Thanks. I will edit the post with any information I receive. I would like to avoid workarounds and hacks. I am not sure how to handle 3rd party apps either.

I'd probably remove system-wide file manager. I don't think that I've ever seen Microsoft even suggest that its coming.

agreed. They may implement a limited file manager, but I seriously doubt we will ever get full File System access.
add VPN please
Can we get these organized by time of release? That way the ones on top are the ones that will definitely be released, and as you go we get into maybe territory.

only copy/past is sure and that one is at the top
Multitasking is already in there, even for 3rd party. They just need a good way to handle Fast app switching and they're good to go.
The mass storage mode workaround doesn't offer anything new.
It is pointless suggesting it is no longer an issue
- It can only be used to copy files to the music/pictures or videos folder
- Zune could do this anyway
- Zune has to be installed for this work around
- It can't be used on any computer (so it is useless for transfering files between computers) since Zune needs to be installed and the registry needs to be tweaked
- You can't open the files from your phone unless they are pictures/videos/music
- Applications on your phone cannot access these files
Agreed.
USB Mass Storage shall be added back.
Outlook Task Sync
Any news if they ever plan to add the task sync with Exchange? I really don't get it why they missed such a basic and widely used feature like syncing tasks. I am using the desktop OneNote feature to set tasks with dates in Outlook alot and this becomes totally useless if I can't get them synced with my phone.
... and subscribed calendars (even just a 1 way sync to subscribed calendars) is absolutely necessary for any business use. Every other platform can do it, why MS can't is beyond me. Very frustrating. Our team, with 12 all new WP7 phones as of yesterday, has 29 days left to go back to Android if some solution doesn't come up by then for this most basic business requirement.
Outlook Sync
-Outlook Sync from a PC
-Vibrate more than twice on incoming phone call when phone is on vibrate
-Full silent mode with no ring, no vibrate without having to turn the master volume to 0
-Add vibration to alarms and allow alarms to keep ringing until I push snooze or dismiss
-IE Address Bar in landscape mode
-A favorite contacts tile
-Ability to change font size
-Ability to organize app list with folders or something..can get very long. or add a alphabet tile like in the contacts
-Ability to save camera settings
-Ability to combine mailboxes
-Alternating MMS/SMS bubble colors (to better distinguish conversation participants)
-Vibration when striking keys on virtual keyboard, not just sound
-Spelling suggestions in all text input fields throughout OS
-when a call comes in, not having to slide up AND press accept call
-When in a phone call, MUTE, SPEAKERPHONE and the KEYPAD should be present
-Individual volume control, ringer sounds notifications etc
-Twitter and Myspace integration
-Myphone integration into Live
-Fix connector so it syncs everything in contacts from outlook (like pictures in contacts)
-Adjust timeout for lock screen or ability to turn off all together. Certain programs shouldnt timeout and show lock screen, like when using navigation
I would suggest removing confidential information from the page.
I know this one is minor, but when the home screen is at it's scroll limit at the top, bring up the pixels at least so it doesn't cut off the title text from the fourth row tiles at the bottom of the screen. It's really minor, but would go a long way for a quality UI.
I hope VPN get faster, this is my high priority need

Top 10 according to whom exactly?
Half the items on that list are either just around the corner or confirmed for release later this year, the other half seems like they're just listed without any thought going into why they're not already there or how they should be implemented.
1.Copy and paste. - Coming in two weeks
2.Flash and HTML5 - coming later this year
3.SkyDrive sync with Office Hub - coming later this year
4.Add a screen capture feature - don't need this, myself
5.A proper Youtube app, not the poor web version we have now - HTC have produced one, it's very good
6.Allow search of Marketplace by individual categories (apps, games, etc.) as opposed to combining them. - coming in two weeks
7.Separate volume levels for headphones plugged in and not plugged in - don't need this, always use bluetooth
8.The camera app should save any settings changes you make - it just resets them now - Don't want this
9.Add Compass API access, navigation apps are useless without it - coming later this year
10.Spotify App - Don't want this, never stream to my phone, limited data plan
So I would remove all of those and add;
Turn by Turn navigation
Tethering
this thread is very much liked the pinned one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844117
please just follow this thread, rather than having this new one going.

