Nope. The auto brightness is great. No trouble seeing anything on the screen.
That's a very good point, I've been using it outdoors and could see it perfectly!
so why go super amoled when amoled is enough? I mean they made super amoled to also curb the sunlight eligibility problem but after using my desire, I say "what problem are u talking about?" ...I was using a Samsung innov8 before and it was so much worse which is wat I call, looking at myself on the screen under direct sunlight....

Perhaps it has been extra sunny recently, but even on full brightness I find it hard to see much detail on the screen
it's definitely harder to see in sunlight than an LCD screen (for example the iPhone's screen)
Desire screen maximum brightness: 229 cd/m2
iPhone screen maximum brightness: 428 cd/m2
The Desire display is also "glossier" than the iPhone's:
Desire screen reflectance of ambient light: 15.5 percent
iPhone screen reflectance of ambient light: 9.2 percent
Theres no question about it really, it's much harder to see in sunshine. (But the price is worth paying IMO)
I've had a couple of times I've needed to hold the phone at a bit of an angle to see some text properly, but it's not really been much more of an issue than LCDs on phones I've had in the past.
Blimey, I see night and day difference. The amoled screen in bright sunshine is pretty useless. Amazing indoors, perhaps equal in the shade, but something needs to be done for proper sunshine .

In my opinion, I think it IS harder to see in sunlight but it's not impossible and it's certainly not as bad as sites like engadget were making out.
I took my touch hd (lcd) and desire for a walk in typical extra sunny italian day, at 1PM: they both are hard to see if tilted so that the screen reflect the sky, they both have the same degree of reflection.
It's not impossible to see stuff but it is hard, by titling the phone so that it basically reflects your face it becomes quite bearable. Perhaps the desire can show a bit more detail if using black and white screens because of the higher contrast.
Regarding the previous comment about LCD being better than AMOLED in sunlight, I partly doubt it, since you used an iPhone as comparison which is well known to have a particularly bright and readable LCD screen (can't remember the technology now) basically like super-amoled stands to normal amoled.
I would have gladly taken super-amoled if it came on the desire even if it made the price a bit higher, that said the screen is so superb in normal conditions that I really can't complain...
get an anti glare screen protector but no more phone mirror if you do ofcourse

not trying to be ignorant, but have you guys tried full brightness on the setting for the desire screen and go under sunlight?
i did some typing(well normal use test), and i can see the screen clearly actually...maybe i have bionic eyes
Yes have done and still find it relatively dim to see. Worse say that a camera LCD screen.
Desire IMHO already fares much better compared to Nexus One because the Light sensor is less prone to fluctuations, maybe at the expense of a little more battery juice but at least I am going ape-crazy with a glary reflection + incorrect screen brightness like on N1.

I have hd2 and desire side by side, and desire is slightly less readable on direct sunlight.
But it is perfectly readable, there is no room for panic.
I have seen HD2 under sun, and it's far from perfectly readable. Actually, my Kaiser is better, and I am not happy how it looks under sun, so if Desire is even less bright I don't see how it can be good.
So far iPhone is really good under sun, every other phone is just more or less bad.
There was a video on youtube where they've put some 8-10 phones together on a table outside in a sunny day and the camera would sweep over them to see the degree of reflection and readability. It wasn't very accurate because it took some phones more tilted than others but it showed pretty clearly that the desire wasn't very different than most and that the iphone was quite better than the rest.
There is another video which compared super-amoled samsung to an iphone in direct sunlight and in that comparison the iphone seemed poor.
Cranking the brightness up to max I think doesn't have much difference than leaving the light sensor on, especially here in Italy where sun is quite strong. I've also done some comparisons and didn't see much difference.
Last thing: I have a Martin Fields screen protector on my touch hd and a cheap one on my desire and they both work equally well, so I really can't see the 13€ difference
I've never had a peroblem viewing the screen. My previous handset (Samsung i8910) also had an amoled screen and I didn't have any problems viewing the screen on that handset either.

