Google Ion 1.6 for HTC Hero.
This project aims at getting the stock Google Ion Rom to run on HTC Hero. No Rosie or any HTC apps will be ever added to that rom. Once fully functional it could be used as a base for cookers.
Current release: Lox-ION-1.0b3 (logcat)
What works:
- place, receive calls
- wifi
- Market
- GPRS
What does not do far
- bluetooth (logcat seems it is relative to libc.so - Uncompatible with current kernel ?)
- trackball
- compass & accelerometer (with akmd > logcat - with ak8973 > logcat )
- GPS
- camera
Note: devs please test hack and share if you fix anything or have any idea
Great! I hope the rest will be fixed soon!
I second that!
Great to hear it.
are you working on the hardware that doesn't work? and whats the progress.
you forgot to mention that the camera doesnt work aswell
Just flashed it, gonna see what I can get working(if anything).
I'd like to try it - but can you go back by using Nandroid - or reflashing Modaco's ROM ( I'm on 2.3 )

yes you can
I dont know how gecka feels but could we try and keep this thread informative
Just did a bit of snooping around and the GPS does work, you sure you checked it right? I did a bit of tinkering but none of it was related to the GPS at all. Trackball I'm still not sure about, the keylayouts have the same keycodes but still doesn't seem to want to work. Accelerometer just needs the permission to be granted to execute, except I'm not to sure how to do that cause I'm a bit new to linux. As for the bluetooth, don't get me started, its giving me a headache lol xD
hey i m using this rom and its working beautiful...man nice job and the trackball blinks when a phone is ringing ....but doesnt blind at the time of reminders....but still great job...
What about headphone detection? I know with the other Ion ROMs, when you plugged in headphones, it went unnoticed unless you downloaded an app to manually switch the audio over.

Hi guys,
Please, consider the [DEV] in the subject: this thread is for devs only.
If you don't give any fix, just follow the thread by subscribing to it and don't polute it! Thanks.
For now this build is buggy, you'll certainly find more and more bugs, witch I don't care for now as I want main functionality to work first (bluetooth, gps etc...)

Right! Wrong permissions on witch file ???
Good work gecka,
I'm downloading to have a lookie and install now, see if I can have a go at the trackball.
Can I ask a question though, whats actually involved in fixing these issues?? Is it blind luck playing with config settings and that, or are you getting debug output?

Well, both in fact. The only debug output I get is from logcat and device logs.
Some issues might also be tight to kernel version.
But please there is a how to cook thread

Market Apps
Hey all.
We've got a problem with the Donut Market over in the Vogue forums. In Donut, when we load up the Market, there are only 20-30 apps available. Going back to Cupcake builds, the problem persists. However, logging in with a fresh Gmail account gets rid of the problem (in Cupcake.)
So far, my guess as to the cause of this is that Google's server have taken note of any "pirates" accessing the as-of-yet unreleased Donut market, and locked them out. However, I don't see any complaints along those lines here.
So, my question to all of you is, while you say the Donut Market is working, do you still seem to have access to all the applications you did in Cupcake?

whats your build.prop?
I just put CM6 on my evo I wiped everything like usually. Everything is working great pulled all my apps from the market except two of them and when searching the market I can no longer find them. The apps are handcent sms and switch widget pro. Anyone have any clue what the issue is or if anyone else is experiencing the same issue?
Its an issue most froyo builds have had at one time..it will be fixed soon don't worry.
reading is tough.
Thanks MrDSL

Thanks for your useless comment but just to clarify I did read and searched around only thing I could find were old topics mostly specific to the N1 and had to do with build.prop and in one topic stated after FRF83 was released the issue was resolved. I wasn't aware it was still an issue with all froyo roms.
It does have to do with build.prop
Hey guys! I just jumped the sinking Sprint ship and made the move to AT&T. I got myself a brand new LG Nitro and immediately rooted and installed CM9. I'm used to the cm experience as I had an Epic 4G on sprint. Anyways, after installing CM9 my LED buttons won't light up. Is this a known issue? I could use some help because without the LEDs its hard to use this phone in the dark since I'm not used to the button placement yet. Thanks in advance!
I just had the same problem. Look through the setting. Turn auto-bright on

Derpp. thanks man!
Settings?
I'm still getting used to the settings of CM9 and can't seem to find the spot where that toggle is. Can you give me a menu ---> location pls?
Thanks
next time do a simple search and you will find a # of posts on this topic and none of them needed to clutter up the main forum starting a new thread about it.
learn to do your own research like 99.9% of the rest of us had to do.

