[Q] voice-to-text transcribing - Windows Phone 7 General

You guys know which WP7 phone(s) has voice-to-text transcribing feature?

at present only LG phones have them. so the optimus 7 and optimus 7 Q.

LG devices indeed have this feature.
But I have a LG Optimus 7 and I must admit that I still did not find where and how to activate this feature ??? If ever someone knows

check in market place. there should be something like LG apps. I noticed that not all the HTC apps were built into my phone, but they were up in the htc apps section of the market place.

[Q] How do you install unique LG apps on other WP7 devices?

LG Optimus has some unique apps such as Look n Type and Photo Stylist. Is it possible to install these apps on other WP7 handsets or are they only exclusive on the LG handsets? At the end of the day they work on the same OS so its just a question of somehow downloading them or side loading them on to a different handset.
Possible?
Probably not possible at the moment as they are custom LG apps and they will be on LG's private section of the marketplace.

[Q] DLNA for all Windows Phone 7's

How cool would it be if Microsft poked LG in the eye and pushed out a OS update to Windows Phone 7 that enabled the software 'Play To' on all Windows Phones?
Is this a possibility? Could be if Microsoft decides that all its phone's should sport this feature. But Microsoft and LG probably have a non-disclosure agreement in order for LG to have a unique WP7. How long could that last?
Or maybe some cool one on XDA can offer 'Play To' up to all WP7 devices.
Something tells me that since Microsoft is trying to regain market share, that they will push out an update. It is probably avialable now since they are part of the DLNA alliance, but they cant push it because of LG.

Tethering is possible!

Well on the Samsung Focus anyhoo:

This seems to be Samsung only, i just tried this on my LG Optimus 7 and it adds an app called MFT to the app list but requires a password

Same with you. Only show the MFT and need password.
Try 1234, it is for Omnia...
Awesome. Things are starting to look good!
That is really good.
Tethering FTW
works for me!
[As I posted at PocketNow.com]
I used Samsung Focus. This post is such a life saver! My only gripe against Windows Phone 7 was lack of tethering (I rarely used copy/paste in Win Mo 6.5 and I can live without 3rd party multi-tasking for a while at least). I was spoiled by using WMWifiRouter to connect my netbook to the internet.
Now I can thanks to this hidden feature! I was just able to connect my netbook running Windows 7 Starter and I got Dial up Networking just fine (its been a LONG time since I had to see DUN!). My setup was slightly different: I could not see the Samsung Focus in the ‘adapters’ list and so I ran the DUN wizard and, voila!, I have broadband. I tested speed at Speakeasy.net: I am on east coast. Download speed at Los Angeles was 2.54 mbps. Download at Atlanta was 3.84 mbps. Pretty good!
Now I truly love my Samsung Focus!
Can anyone confirm if the LG and Samsung diagnostic app is the same or just similar?
I have a HTC and am curious if this app is a MS one or if it manufacturer dependent (hopfully MS as that would give HTC folks a better chance of seeing it soon!!!).

NoDo>Mango. what apps work (reg, file access, etc)?

Hey all,
Got a Dev-unlocked phone running mango, seeing the limits (3 apps, no file or registry access), I was going to roll back, find a list of apps that work, then upgrade again (mango is just awsome otherwise the new limits).
I have a CDMA phone, so some hacks don't really work as well.
So, what apps work in mango, that help access the registry, file system, extending the deployment limits, etc ? What is the process to correctly install them ?
Is there some app I should have to make sure these work and stay working with mango ?
I heard TouchXplorer works but, others to not. Does anyone know if Windows Phone Device Manager works (this seems to do almost everything here) ?
Thanks for any help here.
I see this question asked in a lot of threads but, no clear list, so I think this is needed here. Tool apps that you install in NoDo that will still work in mango...
Thanks !!
Screen capture doesn't work sad face

Navigon Selects works in Mango. I had it working when I had mango on 3 separate occasions (I went back 7 forth between NoDo & Mango a few times trying stuff).

SamsungRegistry and Samsung tools stills works and so does chevron ring tone maker just not sure if it will accept new tones but my zelda one still works Also with the samsungregistry app it seems I can view and change without issues i just have to know the path first no browsing at all.
Added the xap to this post for anyone wanting to try it..

Only works on LG phones, just like the Samsung apps only work on a Samsung....
Am I seeing nothing really works, unless you have a certin phone ?
Is there any way to remove the sideload limit on an HTC CDMA Phone in mango? I have an official developer account and can unlock both mango and nodo
I have an LG E900 and the LG network setup app does not work.
I have tried all above that were mention in this thread and none work for me on my htc hd7s from att ,but just having mango on my phone it run very good i really like the messages all-in-one part.

Are you able to deploy those apps while using Mango? I hear people are getting an error when trying to deploy apps that use interop. Both of those apps do, yet I can deploy them in Mango just fine, as well as any other interop apps.

As expected, it deploys, but exits shortly after trying to start, which means that the COM DLL that you are using is homebrew. Only authorized COM DLLs can be used with interop on Mango.
The most random one I got to work on my Focus is the flashlight app that uses the flash. Pretty handy so I'm glad I didn't lose it...
Now if we can only figure out a way to get accent changer to work again I'll be happy as pizza.
Did you have to do anything special to get it to work? I restored back to NODO on my developer unlocked Focus and installed it then upgraded to Mango and it does the same thing as all the other apps with interop problems. I used the samsung registry app that you posted today.

[Q] Need some info

I noticed there is not a forum for the LG G-pad 7.0 for some reason... is it lack of desire to develop on this platform?
I have the 7.0 G-Pad and love the device. Its the perfect size for texting and email replies, in fact I now rarely pull my phone out for these tasks, I do them all on the tablet...
So I wanted to jump on here and see if anyone could answer a question for me in regards to the 7.0 version of the G-pad (I know I'm in the wrong forum but there isn't a 7.0 area)
I have rooted my 7.0 G-pad and thus far left the oe rom on it, mostly because there isn't a forum here for this device. I have a couple apps that I use on a frequent basis on my phone but the play store will not allow me to D/L them on the tablet. It says "Designed for phones" when I search for them on the play store.
So my question is, What can I change on the build.prop (and to what) to trick play store into allowing me to D/L all apps, not just "tablet" apps......
I appreciate your time.
