[Q] Windows Phone 7 and Outlook Read Receipts - Windows Phone 7 General

I have not found a way to turn off replies to read receipt requests. Has this feature been removed? It was an option on 6.5.

Outlook HTML emails

Hi all,
Is there any way to prevent outlook from blocking external pictures in the emails with WM6? It is really annoying to have to click twice on that tab to get them.
I looked in the forum first (long time) and couldn't find any info, also looked in the registry but nothing obvious.
For info, I get the emails from hotmail using windows live.
Thanks a lot

Email Notification of subfolders on HTC S620

Hi all,
I have just bought an HTC S620 and have been able to setup Activesync to an exchange server with no issues. I use alot of subfolders under my inbox to filter emails. I am receiving new emails no problem in my inbox and in the subfolders synched happily to my device.
I am only getting new email notifications on my home screen when emails arrive to my inbox. I would like to be able to see email notifications when they arrive in my subfolders.
I have a HTC S620
Running Windows Mobile Standard CE 05.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
Do I need to tweak a setting or acquire an app?
I had this problem too but how I got round was to delete all of the server filters and use the newer technique of smart folders. Im using OS X and Mail.app, but I think the new Outlook on windows should have smart folders too. With smart folders all of your mail is in the inbox but when you click on a smart folder its like a saved search so for example it can show all of the email from a certain sender.
This also makes it much easier to read email on the phone, because all of the email goes into the inbox you both have the advantage of seeing the new email notification, and you don't need to jump between folders to read it all, which can take many key presses.
You can of course still have regular mail folders for email that can't be automatically sorted.
By the way, general questions like this go in the general smartphone forum
Ah i thought i was beign device specific enough.
Exchange 2003 I am using is for work and they dont use/implement smart folders/
Anyone else have any ideas? i have the same problem, and my comany's mail server also doesnt support "smart folders".
TIA

ActiveSync Purgatory

About a year ago I tried tackling getting our ActiveSync from our Exchange server working with my AT&T 8525. At that time we were in no position to alter Exchange settings and we run out OWA service on a non-standard port. The ActiveSync client has no way to specify a port other than 80 for HTTP or 443 if you are using SSL.
Flash forward a year and it's now working seemlessly after an executive in our company bought an iPhone2 and demanded that it work with our Exchange 2K3 server. So we bought a cert from Verisign, opened up SSL and bam, it all worked. For his phone, mine and a couple others in the company.
The latest "undocumented feature" I'm looking at is Outlook Messaging notifications on my phone. I have a rule that takes emails destined for our department (most of them high priority) into a subfolder of my Inbox. Anything addressed directly to me stays in my Inbox folder. Now here's the part that is bugging me.
As long as the message isn't filtered to a different subfolder and comes straight into my inbox folder, I get the notification (audible and visual) I expect. If the message is filtered into any of the subfolders, I see the folder label go bold, indicating a new message has arrived, but I get no audible or visual notification at all. It only notifies me if something lands in my Inbox. All other messages show but no alerts.
I read on an iPhone forum where they were having a similar problem and on some other forums users report similar experiences with WinMo devices such as the Blackjack and other phones.
Clearly, it appears to be a shortcoming of Outlook Messaging on WinMo. My question is; is there a registry edit or possible solution to make Messaging on ActiveSync give a notification even if the message gets filtered into a subfolder?
I've seen people workaround the issue by disabling filters when they are not at their desktop so that all message come to the inbox of the phone, then reenable the rules when they are at their desktop. While this would work, it's a clunky solution IMO.
Has anyone ever found a workaround to this? Is this shortcoming fixed in WinMo 6.1? I'm running WinMo6 VP3G AT&T Official ROM (for over a year and still happy with it!)
Thanks for any insight.
make the move rule into a "On this machine only" so that when you open outlook on your desktop, the rule will fire and move the mail, otherwise it will stay in your Inbox

Mark E-Mails as read manually

Hello Guys,
is there a way to setup Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard (on a Samsung B7330 Omnia Pro) to NOT mark e-mails as read after opening.
Outlook has this option, but I can't find it in Windows Mobile. I just want to mark them as read manually. Maybe someone know a registry key or a hack for this.
Thanks a lot
Nils

New mail notification for IMAP folders

I know this has been asked several times, but I never seen a conclusive answer (and maybe that is the answer in and of itself):
When you use IMAP with Outlook Mobile (this is a standard internet IMAP account, not exchange), your unread message count and your new email notification is only for your Inbox main folder. Subfolders do not get counted, and what is more frustrating is that there is new notification. I used to have a Nokia E71 and used Seven email client on that and it also did not normally show the total unread in all folders, but it did notify me when an email came in in a subfolder, and so I'd check my box and if there was nothing, then I would check my subfolders for new mail.
I have also heard people say this is an Outlook overall problem, including desktop versions. I'd have to disagree. Sure, the unread count at the top level of the account is only going to show the unread in the Inbox, but I have been able to tell Outlook to alert me whenever a new message comes in regardless of its folder. But I haven't found a way to do that in Outlook Mobile.
Is there a registry edit that can help me? If not, has anyone found that System Seven works on WM 6.5 so as to alert you whenever a new mail is downloaded, regardless of folder? When I tried it, it didn't seem like it.
Any clues appreciated.
Same question here on wm 6.5. for 6.1 there is a plugin available "Message notify " from blackmon labs which does the task. Anyone got a solution on 6.5 ?