auto brightness is good enough for me :]
having had the mozart for a week I'm thinking of changing it to the samsung cause i'm not that happy with it :s
poor loudspeaker sound volume
dolby just seems to be pointless and not an improvment to sound
seems to have poor battery usage
havn't had a samsung version in my hand yet so can any comment on at least those 2 problems? is it worth the swap.
The screen on the sammy i'd probs prefer as its a lot more vivid (cant from a desire anyway to wp7) and the slightly bigger screen size and I can loose the camera and be happy with 5MP instead of 8MP.
But is the phone actualy better? any advice would be handy before I blow more money lol
The battery life should be better on the Samsung.
All the reviews I read stated that the Omina is better than the Mozart.
* Most HTC WP7 devices are known to have very weak batteries (sometimes 1.230mAh). The Omnia 7 has a 1.500mAh battery.
* The Omnia has a great S-AMOLED screen when the HTC only has a S-Lcd or even an old Lcd screen.
* Also the Omnia 7 has apparently a high quality camera and can take nice pictures or videos. The camera of the HTC is not that good.
* Speakers are always awful on most HTC phones, so the Omnia 7 can only be better.
I used to like HTC, but definitely the Omnia 7 is far far better
think all phones have a battery problem these days they need to discover a new way to power things A day's power on a phone shouldnt be a hard acheivment though rather than say half a day.

People are blowing AMOLED out of proportion. Remember that the WP7 UI is pretty text and contrast heavy. The Pentile pattern in AMOLED lends itself well to pictures, but not at all to text. You'll be having color fringing on all text.
If you go with SLCD, you might have a little light bleed on dark surfaces, that's mostly just noticeable when it's pretty dark around you, but you get really sharp text and no in-your-face colors (yeah, AMOLED has vibrant colors, but they're annoying with time).
Also, when lit up bright, AMOLED draws way more power than SLCD. If a majority of your activity is browsing the web, you'll be dealing mostly with websites that have white or bright backgrounds.

The problem with S-Amoled:
S-Amoled is great for black. Because the contrast is very high and the black will be truly black.
But on the contrary S-Amoled will not be good for white. It's kind of blue.
Therefore it will be more difficult to read the text on webpages than with lcd.
Also S-Amoled is supposed to consume more battery when the screen displays white color (e.g. when you browse on the Internet).
S-Amoled is also weaker when you are outside.

omnia 7 and if thats not upto scrath then i'm going desire HD again on android.
BTW the 8MP camera on the htc seems pretty crap, lots of blur and unviewable pics even though its clear on the screen. There's a long delay with the 2 flashes and the pic taking which makes it terrible. Thats with the default settings though as i've not touched it.

The Omnia 7 is one of the best WP7 device on the market. The Mozart just an average phone.
Omnia 7 definitely. for the quality of the camera, for the quality of the screen, for the bigger battery, etc.

How are you finding the Omnia 7? I have a HD7 I bought a week ago and am unhappy with it, I'm thinking of returning it and getting a Omnia 7 instead.
The only thing i'm concerned about is the camera...I really like both phones. And in my opinion the only diffrences is the display and the camera. I know the diffrences between SAMOLED and SLCD...So the only thing missing is the diffrence in camera.
Is the Mozart 8mp camera better, or is the omnia 5mp camera better.
Could someone, whos tried both tell me his/hers opinion.

I can tell you right now the Omnia will have a better camera. It's not about pixels. The sensor is what matters and HTC's usually are pretty bad.

I agree that HTC camera usually are pretty bad...But what about now?
Is Omnia the better one? I know that the sensor are the key feature here...But still 8mp are more than 5 mp...

I got the Omnia 7 nearly 2 weeks ago and can say without a shadow of a doubt its better than and HTC device Ive ever owned (from early win mo, to android, its been HTC all the way for me - just to provide evidence of non bias).
The camera is excellent on the Omnia, for both pics and video (I'm editing some bonfire night footage right now so will link to it once done), will also link to some random shots taken in different environments.
From boot time, to general use the phone is simply blazingly fast - and from what I read in another post it seems that samsung used Nand memory in this phone, hence the blazing speeds for games and boot (opposed to built in SD card).
The only negative is its 8GB, and thats it, but I never intended my phone to hold a musical backup nor do I see it as a grind to swap out music thats getting tired, videos are another story as they are generally a 'watch once' media (especially on the phone).
I cant faukt sound quality, I moved from a hero and the difference on audio quality is astounding (mainly use it in the car using the stereo audio in), brilliant.
The screen, well - this is simply astounding, its so clear, no blurring like people have mentioned and the colours are brilliant, to the point where non techy and techy folks are WOW'd by it completely! its my iPhone killer

