Having a weird issue with my new Telus LG Optimus 7. I'm unable to get a lock in Bing Maps or get directions. ScanSearch works perfectly fine, it detects everything near by - but MAPS will not lock....
Anyone experience this?
NM - figured it out. You need to enable Wireless in order for Maps to locate you or provide Directions.

i recently went to the US, i previously made the maps avairable offline and turned off data while roaming.
i could see and explore the offline maps perfectly but couldn't get my location working; it only worked while on wifi i tought that if I made the maps offline they would work but didn't. so, Is there a solution to this? or could someone help me get an explanation on why didn't it work

Hello! Yesterday LG G3 Stylus got an upgrade to Android 5.0.2. After that GPS stopped working, it doesn't see any satellites, and won't locate the device. Does anybody know how to fix it?
i have similar issue. Google Maps works but sygic can not get GPS position. I reinstalled sygic but it didn't help.
I installed "GPS Status Test & Fix - No Ads". Then I did a "Reset GPS" and "Get Xtra data". This have solved my issue.

Two questions:
1. On google maps how do you know if it has a GPS fix?
2. I've downloaded a local area on google maps for offline viewing, but without data when i tried to see if the map will follow me, the gps was just not following me. Randomly it will hop places but wasnt following me. For Google Maps GPS to work, do I need data itself? I thought the GPS is provided by the GPS and maps was just data which i downloaded for offline viewing.

I never used Google Maps (but Navigator). If application hops, it seems, that location is calculated via WiFi and GPS does not run properly.
To understand, whether GPS is running properly, install "GPS NMEA" from playstore (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ppillai.gpsnmea). In "NMEA Raw Data" you will get information about the data provided by GPS-controller. How to read NMEA-string, ask Wikipedia.
I recently got the zenfone 2 (ZE500CL), and I do not see the download offline voice recognition in the google search settings like I saw on my old phone (galaxy nexus). I'm assuming it is not officially supported.
However, according to this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47997173#post47997173 , there is a workaround by downloading the files manually and placing them in the right location.
But, this did not work for me. Did it work for anyone? Also, I'm trying to get the en-GB version to work. Would be awesome if anyone could help me get this to work. I have a whole personal assistant set up using this you see (using Tasker).

Hi everyone,
I have a bothersome problem with my Galaxy s9, exactly:
1. GPS turns on but the range of my position is very inaccurately
2. Doesn't work tracking system in phone - Maps GPS not working
- in Maps show only the position in which I started the program but does not track despite the movement
- using LTE or WI-FI does not help
3. The phone was reset to factory settings many times and any non-invasive other methods available from Google were also I used
- GPS Test APK does not detect satellites correctly.
Apparently some module / chip has broken. Could someone please write me what I need to replace, please?
Is one element or the entire motherboard?
