I can't seem to locate any documentation/tips/threads in regards to sync schedule. I prefer not to be bothered during nighttime hours, and this was very simple to schedule in WM6.5 ActiveSync settings. I can't seem to find anything similar in WP7!
Any hidden settings I'm missing? Profile application perhaps?

No, you are not missing anything. Idon't think the settings exist or at least they are not available to us at the moment.
Discussing something similar on another forum and so far everyone has drawn a blank

I've been having problems with getting Windows Live Mail to sync all the time (yes, I have selected "sync when items arrive", but next time you look it has changed back to manual!).
I`ve been looking around in the registry and I think I've found where it's stored, could someone who's email is syncing correctly tell me what registry value they have at -

Additional to that, does Windows Live have to be running all the time to sync as items arrive?
Thanks
Rob
I`ve wondered that too, I have tried both ways, but neither seem to work.
I'm having the same problem.
Just in case you are wondering, if you click on "As items arrive," and click on "done" and they you head back to it, it will NOT stick to it. That is normal, it does not stick to it.
Synctype = 1
Thanks for posting this question. I too have just started playing around with Windows Mobile Live.
I seem to think that 'as items arrive' does not stick. Also I have had success with WM Live getting messages when it was not running on my PPC so I am guessing it does NOT have to be running which is outstanding. Also I see that it will force a data connection instantiously upon a soft reset of the PPC.
All this tells me that WM Live is dug in deep into the ROM! Now the issue I seem to have with it.
I am betting that WM Live breaks the data connection invisibily. Here is why... It seems to work OK for a bit of time. Then even through the data connection shows connected NO applications on my PPC can access the internet. They all try but no data is ever returned. A soft reset and all is normal. I notice this about once a day and usually overnight.
Now I can't totally blame WM Live for this... I can blame my carrier, the internet in general, sun spots, etc... It is just so many variables to keep a working data connection going.
I changed HTCustom to keep my connection always on, so I'll see if that helps. Well this seemed to help. I did not have WM Live running and sent messages at different times to my WM Live email and got them all suprisingly.... I did not get the attachements pushed but I believe some others have posted that as an issue...
I've given up on it, it just seems to flakey to me.

It worked in black 2.0, but not in any of the latest roms (black 2.5, 3.0, LVSW, etc)
Anyone know what might have changed?
hi
i have searched google prior to posting here and it came up with photo contacts, but thats a lot more than what i need, also when i checked compatibility it said if you have an HTC s620 you need the smartphone edition, but looking at the features the SP edition doesnt seem to detail the scheduled times of silence/profiles like the touch screen version
all i want to have enabled is this:
lets say at 11pm each night, the phone makes itself silent.
then at 8am in the morning it reverts to normal profile again.
on my iphone, i have the kate software which does that for me, but nothing i can see for the excalibur
if anyone knows of anything that would be great
thanks
quaddy
I haven't tried this, but I believe you could set up an appointment in your calendar from, say, 11pm-8am repeating daily. Windows Mobile can set your profile as silent just like being in a meeting for that time period. It'd be the cheap-and-easy fix.
CT Scheduler, Autoflight, and Switchprofile! are two non-free applications that can do what you want.
DontForget and Snooze are two free ones that might work.
Check clickapps.com, smartphone-freeware.com, and connectivetools.com for them.
Yeah just set an appointment at the time u want it to be silent and set your status to busy I think. Then set your profile to automatic to when even that appointment starts it will automatically be silent
I use Cell Profile Switcher, it switches profiles based on what cell tower i am connected to.

i havent tried i out yet but that might wrk
WOW - thanks for all the suggestions, greatly appreciated!

don't know why the tweaks that worked for my other phones is not working here.
I have WKTasks task manage tabbed to see what's running/easy switcing. Like all WM ppc, I see ActiveSync popup every minute, and I disable it. Using WKTasks to make it invisible is just like sweeping the dirt under the rug, i.e. useless, so with other phones, my solution has always been:
fdcsoft task manager3.1 disable replog appRunAfterTimeChange to stop MSActivSync from popping up.
However, the fdcsoft setting is having NO effect in my US TMO TP2. Is there another program I need to install to make these tweaks stick?
I asked the same question in another post re: can't disable aGPS. schaps's adv config 3.3 settings are not sticking either, so I'm missing something obvious here, I just can't find it.

i found no other way to disable repllog.exe(acitvesync)
greetz
^ Thanks, yes, that is a solution and I'd come across your post in my search, but didn't use it because of:
there are 3 repllog.exe in Notifications. Two of them are actually useful, like having ActiveSync wake up when usb/serial cable detected, or when manually pressed. The 3rd one "appRunAfterTimeChange" is the MSexchange one I can't disable, which was easy to do in my other devices, Herald/Kaiser/TP1. But with the TP2, the changes are not sticking, and the rom overwrites the changes as soon as the screen blanks.
I know I'm missing some kind of application unlocker or sdkcertificates to make the changes stick, and I don't remember doing anything else in my other phones.
The only way to prevent repllog from popping up again after every n min, is to create a fake activesync connection and set both the schedule (peak and offpeak) to manual. This is on top of removing the time changed notification. I did that and I dun have the repllog popping up all the time. And that bugger drains quite a fair bit of battery.
Thanks all, unlike the other devices, I had to do ALL 3 THINGS to stop ActiveSync from popping up on the TP2:
1. disable repllog.exe appRunAfterTimeChange notification using fdcsoft task manager3.1
2. create a fake ActiveSync server
3. "uncheck" the automatic time zone under Phone Settings.
here's the solution from the Kaiser.

What's wrong with activesync popping up? I never had it pop up while using the phone for no reason only when I connect it to the computer when I need to use it.

How does one go about creating a fake ActiveSync server?
Thanks
edit: Found the answer to my own question using ixquick

and combined with the other steps it worked!

Hi all,
I've searched the forums up and down for this, but couldn't find an answer anywhere.
Isn't there a way to assign a different sound to a particular contact's incoming SMS message event? I looked all over every "Edit Contact" option I could find, but no joy.
Before I got my Verizon TP2 a couple months ago, I was using an old Moto Q on WinMo 5 which had this feature. So I'm surprised I don't see a way to do this here. I'm running everything stock.
I hope I'm not missing something brutally obvious. Am I?
Thanks for reading.
Unfortunately I don't believe this is something WM can do by default. I've checked all of the sounds/notification settings and contact settings and don't see anything for custom alert sounds by contact. I too would love this feature, but unless there's some mod out there that can do it I don't think we'll be able to.
I know this software http://www.watchflag.com/home.do but I never tryed because I don't like programs that runs in background.. If you try it let me know!
Some of the old versions of Watchflag ran continuously but that's not true anymore. It launches when you get a message, checks to see if it should alert and then shuts down. Maybe that's what you meant -- just wanted to clarify!

Hi, does anyone know if there is any app that allows you to schedule or determine a time interval in which the device enable automatic synchronization?

Well first off I believe you've posted in the Themes & Apps section when really this should have gone in the Q&A section.... But..
I'm sure there is something like Tasker or another app that could do exactly what you're asking. But it may be worth your while to look into UnBounce.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54953199
It allows you set a time period for your phones Wakelocks and Alarms. You could definitely change your sync settings with UnBounce, however it may effect all of your accounts syncing . Take a look at it anyways, if nothing else it'll greatly improve for battery life!!
I use tasker to turn off auto sync at night and then back on in the morning.