Cool, I look forward to seeing some pictures and video if you recorded some.
I've bad my omnia 7 since release date, and it's absolutely amazing. The screen is perfect, I've had no trouble in the sun, no bluey whites that people have mentioned. Also there is no problem with text at all. The phone is really nippy, and much better than other phones running off SD cards.
I also tested out the camera a lot, and love it. The pictures are amazing quality.
I also took some firework footage in 720p, i need to edit it together too. Only one thing i can fault when recording, sometimes the auto focus stopped focusing on the fireworks, which is understandable i guess. i was surprised how well it picked them up anyway. It always managed to pick up the lasers too. (please note this is coming from a complete novice to taking videos).
But overall the 720p video footages is amazing, especially from a phone :O

Forgot to add, the favourite bit about my phone is the screen, because it is just amazing, when the blacks are so true, you can't see where the edge of the screen is, it blends in with the phone, what iphone can do that?!
First things first, I have the Omnia 7 and I love it. But at the same time, I know it's not going to be for everyone!
Everyone is waxing lyrical about the screen. The screen is indeed fantastic and especially with the black theme with coloured highlights and white text of WP7, the screen really is something to behold.
But having said that, there are factors which people should consider when getting this phone.
Sure it is faster than phones using the microSD cards but which would you rather have? 5GB of usable space, or upgradeable capacity?
For some, 5GB is not going to cut it...a few albums and a few videos and that's your phone full.
You can upgrade the likes of HD7 with a higher capacity card and it will run a little slower than the Omnia 7 but at least you will have most of your music stored on it.
so it's down to screen and speed vs capacity.
like I mentioned before, I have my dedicated mp3 players for music so the Omnia 7 is perfect for me.
If for some reason you prefer the below par sound that your phone will give you and would like to use your phone for music, then I'd have a good think!
plus the HD7 and Mozart screens (esp the latter) are really good.. just don't look at the Omnia 7 screen first!
Many people believe that SAMOLED screens on Samsung devices are far superior in every way to other devices. Recently with the addition of all these new and similarly spec'd WP7 phones, it seems like a big deciding factor is the screen display.
I have used a focus and a htc surround for a week in addition to my iphone 4. Watching avatar on both devices, I realize that both screens have their setbacks, thats right even the AMOLED!
The general consensus with htc devices is that the viewing angles are terrible. Check out any video review of a HD7 or Surround and you can see that the screens are extremely washed out when viewed at an angle, and unfortunately, many of these reviewers shoot their videos not head on for obvious viewing reasons.
But when viewed normally, the wp7 htc devices are definitely not as awful as at an angle. Still, it is nowhere near SAMOLED crispness or vibrancy. One thing I did notice, however, is that when watching the same video or viewing the same webpages on my iphone 4, I can rightfully say that the lcd screens from htc are just as good as the overly praised retina display. The differences of colors and sharpness between the two are too subtle to tell.
The SAMOLED screens "pop" in color and vibrancy. Whites are glowing white and blacks are dead on black. No one can say that the Samsung did a bad job on their new screens. However, one thing that people tend to misjudge is the color production on their devices like the focus or omnia 7. It seems that while the surround may not produce white and dark as vibrantly, the ACTUAL colors (red, blue, green) are pretty close to what they should appear. What I am saying is the SAMOLED screens are TOO SATURATED. Again this could all be subjective, but I find that the SAMOLED screen just goes for as vibrant and colorful as they can get, disregarding true color tones. For instance, skin in pictures looks intensely orange and I have never seen skies so blue in real life. Webpage colors can be a bit to contrasting as well. And my opinion is from comparing the SAMOLED to my macbook pro LED screen.
I watched avatar on my blu ray and compared it to the surround and the focus. unfornately to say, the focus just makes the navis look almost syrup-y bubblegum blue. The high contrast of samsung screens are good in some ways but in others, it just seems overdone.
HTC may have made their screens to warm in color, thus appearing a bit washed out when comparing to other wp7 devices. But the AMOLED screen seems too saturated in color production, not just compared to my surround, but also my macbook's screen as well as my LED tv.
So in the end which would you pick? What are your guy's thoughts?
I've never done that kind of testing but my captivate has an awesome screen and I would put it against any other screen. The ritna screen isn't as impressive as apple makes it out to be. At least for me. But I will say these are the best out of all of them. My friend just picked up the x10 and boy does the screen look like $h!#, next to mine.