I performed a search before posting and was unable to find a working fix. Next time, try posting something a little more productive and less useless trolling. Thanks.

Thank you for you input
Hi all!
First i would like to thank to all people that have made this forum, maintain it and help users. I am also very grateful for cyanogenmod that i am using.
Second of all, i have search this forum for a solution, and i didnt find it, i have used google too. If i have missed it somehow i apologize myself.
Since yesterday i am user of cyanogenmod 7.2.0-buzz and i like it so far (i didnt use any rom before as i had varanty which i didnt want to lose).
Everything is good so far, but there are 2 buggs (problems) which i dont know how to solve them, i would appreciate any help, even redirecting to another mod.
My problems are following:
- as several other members, i dont have working wifi (is there any solution for this in this particular mod version?)
- 4 main buttons of my htc wildfire always vibrate when i touch them (home, menu, back, search), i turn vibrating off in setting, but nothing happens. This is kinda annoying if text alot and surf the web.
So if anyone could help me fix it, i would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
I don't know about the WiFi problem but for the soft keys go onto to settings-->sound-->haptic feedback. This worked for me and I am running the stable version of cm7.

Ok, im sorry. I will. It was my first post.
Somehow, i got wifi to work. Now everything is ok.
Seems like i am notallowed to post in the development threads yet. Sigh.
Anyhow: I've been using thegreatergood's CM10.1 ROM for a while now, and love it.
I am glued to its corresponding development thread, always looking for updates and workarounds for the few bugs that remain - but i think it is a bit cumbersome. Issues get repeated, some get lost along the way, and a couple of answers are hidden between a couple of other unrelated posts.
Wouldn't it be neater to have a 'real' issue tracker for this (and any other, for that sake) ROMs? Does XDA offer something like this? Could that be hosted somewhere else?
Anyhow, my issues so far:
- Bluetooth Headset profile
- Audio in video recording not working
- Photosphere unavailable
- audio stutters if screen is turned off (seems to be a CPU sleeping issue)
- Something (i am suspecting Google+, even though i am not actively using it) is filling up my SD card with gigabytes of thumbnails, which i have to delete manually
- lockscreen takes too long to appear
- from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 the mount point of the external SD card changed again (so 'acast' cant find my downloaded podcasts)
- auto-brightness is choppy and slow
- GPS usually get a lock in an okay-ish timeframe, but always reports that it's only locked to "0 / 2 satellites"
- face unlock doesnt work (hangs when opening the camera)
That's all i can think of right now.
Still an awesome ROM,
M.

I concur, we need a bug tracker. Although I mentioned this in the dev thread, my concern seems to have fallen in deaf ears. No one replied to my post

Well, I'm in the same boat where I can't ask in the official thread so I can't ask my questions there. Lame.
Under the "working" part, it lists:
- Keyboard Keys
- Keyboard Rotation
- Virtual Keyboard (no slide yet though)
I don't fully understand what that means, and it sounds contradictory. Does the physical slide-out keyboard work or not? Its the main reason I bought this phone, so...

I think it means swype does not work yet bro. Has nothing to do with physical keyboard as it says clearly "virtual keyboard".

I would be very happy to help out!
Any preferences? Or are you using e.g. github already?
M.
UPDATE: maybe we can (ab)use XDA's wiki funtionality for this? XDA should really offer an issue tracker...
Great idea. Wish I thought of it before.
I have started a brand new bug tracker thread in the general section. Feel free to post all issues and problems there. I will update the OP accordingly.
Class now, will update in a few hours!
I was thinking more of a full-blown bug tracking system, which would also help all the other ROMs. But lets five this a shot...

Honestly, I'm not that sophisticated. If you can, that would be great. In the meantime, we have this :good:
No worries - wouldn't be that hard to do it in a 'pro' fashion.
But: IIRC, XDA has some policy of not linking to 'competitors' websites? I might be very wrong, though!
Could any mod confirm or deny this? Could we just say "go to example.com/CM10.1" to register bugs and issues?
Also: If thegreatergood already uses some (online) source control system (e.g. github), bug tracking would be a lot easier?
Cheers,
M.
