SIM Unlocking after perm root - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone try it yet? Getting my code from TMo and need to know if there are the same issues with not being able to connect to any network afterwards. Is there a fix in the works or already out since we have root? Thanks guys.

[Q] Phone issues

we unlocked this phone a few months ago and everything was working great.
last week sometime my son stopped receiving calls and txts and had a simcard icon showing that his sim card is locked. we did some troubleshooting with virgin and they determined he needed a new sim. so we restored this phone back to default and now there is still the sim card icon at the top of the screen. when we rebooted the phone it asks for a network unlock code. we were told by virgin to contact rogers to get this code. they were unable to help. i tried entering the unlock code that you provided us previously and we get an error unsuccessful unlock.
any ideas would be great.
so after almost two weeks of working with virgin and cellunlocker.net we still have not been able to get this phone working. im being told that sometimes when you update the firmware like we did the phone becomes re locked to the original carrier. i was sent a file to reload the stock firmware but the application just crashes when i run it. Does anyone know what i can do to get this phone up and running?? please help. thank you

Probably not a rom issue.
Probably will need to know what android version. ICS Official apparently has an issue with relocking from what I have read.

Camera not working

Tried to flash xdabebb's camera mod after running backup script. After flashing camera didn't work and flashing restore script doesn't seem to help.. please help........??
And Google camera says can't connect to camera ?
Fixed
Fixed it myself. Reinstalled zvc, then sim was not working, found out it to be caused by sim lock. Tried the permanent sim unlock in this forum, worked .
Now installed the mod and 4k is working fine. It turns out to be a corrupt download of that mod was the root cause

But this method won't work on US networks right? I have sim unlocked using 2FacedRom method and am using it on T-Mobile. The method was as straight forward as possible.

Region away doesn't work with kitkat...you'll need to use an online unlocking service (pay)

Yes the unlock is permanent once unlocked, rom/radio/anything won't change that so you're good. I used cellunlocker.net , it was very fast and went through without a hitch. Got my unlock code in about 25 minutes flat ! $29.99
There are other places, but I read good reviews about cellunlocker.net.
Good luck

[Q] Unlock Sim

Hi,
I have trouble unlock the SIM for the T-Mobile Samsung Note 2. I called T-Mobile and tried to use their code, but I guess I rooted it, so the code doesn't work. Is there anyway I can unlock it?
I recently changed the ROM to LiquidSmooth4.4.4 along with the Agni Kernel. It used to be SGH-T889, but after the updated, now is N7105. The new rom and kernel work great together, except I found couple minor issues, but I think it is normal. Hopefully I can figure it out later. But I really can't anywhere to unlock the SIM. Can any experts help?
Thank you.

I just want to unlock the sim of my T-mobile SGH-M919 to be able to us it outside US

Hello,
I tried everything to unlock SGH-M919 - M919TMBFOK3 , The most popular way I tried was to downgrade to 4.4.2 then root it with chainfire, downgrading the modemsto MDL then using regionlock away and the *#0011# sequence as in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile/general/unlock-method-m919-m919n-t3138503
However, I still can't get my phone to work with other sim cards. Even though I don't get the interface asking for a code to unlock it after I reboot, it still says invalid sim card.
Is there any definite way to solving my problem? I would be very grateful for your help!
Is there a reason you can't use an unlock code from TMo? The phone being this old, plus you explaining you're doing it to use it outside the US, I'm pretty sure TMo will hook you up with a code that works in stock.
The reason I ask is because I had the same issue a year ago when I travelled to the UK for work. I felt naked without Google Maps :crying:
Once the phone is running 4.3 or newer bootloader, you can't use the dialler method.
Yes, downgrade to stock 4.4.2, downgrade modem, root, run regionlockaway, flash stock rom, and phone should be network unlock.