I 100% agree with you, infact I have had alot of iphone 4 users comment on how good the screen is on the HD7 which shows what a difference using the phone in a normal way makes when compare to viewing at some obsure angle.
I also have always though the colours look wrong on OLED screens, but having said that, I have always though that about samsungs HDTVs, they seem to over exagerate all the colours and sharpness to make you initially go "WOW", then when you think about it, they just look wrong.
Personally, im happy with my HD7 LCD, and would take SLCD over OLED at the moment.
The over-the-top vibrance is a reason why I went SLCD.
That and the Pentile pattern. My eyes are still well enough to notice fringing on rendered text as well as the pattern generally on evenly lit surfaces.
I had a Nexus One, the OMG-in-your-face colors get old quickly.

But do you think there is a line between displaying vibrancy vs true colors?
Sometimes when I view images in the focus, it feels like I opened a photo in Lightroom or Photoshop and just cranked up the vibrancy settings to the max, resulting in some drastic color contrasts.
But then again, the LCD screens of HTC do seem last generation. If only they could meet in the middle.

For me, WindowsPhone7 is all about white letters on black background and some coloured squares in between.
I do not watch videos on the phone and I don't have much photos to display.
So I chose the Omnia7 with that gorgeous SAMOLED screen because it's superior for my use.
SAMLOED ftw. IPSLCD (retina display) is old, Apple just upped the pixel count. Put that many pixels in a SLCD and would look gorgeous.

I went from Nexus to Trophy. Looking at the same pictures, I actually preferred SLCD. That and as I said, some people notice the Pentile pattern. Which also makes text fuzzier. With Metro being pretty sparse in busy textures and mostly text based, I think it makes more sense to use the display technology that has full resolution on all color channels. AMOLED has currently half the horizontal resolution on the red and blue channels.
In relation to Samsung devices, it's possible they're running their Digital Natural Imagine Engine in background. I haven't had a direct Samsung device with AMOLED, so I can't say.

That was a GREAT article and very informative, though it can get a bit technical at times. To quote some interesting conclusions from the articles...(NOTE THAT THIS ARTICLE WAS WRITTEN PRIOR TO WP7 PHONE RELEASE)

so there you have it. according to Displaymate,
iphone 4 = best mobile display
motorola droid (surprisingly) = best mobile picture quality
Samsung vibrant = best mobile display technology
Samsung is notorious for producing display panels with oversaturated color pallet.
It is true for their Plasma, LCD, LED's on the consumer grade television sets and now SAMOLED displays on the mobile devices.
the oversaturation of the AMOLED's have been well documented prior to now. it doens't seem to be a problem for many as everyone has different interpretation of colors in their own eyes anyway.
I just think when u put these phone side by side...and contrast and vibrance of the samsung phones is just ridiculous...true color representation kinda falls to the side
The Retna screen is very impressive because the pixel density is much higher than on other screens. That makes reading on the screen MUCH easier on the eyes than on other screens. You may not consciously know it, but eye fatigue does happen and it's a huge consideration when buying a device you will spend so much time looking at. It also means the text will look much better when/if you zoom in on it.
It's like comparing a crappy CRT monitor to a high class LCD.
The color reproduction on sAMOLED is nice.
However, there's more to a phone than the screen.
HD7 has more RAM than other WP7 devices. It has a bigger screen than other WP7 devices. It has more storage than many other WP7 devices.
The only major downside to that phone, IMO, is small battery and the fact that the screen is flush with the front of the phone. Unlike something like a Vibrant, if you drop an HD2 or HD7 on its face it can destroy your screen.
Of course, that can be somewhat fixed with a case... Some people don't like cases, though...
I like the SAMOLED screens, but when I looked at the HD7 it was better than I thought it would be. That being said I do still want the SAMOLED. The other factors leaning me toward the focus (or samsung in general) are the fact that the screen has gorilla glass, making it much less likely to be scratched and when I was playing with the Focus and the Quantum/Surround/HD7 the screen on the Focus also seemed much more sensitive and responsive compared to the others.

This might have to do with the fact Samsung places the SAMOLED display directly beneath the capacitive screen. Other phones have a much larger space between the two.
The result is Samsung phones are often thinner, and they appear to be more accurate and responsive.
i put my omnia 7 up against a hd7 in the flesh ( metal/plastic) and there is no comparison. Theres just no going back to LCD now. and as for viewing angles, seriously?, viewing angles on a mobile phone? are you kidding me? no one holds their phone at an angle! its not like we are going to mount our phones onto walls and have 10 people gathered around to watch it.
Since having my desire with amoled display for about half a year I won't go back to lcd/slcd because I think the colors are far more superior at least to me.
I went for the Omnia 7 as business device and I couldn't be happier. Build quality is surprisingly very good, perfect screen size for my needs and all in all I'm glad that I didn't choose the HD7 imho.