1. Yep, coming.
2. Long time to wait. Flash is not good on mobiles. If flash comes baked into IE (can't uninstall), I'm going to iOS. That will be a showstopper.
3. They need to add the capability for Zune to transfer documents from a folder on yoru computer (subfolder of you Documents Library folder) to the phone. Without this, and bein tethered to the cloud... it's still a big weakness for WP7. SkyDrive integration is not a big thing, and arguably should have been there at release. There's no reason for this not being there already, IMO. It makes the office hub a bit useless if you aren't a SharePoint user.
4. I don't need this, but others may need it. People who do training or write applications and want to take screen shots on a device instead of in an emulator may want it.
5. HTC YouTube App is actually pretty terrible. Search only works 1% of the time, and without search it's borderline useless because you cannot log into you YouTube account with it and view you subscribed channels/favorites/your own channel. It's worse than the HD2 YouTube App. Google needs to develop these apps for WP7, but I doubt they will... The Android YouTube App is about 50x better than this piece of crap.
6. Yep, coming, and badly needed.
7. "I don't use it, therefore it's useless." God... Selfish attitudes are quite the FAD here...
8. "I don't want it, so therefor it's useless." How about this "if you don't want it, STFU and simply don't change the settings." Who seriously records VGA video these days...
9. It was a fail to not have this available at release.
10. "I'm too cheap to buy a high cap/unlimited data plan, so I don't care about this." not gonna comment.
Bing needs Navigation ASAP, and Tethering is needed, yes.
A first-party Windows Live Client is needed - integrated into people's hub with presence info and push notifications (iOS has a Microsoft-developed Messenger, WP7 doesn't... laughable).
Ability to transfer Documents through Zune to the phone. This is badly needed. SkyDrive isn't enough.
I had some ideas for wp7 features ...i know I am not the only one with ideas so I was thinking we could compile a list:
Ability to set -
Alarm snooze duration
Controls like WiFi off data off etc from home screen
Forward button in browser? (options / settings menu in browser also would be nice)
Multitasking and app management tools ?
Customization-
Alternate UI
More status bar actions/ usability
Of course- ringtones, backgrounds...lockstyles?
More functionality like a way to pull up more in depth menus (long press something etc ...?)
More color options
Animation sets ?
Tile transparency?
Different keyboards (or fix the current one up a bit)
added from N8ter:
Bing Voice Navigation
Video MMS
Ability to Send Video in Emails
Ability to Sync Documents from Zune Desktop Software (from %USERDIR%\Documents\Mobile Documents)

+ DECENT BING MAP for EUROPE
+ More generally, more freedom, more openness and more flexibility
Sorry if its unorganized ...its just a start...started typing all this on my dvp
So... turn it into windows mobile?
I'm sure there are several Android devices to choose from at your provider.
Alternate UI? why? if you dont like the UI then dont buy the phone.

Alarm Snooze Duration = Good Suggestion
Stuff on Home Screen You Mentioned: Pin Settings. Not like there is much in there, anyways. They need to add a LOT more settings. Sorry, but what's there is woefully inadequate. Even a casual consumer can get frustrated by the lack of common-sense exposed in the OS.

1. NO.
2. Desperately needed. Double tap for Notification cache, or maybe a Notifications Live Tile that you can click to get to the Notification Cache is needed.
3. Ringtones coming. Backgrounds are useless because on the homescreen you wouldn't see them, and in the app list they can potentially make the text unintelligible. There's no reason to want backgrounds, IMO. They're a waste due to the way the UI is designed. Lockstyles, like what? Pattern Lock? I believe Password and PIN code are there already, no?
4. Better menus are desperately needed. More functionality needs to be exposed, and it needs to be exposed cleanly. Android apps that have common functionality in the main menu with a "More" Option are a good example on how to implement decent menus (Google's Apps on Android do this).
5. Don't see a need, but I guess everyone has a favorite colors they want their tiles to be.
6. Don't understand what you mean by this, Lol. The OS already animates a bit too much IMO and it would be nice to have an option to turn the animations off in the system...
Different keyboards

No. There are technically reasons why I say no, but I really don't wanna get into it. The default keyboard is really good and they should spend time trying to improve it in the ways that it can be improved instead of worrying about some third party keyboards (plus, we don't want 1000 of those cluttering the marketplace like Android - that goes for Alternative UIs as well).
To your list I'll add:
Bing Voice Navigation
Video MMS
Ability to Send Video in Emails
Ability to Sync Documents from Zune Desktop Software (from %USERDIR%\Documents\Mobile Documents)
IE to Phone
IE Bookmarks Synching (Mobile Subcategory in Favorites, similar to WM6.5)

I'll type real simple for you in the future.

I'm not thinking closed-minded. I'm thinking that right now, my wp7 works flawlessly (mostly). It's smooth as silk (and I maintain that a smooth UI is far and away the NUMBER ONE most important thing to have). What I'm thinking is adding all these options makes it a bloatfest like windows mobile was, and what Android is.

I think you're missing the point. As Apple has done with iOS, Microsoft wants every Windows Phone to be instantly recognizable by its consistent Metro UI. I can see how some options to adjust the UI could be implemented, but the ability to replace the core appearance and behavior with an alternate will not happen.
That is what I think people are trying to say. Basically, if you are looking for an environment with a user-replaceable home screen/launcher, then WP7 is the wrong place to be looking.

