, while a great ROM, is not that.
OP, I remember a stock port of the EVO Shift by Leoisright. It hasn't been updated, but is straight 2.1.
I don't know why MikG won't work on your phone as I have mine smooth, but look up Leo's port
Edit: Just noticed that the final version was a merge with some Sense 3.0 features. Salvage-Sense is straight Sense 2.1, so hopefully it will work for you.

I don't have the link since I'm on my phone, but the only Rom I remember that was Android v2.3 with Sense v2.1 (without any Sense 3.0 stuff) was made by the Salvagemod guys. Search for that one.
Edit:
Here's the one I meant, "salvage sense":
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226578
It's not currently supported anymore because both those guys moved onto other phones, bit its the only pure sense2.1 Rom I remember.

I have MikG right now and it does run very smoothly, I am mostly just wondering why there is no regular sense 2.1 ROM. Why all the modifications? I like MikG I am running 2.53 right now because I like having recent apps in the pulldown bar and 3.0 doesn't have it.

MikG 3 does have recent apps -- you just have to long-press on the "Sprint" to make it appear (long-press again to hide). Pretty cool feature.

I don't think that Rom does... I'd say just flash MikG v3 -- it's super fast and stable, and in the themes and mods section over at themikmik.com there is a landscape rosie. I think MikG is faster than the pure sense2.1 roms, really, and it is still consistently supported.
The only sense Rom I find faster is Tommy's Evo Classic (and even though it's only sense1.0, he's added some awesome stuff to it).

I like the lockscreen of 1.0/2.1. Is there a way to flash it or port it onto MikG 3.0?
Hello, I have a friend who wants me to root their evo & maybe flash a rom, well I don't want to flash MIUI because it requires a little know-how what you can/cant do sense vs asop plus every once and a while you run into a bug or FC, so I'm thinking of sticking with sense.
any suggestions for good looking and a bug-free rom?
Mik 3.0 is a solid Sense rom, everything including 4G works.
