There is a little bug with the Maps app if your System locale and Browser & search language are set to English (New Zealand) in the phone region settings.
If you go into the Maps app and hit the search key, it will bring up Bing search, and you also have no way to use the directions feature.
Temporary workaround seems to be to set the system locale and browser and search language to English (Australia), and click the button to save settings and reboot the phone. After reboot, you should be able to search for destinations directly within Maps.

I couldn't find anything on this topic anywhere and I am posting this:
On my HTC One X I am using the original HTC keyboard with 2 languages which I switch between - English and Bulgarian.
The problem is when I want to use the voice typing option and dictate to the phone. It always chooses the English dictation language, no matter if I am pressing the voice typing button from the Bulgarian keyboard.
If I want to dictate in Bulgarian, I have to manually change the language from "select dictation language" dialog from English to Bulgarian every time!
I made different tries in the options:
1. Automatic - the phone chooses English even while using the Bulgarian keyboard
2. Non Automatic mode, but both English and Bulgarian languages checked in the selection list - chooses again only English
I suppose/expect that choosing Automatic mode for dictation language must check which keyboard is used at the moment and use the voice typing language matching the keyboard. At least other software I use do this.
Anybody has the same experience?
If anybody has an idea why it happens and how to fix this I would appreciate an advise and help.
Or may be I am doing something wrong in the settings and I hope to get directions. Thanks in advance!
Anybody?...

Actually it works very well when dictating in Bulgarian. I am using it and it works just as well as in English. I was amazed and pleasantly surprised.
I only need the device to change dictation language automatically according to which keyboard language is currently active. If English layout of the keyboard is active it means I am now typing in English. Therefore if/when I press the microphone (dictate) button it should offer me to dictate in English. If I am typing in Bulgarian it should offer me to dictate in Bulgarian.
same here
I took some time today and figured this out. Here's what I did.
1) Navigate to Seetings > Language & Keyboard > Google Voice Typing
2) Disable automatic and individually select each/all language(s) you want to use during voice typing (i.e. dictation)
3) When you go to dictate a text and after you click on the voice/microphone button, you will see the 'microphone in a circle' icon, right above that there is some text with a half arrow, i.e. "English (US)". Click on the half arrow and the languages you checked on step 2 are listed and available to select. Pick whichever one you want and start talking.
Also, a customer support rep had previously walked me through turning on "Personalized recognition" and installing the "Offline speech recognition" package for Spanish. That actually helped a lot with the accuracy of the voice-to-text typing and commands in English and Spanish.
Right now if I use Google Now with cyanogenmod, if I say something like "set alarm at 8 o'clock" it will perform a Google search for that phrase.
I've set the voice language to English and I'm in the Netherlands.
Edit - Found the solution! Needed to set the entire system language to English.
Hi
I want my Google maps navigation say street names in Israel ( my phone language is English and street names are in english) like it works in USA or Europe. In Israel its says only "turn right/left" without any street/road names.
I tried to check the TTS options ,and its OK, set to English.
Tried to switch the system to Hebrew , still same thing.
Any ideas?
thanks
So, is it just my phone, or is everyone else completely lacking a personal dictionary? There is no dictionary in the settings or LG keyboard settings, and even if you install the stock Google keyboard from the play store, there is no where to add words/shortcuts. Is this right? Cause that's pretty horrific that LG disables the Google keyboard dictionary/shortcuts and provides none of its own for you to add words.
PS, I know I can type in the word and click add, but there's still no place to add shortcuts, and no way to manage the words individually. I even have dictionary sync enabled in the latest Google Keyboard, but with no dictionary on the phone, it does absolutely nothing.
Click on word suggestions if it's checked.
LG Dictionary
You also need to click on the text of Suggestions to see the dictionary. However, when you open the dictionary, you still won't be able to create shortcuts. That function is blocked.
I'm not sure about the LG Keyboard (as I've uninstalled it on my phone) but, if you install the Google Keyboard, you can go to Settings>Language & Input. Next, click on the settings button for Google Keyboard and go to Text Correction. There you will find the Personal Dictionary and options to add shortcuts.
Hope this helps.
You can create a shortcut to the user dictionary for the LG keyboard using quickshortcutmaker. You can also use Google keyboard to make entries in the user dictionary with shortcuts that will then work with the LG keyboard.
It's now under Settings > Language & Imput > (your keyboard name ie: LG Keyboard) > Word Suggestions > Personal Dictionary
I have installed Google Play on my Fire following the instructions on You Tube -
The normal four files as per Dylans Tech video
Now I get a pop-up asking me to update the Dictionary.
However, I can find no mention of this in Settings, not there !
I did read that on an Amazon Kindle it gives no facility to add/delete words to this dictionary. Is the the same with the Fire ?
Any ideas how I can get rid of this Dictionary update message, as it appears each time I power up, very annoying.
Solved
Go to:
Settings
Language and settings
Select keyboard
Keyboard settings
Personal dictionary
Under the English language option it will read something like " download waiting to update dictionary"