My WP7 does work pretty smooth about it and that is one thing I like about it...so I see what you mean about bogging it down -but not ALL of those will bog it down, some are actualy good features/functions with nothing to do with looks...so there may have to be a middle ground, if that is the case...?
I believe if they are added in an efficient way then it should be fine...possibly by selecting a choice few... or on/off switches could be used (i.e. if you do not use all of the customizeable features which may slow down your phone - turn that whole section off etc...)
All in all...I believe there are definate changes which should be made to WP7 and there are some nice changes which could be made...
this is just meant to be about compiling a list of both...but your arguments for one or the other are welcome as well...

I get what you mean. That is a point (about the Metro UI being a core recognizable element)...but just denying the ability that users demand will amount to those users either constructing their own means or moving on....I do not intend to be part of the latter ...
so while MS may not be the ones to add the feature... the idea is up there for the possibility for someone to take on a project of such....
either way I think it fits this list well because it is an idea for a feature (whether you may think it is good/bad possible/ or not is an opinion...so don't mind if I still leave it up there anyways k? haha)
@'n8' ..... backgrounds while in your opinion may be useless...I believe it would be a nice addition instead of having a black or white background all the time -pleasing to the eye I guess you could say...?
any ways - a background is meant to be just that, an image in the background (i.e. behind ...behind things like documents and widgets...) so I think it would be a nice idea -then maybe they could add an option to change tile transparency etc....

Thanks for agreeing with me.
You're not smoking crack. You're smoking something a magnitude stronger...
I didn't say you said that, I said you spoke about Android, which you did.
By telling him to get Android instead of making WP7 WM, you literally inferred that doing so would also make it [like] Android. Otherwise the Android suggestion would make little, if any, sense. It's like saying "So, turn it into Windows Mobile? Just get an iPhone." <- Does that make any sense whatsoever? Probably not
Perhaps my above-elementary reading comprehension skills have pummeled your below-elementary writing/communications skills...
It was still a pretty idiotic thing to say, BTW.

8. Volume: Remove camera-shutter sound - Dunno why you'd wanna do that, but whatever
9. USB mass storage support (even limited) - It's 2011...
10. Ability to delete multiple texts just as multiple emails (with the checkbox)
11. Ability to delete multiple pictures
12. Smart dial to make dialing faster
13. Option to set how wi-fi operates while in sleep/standby - it operates just like most othe smartphones already
14. Emails: Peak notification for emails (option to disable push notification at night) - shouldn't your phone be plugged in anyways? Or are you concerned with data consumption?
15. Screen capture - Lol...
16. Support for front-facing cameras and video chat
17. Turn by turn text-to-speech navigation with offline support - Offline Support ur asking for a lot here... Lots of phones simply don't have the room for this.
18. Sharing options for video (MMS, Facebook, Twitter, Skydrive, etc) - Agree
19. Add image and video results to Bing
20. Native DLNA and Bluetooth 3.0 - DLNA Yes, BT 3.0 you probably need an updated hardware piece in the phone for...
21. File explorer - Not gonna happen.
22. Emails: Solve the issue with embedded pictures that fail to download - Never had this issue. Not saying anyone else hasn't...
23. Emails: Ability to edit the content of an email before you forward it
24. Zune: more Codecs
25. Zune: Improved search function in Zune: the Zune search function will only look for music into the Marketplace and not even browse into your own music collection if you search for a specific song
26. Zune: Scrubbing controls in the Zune player
27. Zune: Ability to create and save playlists directly on the device - MANGO
28. Zune: Ability to download podcasts over the air - MANGO
29. Zune: Ability to add or update podcasts directly from the phone - MANGO
30. Zune: Scrobbling on Last.fm for ALL countries - This is so low priority I'm surprised you mentioned it... Should have just put IE9 in there since you seem out of the loop in what's coming with Mango...
31. Multitasking, multitasking, multitasking !!! - It will never multi task 3rd party apps, it will simply do fast app switching similar to iOS.
32. WiFi toggle button directly accessible from the Home Menu - Agree, needed - GPS control as well. Most people actually have their GPS running all the time because of how location settings are hidden, which leads to more battery drain.
33. A real YouTube application - They say they have one, we'll see.
34. native flashlight app (using LED flash) on ALL wp7 devices. - Lol... Just use a free one from the market this is not an issue.

Good luck on the openness and freedom. Some of your people really seem to reside in lala land asking for the same WinMo-type treatment that Microsoft has already seen fail colossally. That will never happen with Windows Phone-series OSes.

