[Q]Audio Mod for HTC Desire - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have a htc desire which is has crap speaker when talking on louderspeaker or through normal ear speaker the sound quality is ****, i want to know if there is an audio mod add on which we can apply to sense roms, i understand richard trips kernel has the audio mod, but i prefer leedroid latest kernel which allows you to undervolt by your own preferece.
So my question is there a seperate add-on that richard has in his kernel that can be applied to any sense rom??? If so please let me know, if no, then please devs make it for us sense users plz...

If i am not wrong, there are Sense Kernels from RichardTrip. Why not give that a try?

[Q] AUDIO HEADSET BOOST for GINGERSENSE ROMs

when i used older sense 2.2 sense roms i used to be able to flash netarchys kernel and get a huge audio boost when talking over the phone with someone. also with CM7 roms such as Decks you can boost the audio in the advance settings i think with dsp manager . now with the new GingerSense roms such as Misfits or Virus's 2.3 roms i feel like it is extremely low. i feel as if someone is in the same area as me talking then i cant hear the person on the phone. being used to the old loudness gingersense roms seem to suck. so i was wondering what can i do in order to get that audio gain from before
thank you in advance for any help

low headset volume

ive noticed we have incredibly low headset volume? is there any mods i can use to gain a boost. right now im useing the volume boost app. but i would prefer a more permanent fix
Dsp manager. Look in xboarders thread, dl the flashable zip, flash from recovery or rom manager(if you must)

I have the same issue. Mostly want to boost the ringer volume.
I found few topics for DSP manager when using the search.
I'm not sure which one exactly works for Desire Z and sense roms.
A lot of people though complaining to stick on splash screen after installing and rebooting.
Anyway... is this going to work on Desire Z or not /sense rom ok/?

because in the comments here it is written that is not:

Thank you in advance too.
If you use Xboarder's sense ROM, DSPManager will work.
If you are on a stock sense ROM, it will not work.
So use a custom sense ROM because it feels the same but works even better.
What headphones are you using? I believe the output jack only outputs up to 32 ohms. If you use higher impedance rating headphones, that would explain the lower volume. I have tried to email HTC specifically about the output rating of the Desire Z, but over the course of 3 weeks, they actually told me that their engineers refused to divulge the info! For whatever reason...
What volume boost app are you using? Volume+ works decently. The difference is not huge, but it helps significantly. Only works on Gingerbread ROMs. What ROM are you on?
Volume+ is paid app on the Market, but free at the devs website:
http://androidaudiohacks.com/home/volume-gingerbread
redshoes you might be out of luck if you're not noticing any improvement.
The unity v4 kernel is supposed to sport a 20% audio boost itself and then paired with Volume+, I think that'd be about the best you could do. It's odd that Volume+ is not working for you. Perhaps you should bring that up with the developer.

Dsp manager works on unity, coredroid, synergy sense roms. As well as every GB rom I've tried. Never had anything negative from flashing it. There is only 1 dsp manager btw..

I've been using rmk 2.42 sense with the unitiy v4 kernel which is said to give a 20% increase. Volume is low( to my taste ) with the stock headsets that came with the phone or even skullcandys. I use volume boost which basicaly does the same thing. I tried the dsp install in the post above but I bootloops a couple times. It seems we have a limit set cause maybe of the 2.3.3 leak that has never been truly removed. The only solution I've seen is running a asop rom

Thank you, dkmurphys
I use Virtuous Doubleshot 1.1.0 RC1 with Unity V4 kernel – (I put it in my signature, but don't see it) ... and I thought of writting to the developer to ask him if I should or should not see any difference with the app installed
A little bit scared to try DSPManager. I read today more than an hour for it, there are a lot of threads for it.

[Q] Voodoo?

I dont know too much about it, but I heard it makes sound quality much better. Can someone tell me more about it? and is it available for the DINC 2?
That's Samsung technology, Galaxy S stuff. No-go on porting it to different platforms, as far as I know anyway.
If you want to improve the sound quality in your voice calls, try flashing a modified kernel. Just make sure you use a sense kernel for sense ROMs, and AOSP kernels for AOSP ROMs. I use JDKernel's 9/19/11 beta, he has a downloader on the market. Also you might check out Tiamat, he makes a good AOSP kernel. For Sense kernels, check out this link.

Tweaks i JB

Hi guys,
I was wondering will we have tweaks any soon on JB roms? Something like on ViperX rom.
I mean, most important tweaks to me are to be able to skip tracks with volume buttons and to disable sense lockscreen to use stock one. Maybe those two are already possible?
Thanks

I've 'gotta be honest, in my opinion, just wait until Team Venom release a ViperX'd Jellybean, the main reason Team Venom aren't rushing with it is because the developer doesn't want to leave anybody behind (me... and other people with incompatible cid's), which personally, i think is a good thing. So your best bet, in my opinion is to follow the Viper X thread and wait for the release (when everyone is supported) I swear by Viper X and any team venom developed rom, i will not be jumping ship. Ever.

[Q] S-Off with Firewater! Recovery with TWRP! Now what...?

Hey fine folks,
Got my Verizon M7 unlocked and installed TWRP. My question is what do I do now?
My old handset ran CM11 which I absolutely loved. But I read on some forums that using CM will eliminate the HTC one features like Beats Audio and the HTC camera. What are your experiences with this? Is Beats Audio and the Camera software worth using a HTC Sense based ROM? If so, what ROM offers there features and cuts out all the other Verizon bloat ware?
Or are these features simply functions of software? Can I use the superior HTC hardware with equally powerful software like an Equalizer or my Camera ZOOM FX app?
I definitely want to capitalize on what makes the HTC One special but I also want my CM. Can I have both? If not, what can I do to get as close as possible to a slimmed down HTC Sense?

You could try all of them! A sense Rom, cm11, or a gpe Rom. @santod040 makes an unsense Rom which is a hybrid gpe and sense.

Oh that sounds awesome. I ended up flashing CM11 and bought a nice theme for it. I'll create a backup and look into this.
Just gonna leave the forum for santod040's rom here for reference and so I know where to find it when I get home.

Thanks for the advice. What ROM are you currently using?

Why are you opposed to using a Sense rom? Sense 6 is very lean and gets out of its own way very well with great battery life, so you might be missing out on more than you think. Hawknest just released an update for Ecliptic that's inverted, so if you need a dark theme then there ya go. No one can really tell you what's best, you just need to do what Youngtusk suggested and try them all for yourself.
I just finished installing NuSense, I'll let ya know how I like it after a few days.
Thanks for the input and if there are other ROMs to try let me know.