It may not be the sharpest of display and not produce the most accurate colour and I wasn't particularly impressed with Galaxy S S-AMOLED screen on android!
However IMHO S-AMOLED looks stunning on WP7 OS, it really compliments the Metro-UI and when put side by side with S-LCD running the same OS it's just not the same! It's for this very reason that I went for Omnia 7 over HD7.

Samsung plasma and in general any plasma is not as oversaturated as other technologies. LCD and LED displays from all manufacturers are setup to be in the "torch" mode (sometimes called dynamic by the manufacturers) to stand out on the floor. And to compensate for the grayish black level they oversaturate the color.
After you calibrate though, they all look the same, almost. LEDs will have a bit of blooming, LCDs will not be as black as plasmas and plasmas will lack the brightness in case you want to watch in a sunlit room.
The iPhone 4's screen looks pretty good, but 3.5 inches? Ugh.
how many have devices like this? It doesnt seem to disappear on mine until about half brightness up.. and even there i can slightly tell. is this a problem on most phones or only some? Also with light usage i'm losing over 10% per hour, doesnt seem right at all
All AMOLED screens have that issue at low brightness, it just varies from phone to phone. Give it a few charge cycles before you start looking at the battery. The battery on my Nexus drained extremely quickly when I first got it but it's been lasting longer and longer with each passing day (3 so far)
My screen is the same, you need to be at half brightness to get a decent image. Auto brightness in full darkness makes you think that the screen is totally broken.
yours has like bands of a different shade too? mine has one thick one on the right of the screen and it's pretty annoying.. about to go into the city tomorrow to exchange it but if there all like that then i dont know

Would it even show in a screenshot? Yes, it's AMOLED... that's the way it is. More than worth it.
It wouldn't show in a screenshot since this is a hardware related issue. And I don't think it's normal if it has brighter spots like explained. Mine isn't as smooth as you would expect either at lower brightness levels but it is not like explained by the OP.

All SAMOLEDs sacrifice clarity and color representation for slightly better black levels. Just the nature of the screen technology. All 4 Samsung models (and all 7 phones) I've come across have it.

I've never seen the banding effect before, and this is coming from someone in a household with two out-of-commission Galaxy S', two GSIIs, a Focus, and my Nexus. The PenTile screen door effect can get to me if I'm looking for it, but that's the only SAMOLED issue I'm familiar with.

Not only is mine grainy at low brightness, it also has a pink and green tinge (in opposite sides of the screen)
It doesn't seem to happen on the 1st gen AMOLED (Nexus one, not grainy at low light) or S-AMOLED (Galaxy S, it did have an overall blue tint, but it was on the WHOLE screen)
Not completely noticeable, but would have expected better. At 40% or higher, its barely noticeable.
Got the same problem 40-50% and its barely noticable, any lower and i can see much distortion.
I know its a hardware thing but is this something that might be fixed with a future update or are we stuck with this?
The screen will look grainy on white/grey backgrounds at lower brightness settings, but there should not be any vertical/horizontal banding on the screen.
My first phone had a vertical bar of banding going down the entire screen, and bothered the crap out of me. Went in this morning and had it swapped with a Nexus that has no issues. For the price that we're paying for this phone (especially those with International unlocked imports) it better be perfect.
yup, i only ever see it in one place (the grain), and thats on the store before anything loads (an all gray background). Don't see it on white or anything else... that i know is pentile.
Galaxy Note is similar at lower brightness levels, must be AMOLED.
iPhone 4S is best if reading at lowest brightness levels is very important,
but in brighter light the Nexus and Note look amazing.

A phone of this price deserves a perfect screen.
Look at iphone 4 / 4s. Sure the screens are small but there are NO ISSUES WHAT SO EVER. The IPS they use is basically perfect.
Ever since I got my Galaxy Nexus, I have had concerns regarding the screen:
1) It kills too much battery. Battery settings show it killing 50 - 70% of the battery WITH AUTO BRIGHTNESS ON.
2) There are LINES EVERYWHERE. The whole screen is very grainy unless the brightness is very high. But then it's too bright (especially for low light reading) and it will probably kill 80%+ of the battery....
3) Pentile matrix. Sorry to say but it's very noticeable. This is especially true for text that is white or red.

they are all kinda like this. Some worse than others. I just don't mind it as much. What is killing me is the camera...it is so bad...
Honestly, I don't see the graininess,even with this antiglare screen protector I have on.