So, basically, you spoke about Android in your post?

I never said, inferred, or inclinated that we should make wp7 into Android. Your immature response didn't make any sense. I didn't say we/him/anyone should "make" it Android. Please point out to me where I did say that.
I'm sorry if my adult-thinking-skills have confused your smoking-weed-in-mom's-basement-all-day skills.

They haven't released any info on that yet. Maybe on the 24th they will say something.
It's lists like these that remind me how awesome this release is going to be. Every little feature is very welcome. Can't wait!

Finally starting to look like a smartphone. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
this is a great great post, can we make it a sticky so dotcompt can update as new info comes along?
All these 'feature' enhancements are useless if you cant keep your phone switched on for more than 8 hours.. I leave my home in morning at 10 AM fully charged and by time its 4PM my battery looses all its candles and by the time I get back home at like 6PM it starts giving me 'Critical battery level' warning.. and all this when I dont even use WIFI or listen to music.. just use it to store appointments check email and market rates and read news and check weather updates.. over 3G.. all day long I am always praying god, plz dont switch off my phone.. coz once it switches off its a pain in ass to charge it back again to the retstart level.. even once it reaches restart level I cant use my phone for next 30 mins and just let it sit and charge.. if I try to even send a text it immidiately switches off and another long wait follows..
With all these new feature and flipping of live tiles and multi-tasking which will be using some sort of cache to store your recently used applications, push notifications for third party apps, I am worried it might drain down my battery more..
These feature are great and wonderful.. their have been no other phone which has been as smart as this one in human history, but the 'Battery Enhancement' feature is most critical for me.
Or atleast in future release some new WP7 devices with greater battery capacity.. I would be more than willing to sell my Omnia for any new WP7 that comes out with a greater 'lithium?' capacity..
And BTW when was the last time we saw a new WP7 device coming to the market from manufacturers?? 6-8 months back.. that ASUS phone have been floating around since forever. I dont know when the heck will they release that phone in market.
Smartphones and chargers go together these days. You'll rarely find anybody, including many businessmen, who don't have a charger available everywhere they go. Especially considering the size of a lot of these WP7 screens, the battery is exceptional. I use the phone non-stop. I'm a Twitter addict, I use well over 13,000 texts a month, I make calls, etc and my battery lasts me the entire day. On days I use Netflix or constantly stream music I need to charge it on the go obviously, but other than that, it's fine. And I have the biggest screen of them all.
Also, about the camera settings... I really hope "saving" them is optional, because I actually agree with Microsoft and this whole reverting back to default stance. I don't want to open up the camera and have to disable a filter that I set the previous use... I really don't.

If battery life is that big of an issue for you, buy a charger for work as well as a spare battery for travel.
I have two batteries for my Focus, so if I'm traveling on a long trip and blow out one battery I can just pop another in. Also I have the option to charge it at work when needed

I use European phone in US, even though Expansys did sent me a plug to convert the charger but my wall charger dosent charge my phone at all.. thats why they gave me a free car charger as a note of 'apologises'... i dont drive so I dont know if that car charger works or not..
As for the USB cable of my Omnia I can see how small it is built so that i can carry it with me all the time.. but the thing is USB cable too dosent really charges your phone and just perhaps keep it away from discharging more power... the only time USB cable charges your phone is when you have zune running and cable hooked in.. someone can test this.. because sometimes at night when I plugged in my USB and hibernated my laptop in morning I wake up to see the same or less battery level, but not fully charged or more than when I left it in plugged.. when I leave my laptop running with zune running it fully charges in 8 hour or so..
I am not sure if its like that for others, but my battery level dosent rise if I plug in the USB to a computer without zune or to a comp with zune but in hibernate mode..

I've heard that from a few people, I personally I have never charged any phone through a USB port... Just don't like to, so I can't really give you my input. But, if your phone is dying that fast with as minimal usage as you say, maybe something else is up, because a lot of users have actually praised the battery life. I'm also fortunate that I have chargers everywhere I go, your situation is a bit more complicated though.
Can this discussion be taken to a more appropriate thread? It's an important topic, but it doesn't really have anything to do with the discussion of upcoming Mango features.

I think your phone is borked. My Focus had great battery life, and my HTC Arrive will go two days with emails checking every 15, both data/wifi, tons of internet, some music, and gaming, etc.

The problem is data connection. If i disable it, i can use my phone for 3-4 days without recharging.
And you can recharge phone trough USB (no Zune), but it takes long time.
WM6-6.5 disconnect data connection if not in use, don`t know why can`t they make it like thad.
15 posts in and we're at battery life already? Battery life is fine. Omnia hits battery far harder than any of the HTCs I've used but I can use my pro 7 at work all day taking calls, go out running for 1.5hrs that night with endomondo running and listening to music and it will still last me through the morning. My HD2 would have kerploded.
as for the little title at the top of this page - I cannot wait. APIs are gonna be huge and I can't wait to see the different apps created as a result. IE will be a massive boost too with HTML5 support.

Do you like your 7 pro? I have an Evo, but that is the only sprint WP7 available (as you know) right now.. My upgrade is coming up in August, and idk if I should hold out for a different WP7 (mango ready).
Sorry op, I know I am off topic, but I want some good information on the phone.
Wont happen again.

I had an Evo...still kinda have it in my possession (gave it to my mom) and now i have the Arrive. Its pretty insane. Battery life is much better...and the feel. WP7 just has that feel too it...the screen seems silky smooth...so responsive. The keyboard is pretty insane too, nice thing to use in the sunlight. Smaller screen but going from the Evo to the Arrive...you'll type so fast on the Arrive it'd be ridiculous.
But by the time its August hopefully there will be newer phones...whether or not those phones will have better specs on Sprint...i'm not sure. I'm still kinda new to this whole WP7 thing. Thats why I love this thread...everyone said Mango would be huge but I just had no idea...
I see in one video, that in mango you can search one app of your app list with a "search button".
They includen a organizacion based in alfabethical name with leters (like contacts hub).
This is a BAD method (for me) because with a large list of aplication you dont remember the name of aplication. In other cases the name is not intuitive (example: flory for gtalk cliente).
The posibility of create forlders (or cathegories) will be better than this "order" method.
I cand belive that microsoft don´t think on it!
As probably this Mango will not introduce any kind of file explorer
And probably no Bluetooth transfer of files,
What do we know about:
* Multiple docs send in one email (instead of idiotic one doc per email)
* Docs transfer by Zune
* Outlook desktop sync?
Hello,
We've seen quite some bugs in bada 1.0 und 1.2. I was interested if Samsung took care of them in bada 2.0 since some of the bugs have a long history. Here's a list of collected bugs and also the current status in bada 2.0 beta up to KH1. I started the list in badaforums net, took it to badanation com and now I want to finish it here.
Some mentioned user names are from these other forums. I try to add a link to badaforums (also English) for you to read details in posts.
If you feel like a bad OLD bug is missing here, let's talk about that. I considered a bug when:
Really buggy, most other (old and new) phones do better:
GPS Slow SatFix due to aGPS and Almanach issue (especially after some hours/days or position change)
--> not fixed, due to user FreundBlase (ex Aliminium) still the same issue in KH1
--> Bada Support team reported "it's being worked at"
Dolfin Internet Browser wastes display space, especially in landscape orientation
--> fixed, URL bar on top scrolls away when page down scroll, so it's not in the way anymore. Navigation bar on bottom stays. In landscape mode it's slimmer, so wasting less space. Also text reflow so less zooming necessary. I consider it fixed.
Music Player ignores album grouped music when sorting by interprets, genre, ... without special tagging
--> changed/fixed, 1. seems to be able now to at least play per folder (due to handy-faq forum). 2. Due to user Foxs, Player now uses Album as headline and groups its titles under the Album. When selecting first title, Album plays in correct order. No tagging necessary. (KG6 and later)
--> Bada support team forwarded this issue to developer team and hopes for solution in bada 2.0.
email no real IMAP support: no "add IMAP folders", no "move mail to folder", etc.
--> most fixed, many improvements in IMAP. See post of waveboy below and handy-faq de. And also this post (link not allowed) for details down the thread.
email delete bug Bada 1.2: deleted emails keep download again.
--> fixed, emails are not downloaded anymore. Need details if that works both on POP3, IMAP (and sync?)
alarm clock: just re-activating an existing alarm isnt enough to engage it
--> fixed, in 2.0 8500XPKG5 (due to handy-faq forum)
Max 1300 SMS issue: 1.x could not hold more than overall 1300 SMS messages (from all folders added)
--> fixed, limit gone or higher
Phone reboots when syncing calender with Hotmail via Exchange ActiveSync and Serial Schedule is involved. At least a series like "Mo-Fr, not Sa, Su".
[*]Birthdays dont go to Kalender when Contact synced in (also from Kies?)
--> changes reported, seems to be fixed.
Music Player: Trying to exit, the Music Player still remains unclosed and must be manually shut down in Task Manager.
--> not fixed, still not closed after selecting "Back" to exit. (KH1)
Vcard (virtual business card) can not be send as sms, only possible as mms and email
--> not fixed, reported by waveboy.
Bluetooth battery impact: even after switching off Bluetooth (i.e. after using car handsfree) battery drains faster than normal. Rebooting Bada necessary to normalize battery consumption.
Music Player no equalizer with frequency bands
--> not fixed, still no classic equalizer in KH1.
--> Bug opened for Bada Team
No shortcuts to functions (kind of favorites across all bada functions/entries/numbers ...)
--> new: shortcuts to "anything". Can a second person confirm and be more detailled, pls?
no speed dial (like shortcut from home screen to dial top numbers)
--> fixed, keypad long press a number enables assigning/dialing a number