Just about every new phone has the same two complaints... Battery and screen. Not that you don't have a valid complaint, I've noticed it too. I just don't think you are going to find that perfect balance in a phone.

I'm using the SGP oleophobic atm.
What really bothers me is the Vertical lines...
Try this. Set your background as a solid dark grey color. I guarantee you will see the imperfections.

The definition of 720p is based on pixel arrangement, NOT subpixel arrangement. it is a 1280x720 screen. By your definition, a 720p/1080p screen is only true if it is an RGB subpixel arrangement. So you would also say that the Sharp Aquos Quattron TVs that have a yellow subpixel are more than 1080p.
If you expected the equivalent of a current generation plasma screen shrunk down to a 4.65" screen in a phone, that's just unreasonable. Its the first iteration of this tech. Lines and grainy screens are AMOLED's version of lasting burn-in and high power consumption on plasma.
Also, everyone references the iPhone. Why? The colors are inaccurate and undersaturated, and the contrast is too high. It is NOT a calibrated IPS panel. Name-dropping IPS technology means nothing.

They are all like that.. it's a flaw of the pentile matrix that they used to build the screen.
auto-brightness makes it worse.
What's the point in setting up a scenario to expose the flaws that exist in every (gnex) screen?
Most people's use-cases won't involve that scenario and they'll be able to enjoy the screen without a problem except for battery life, but battery life is always going to be a problem for a display larger than 4".
In my day to day use of looking at things other than dark gray backgrounds and solid color fields, the screen looks fantastic and has one of the highest pixel densities of any phone display out there. (Nitro HD, Rezound, LG's 720p screen phone and iPhone 4/4S have slightly higher pixel densities.. but they're all a cut above most other phones available)
ok the wife and i upgraded at the same time...........i chose the GN she chose the iphone 4s.
and honestly i would be gutted if i had chosen the 4s !!! ive worked a lot with the sg2 and for me the screen is too 'in your face' colours are vivid...the GN screen has a great balance.........and well going from the from the GN to the 4s ..........jeez the 4s is tiny
That first point drives me crazy. It's a percentage of battery use, do you get that? It means that if the phone uses almost no power except a little when the screen is on, then the display will be using most of the battery.
What you WANT is that. The worst is when cell standby eats up all the battery. That means it's draining just sitting on the table.

OK fair enough.
People have been *****ing and complaining about this phone not coming out fast enough for months now. Now that it's out people are logging in here to ***** about it not being perfect.
All I can say is that some people are creating a lot of needless suffering for themselves. At least keep it to yourself if you are going to go through life with that kind of an attitude.
If 14 year old me could have seen this phone in 1991 his head would have exploded.
I'm not an expert, but I just sold my Bionic and got the G. Nexus. The pentile on the Bionic drove me NUTS, but I LOVE this screen. I don't see ANY screen door effect, and I have loaded a few HD Videos on it and watching them is GORGEOUS. The colors are amazing and blacks are better then my 55" Samsung LED with an 8 million:1 contrast ratio. My roommate has the iPhone 4, and his draw dropped at this screen, and we held it right next to the iPhone 4. Only complaint is video recording is shaky, glad they are adding video stabilization in 4.0.3. OH, and I looked at my battery usage and the display is 68%. I bought the 2100mAh battery (for 25 bux, and barely any size change why not) and am getting a good 8-9 hours with a lot of use out of it which is about what I got on my Bionic with the 2760mAh extended battery. So maybe the screen is just by far, the most power intensive component, hence the high percentage of battery use. Anyway, this phone, like all others, could use improvements in some areas, but I absolutely LOVE it. And am SO GLAD to be rid of my Bionic (GOOD RIDDANCE)

I never complained about it not being out lol. Hell I didn't even line up, just pre-ordered online and waited patiently....
It's just that: THE VERTICAL LINES...It's worse than the graininess part. These lines should not be here on a $650 phone is really my biggest complaint.
Honestly, it's just a matter of quality control. Some phones are worse than others ??? Well that just proves that it's the QC.
I hope Samsung ups their quality control so people don't get stuck with these visible lines on their $650 phones.

No, you can't tell it's pentile (no one has been able to and I doubt he's placed his screen under a microscope).
Maybe you should have bought the iPhone 4 instead.

The camera on this Nexus is crazy amazing compared to my previous Thunderbolt! The quality of the pictures is about the same but I can now snap pictures, with flash, almost as fast as I can press the button. On the Thunderbolt it is one picture every 5 seconds or so. Amazing!