transmit/delivery report from message not integrated into original message (at least configurable)
--> not fixed, still comes back only as separate message. (KH1)
--> Bug opened for Bada Team
memo's cant be sent to other devices (PC, other phone brand) as text or in popular format
--> not fixed, still only .vnt Format can be sent (via BT/MMS/email).
no fast access to sound profiles (switch between meeting/outdoor/normal mode)
--> not fixed, sound profiles do not appear in QuickAccess Bar on Top, long way through menu>settins>sound profiles necessary. (KH1)
--> Bug opened for Bada Team
Number of bada-Apps is limited by number of 10 homescreens. All other Platforms don't impose limit
--> possibly not fixed, number of homescreens larger or extensable by folders, still a limit is reported (unconfirmed)
And a list of somehow less drastic issues:
no different font sizes in GUI (menus, lists)
--> new: at least in calendar, contacts, email, logs, memo's and messages font size can be changed
no addon fonts
No backup/restore or complete import/export available between Phone and PC
-->fixed Bada 2.0 now supports most things to be backed up/restored (verified by 1 user)
Java Programs: Security Notifications like "you now connect online" or "Allow App to access Phone storage", ... - selection cannot be persistent (permanently saved). We are missing a "Don't ask again" tick.
--> not fixed, selection still must be done every time, or delete settings.bin with sTunes.
Media (now Gallery?) function shows unwanted files, because it from all folders (ringtones, app icons, app maps), no way to exclude files oder certain folders from gallery
size of GUI elements (buttons, ...) cannot be resized to give more room for content
resorting in list of JAVA Apps not possible (could be worked around by homescreen shortcuts)
--> not fixed, Resorting still impossible, shortcut in Homescreen to JAVA Apps NOT possible.
Java Apps not user configurable to run in background, to rotate into landscape without sTunes. Missing setting likewise to bada 1.2 "Virtual Keyboard" or "Screen Resize"
--> changed, to run in background: pressing menu button in Bada 2.0 leaves Java App running in the background. rotate to landscape: status unknown.
Java Apps: Keyboard Click active even if clicksound is silenced in main Bada
-->fixed, no click sound anymore.
Java Apps (at least Opera): If network changes from WLAN to/from Mobile Internet (GSM/UMTS), App cannot access Internet until exit and starting again.
carrier-info widget only with fixed 4 lines, should be 2 lines or configurable or scrollable
Any new reports about status in 2.0 from testers???
Thanks for any contribution
Ray
So those were brought to Samsungs attention once, and 3 or 4 of them I reported as formal bugs at developer.bada.com.
Before presenting that again to Samsung, we should first add more findings - or even more bugs not yet listed here. Please note it's NOT the thread for new Bada 2.0 Bugs (Bugs in new functions), there's already another Thread going on here!!! It just for the most annoying old bugs, since I feel it's REALLY REALLY time to have them fixed now. And Release of 2.0 is not far away so let's hit the road collecting and then reporting them
Feel free to ask me if one or the other list item is not clear to you. I also hope some listed as "fixed" might be interesting for you.
Ray
Ok, seems there's no more wide-known bugs of bada 1.x that we forgotten. If you remember any now, just post it.
Some of the listed bugs are not really confirmed as fixed/not fixed. Look, it's mainly these:
email no real IMAP support: no "add IMAP folders", no "move mail to folder", etc.
--> most fixed, many improvements in IMAP. See post of waveboy below and handy-faq de. And also this post (link not allowed) for details down the thread
... it was not clear if bada's IMAP support now fulfills ALL expectations. It was only one user reporting, a second confirmation of somebody with knowledge was nice
email delete bug Bada 1.2: deleted emails keep download again.
--> fixed, emails are not downloaded anymore. Need details if that works both on POP3, IMAP (and sync?)
Can anybody test if that bug is gone both in POP3 AND IMAP accounts? With synced/acticeSynced accounts? Pushed emails?
Phone reboots when syncing calender with Hotmail via Exchange ActiveSync and Serial Schedule is involved. At least a series like "Mo-Fr, not Sa, Su".
relatively new 1.x bug report, still there in 2.0? Can somebody test?
Birthdays dont go to Kalender when Contact synced in (also from Kies?)--> changes reported, seems to be fixed.
Not sure if it also works when contacts are synced via Kies, via facebook, ... Anybody willing to test?
Bluetooth battery impact: even after switching off Bluetooth (i.e. after using car handsfree) battery drains faster than normal. Rebooting Bada necessary to normalize battery consumption.
No report of bada 2.0 so far
No shortcuts to functions (kind of favorites across all bada functions/entries/numbers ...)
--> new: shortcuts to "anything". Can a second person confirm and be more detailled, pls?
Shortcuts to any "menu" level icon is confirmed. How about shortcuts to an individual contact, submenu, file like mp3, java program, memo, ...?
Okay, so I hope there's bada 2.0 gurus's that can judge if it's good now or if there's still room for improvement.

Trace/Swype bug
Swype/trace is functional even when you are searching for a contact or typing an email address. Really buggy.
It should only be used for text fields that are meant to be for sentences.

sorry, I dont have bada 1.2, so I need to ask:
Was this bug already existing in bada 1.2? Here I only collect OLD bugs to keep the list handy and focussed. And to list things where it's REALLY TIME to get fixes and not have these forgotten.
THX for reporting anyway, Ray
Apps Installation Limit
A few users have posted that the limitation for apps installation
(max of 10 pages for apps) has been removed in Bada 2 but then i heard in this forum that there are still limits on the number of apps that can be installed if they are installed on the memory card...
is this true?

Here it's the question if it's seen as a bug or if it's seen as a design desicion of bada team. To answer that better, we should know how other Smartphones handle that. If bada is the only one with limit, then it's at least a disadvantage that an amount of people critisize.
So, what's the limits in iOS/Andoid/WP7?
Ray
So quiet here ...
I hope we don't miss to finalize the list in time - before bada 2.0 rolls out.

Apps Installation Limits
On iOS you can install as many programs as you want and make folders for the apps.
Same for Android 2.1 and up.
Dont know about wp7 BUT oldtimer winmobile 6 even the old winmo 5, smartphone 2001 platforms all allowed unlimited apps installation even supported folders within folders.
So does Symbian. In fact both winmobile and symbian supported unlimited text and contacts too.
ok, added as unconfirmed in first block, last item.
Thanks, bong

Ok, today I was checking in-call. bada 1.0.2 has an option during call, to reduce noise. So DevilM's seems to report a NEW bug in bada 2.0, not an annoying old bug. Anybody can confirm bada 1.2 also has this option?
Ray
still following bugs needs to be fixed...
1. gtalk needs to be kept running in background otherwise it just signed out... In bada 1.2 it was not like that instead even if you come out it would keep you online on gtalk and everybody can see you and send you the IM.
2. Exchange emails should be like iphone or android in that you don't need to go into company's directory to search the address book. It automatically searches while you type address in "To" field. In bada 2.0 you have to get into company option and then there you have to type and then press search and then select the contact and then it will come in "To" field....very painful process.
3. opera mini native app is still not available.
4. Angry birds and talking tomcat missing. (my 5 year old son still asks me why it is not there in such a expenssive mobile phone? He has seen it in lower end android phones.)
5. contacts sync does not happed two way. It only updated from outlook to mobile but not vice versa...)
6. Why music player settings are not present in music player itself. Same with internet browser. They should provide the setting in the application itself. we have to go to main menu and settings to change the equalizer settings and internet browser settings. it was not the case with bada 1.2.
Samsung please look into it.

What gtalk are you referring to?I am not able to find any gtalk at all.
No Noise Reduction?? that really sucks... Samsung replaced Call Recording feature on Bada 1.0 with Noise Reduction feature in Bada 1.2
I was expecting the availablity of both the features on Bada 2.0
Can anyone please confirm if these features are available on latest Bada 2.0 beta release?
Two bugs are not mentioned yet:
EASync for mails with GMail stopps working after a while and the email-profile needs to be deleted and added again for working...
If the shuffle function is activated in the music player and you go back to the list view, the player starts from the first song again.
I hope these are fixed in 2.0
new exlusive bug in official 2.0 is automatic time update.
bada 2,0 is not able to update the phone time from the sim network whic bada 1,2 did flawlessly
Tired of putting down your Nexus 7 to check a new SMS on your phone? Me too. Cloud SMS is run on both your phone and tablet to allow you to send and receive SMS messaging from your tablet.
This app works over the Internet and does not require bluetooth, does not share (or transmit) your contacts, and even hashes your account email for added security. Typical messages take about 100ms to transmit. Cloud SMS will be a commercial application ($0.99) when testing is complete.
A Note to Moderators: I was not aware of the rules for paid apps. I will move this discussion to the proper paid apps / announcements later today to adhere to the set rules. I apologize for not knowing the rules first. I'd really appreciate it if you could let me keep this here until tonight when I move it (I'm at work now).
Important - It was brought to my attention that this thread (paid app) should be in the general apps / releases area. Click here for the new thread where I will continue to support this app and discuss features and issues. Thank you everyone!

Required Permissions
Internet - (Needed to connect to the Internet!)
Send SMS / Receive SMS (These are used on the phone side to send/receive messages)
Get Account (This is used to read your gmail address assigned to your device. I never actually send this email, simply make a secure hash of the account to match against the Google Cloud Messaging IDs for your tablet/phone)
Wake Lock (This is required for Google Cloud Messaging)
Receive SMS (This is required to capture SMS messages to send to your tablet)
Vibrate (If your tablet supports it, I can vibrate/light LED, make sound just as your phone does on SMS - This will become a setting)
Read Contacts (This is used on the tablet to show the contact photo / name rather than just the phone number of the recipient/sender. This data is never stored anywhere).
Write SMS (This is used on the phone to add your messages to the stock SMS database to keep conversations properly synced)
Receive Boot Completed (This is used to automatically start on boot if enabled in Settings)
Using Go SMS? Do this:
In Go SMS, Under 'Menu -> Settings -> Receive Settings' - Uncheck the box that says 'Disable other message notification'
If still not receiving forwarding messages, reboot.
Any comments, questions, or feedback?
It sounds pretty good and 99 cents would be a great price for the features. I rarely turn on wifi/BT on my phone, so I'd like an app that just needs a data connection like you are describing.

There is already an app on the market with that name, for just this use. Tablet sms on the tablet, and desk sms on phone. I use it all the time. How exactly is this different?
It can be found here https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wxLDEsImNvbS5rb3VzaGlrZHV0dGEudGFibGV0c21zIl0.
I am definitely not saying you should not make it, just wondering about the advantages of your vs the already existing. They sound very very similar, right down to the name.

Is this the same as the one posted on reddit? Excellent idea nonetheless, hopefully an improvement on Tablet SMS. Would love to test.

I had no idea another app like this one existed, certainly not by Clockworkmod no less. I will of course rename it to something different. My app does not use anything but Google Cloud Messaging as a transport, and will solely focus on SMS leaving gtalk, gmail, and IM to other apps.
This app first and foremost is designed for myself and friends who just want SMS to work two ways from phone to tablet.

I've not posted this to reddit (yet?). Once the name changes and a test build is up, perhaps then.
What are the issues with TabletSMS on the market?
Please keep in mind that I want to keep SMS data as private as possible with my model, no messages ever go to database or disk.
App will now be called SMS Cloud unless there are further objections.
Cool, would like to see if this works better than tablet talk.

Looks good. I'm not willing to pay $5/yr. for the other app, but a one time $1 or $2 app that works would be great! I don't text much, but I would like to get SMS notifications on my N7 if my phone is off. I get 1 or 2 messages a month (from Virgin Mobile about payment due), that I sometimes miss because I seldom use my phone anymore. As long as this doesn't interfere with GrooveIP (that uses Google chat), I'm in!
I've been looking for something like this for a while.
Most apps are limited to WiFi and BT which is a shame and the already mentioned app is rather expensive.
Would very much be interested in something like this!
I'll test it out on my nexus 7. Right now I use Google voice for texting from my tablet but as you know it isn't my actual phone number.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Great idea especially with the added security added great price point, can't wait to see how it turns out!
Count me in for testing as well.
promising. I'll keep an eye on this thread. I currently use Table SMS/Desk SMS. I think a new option (if good) will be very welcome.
Really looking forward to seeing this develop. I'm using Tablet Talk at the moment and having to faff about with connections all the time is becoming a pain. Something like this sounds really good. I tried TabletSMS and DeskSMS a while back but the half-holo-half-awful UI was offputting and the annual cost isn't ideal.
If you can keep the UI clean (looking like stock SMS app?) and keep it quick and easy to connect then it should be amazing. Can't wait to try it out
I like desk/tabletsms but I might be willing to jump ship. Tablet SMS is a bit clunky and doesn't seem to always update properly. I'd love a clone of the stock SMS app when on a tablet. Also cloud SMS sounds better than SMS cloud imo
Edit: also, I'd be very willing to test and will be watching this thread
I just found out about mysms. It seems to be completely free and does what DeskSMS and the OP wants to do. You can also use a webapp to send/receive messages.

I've used mysms for awhile. Its actually really bad. Messages rarely send from the tablet to phone successfully and there are huge delays in messages being received and sent. I use Tablet Talk right now, its pretty good for at home use but it would be nice to be able to have a reliable tablet sms app over data.
Count me in on the testing.
