Seems like this has to be an easy fix and I'm assuming that custom roms have it. The resolution of the photos that stock Sense pulls from Facebook is atrocious. The Epic had great resolution for example.
Any way to flash a mod to make it any better?

What programs do you guys use to make your own wallpapers? Ive been trying to make some of my own, but no matter what I edit them with, or resize them to, they don't come out right on my G2. Thanx in advance!
Wallpapers for the G2/DZ should be 960x800.
I know what size they are supposed to be, its just even when I use a picture at that resolution it comes out distorted.

It might work,I used the Moment 2d gallery for awhile, but you had to get used to no multi touch and it would FC when setting wallpaper,so you had to do it from the wallpaper picker app,not the gallery; But it was alot faster,I finally gave in to the 3d version though.

I would give QuickPic a look. Quick, clean, sexy.
Gallery 3D is in the market as well.
Does anyone know how to remove the cropping when you set up a wallpaper?

If you're interested, I made a tiny app to do this a loooong time ago, but it still works on ICS. It's not a pretty app, by any means, but it's functional.
Just pick a folder, pick an image, and it'll set it as the wallpaper without prompting for a crop. Just make sure you're using a 1440 x 1280 image to get the best quality.

There is an app called "Wallpaper Wizardrii" with some better cropping options.

There is an app called "Just Pictures" that is great for wallpaper. It seems to do a nice job cropping the photos.
Hi,
I really dislike the nexus 4 stock gallery app. It's grey background etc looks really boring. Is there a better gallery app? Maybe from note 2 or galaxy s3? The stock gallery is not really changeable..

Best gallery app ever is still Quick Pic imho. It's nothing fancy like 3d but it's super fast and easy to use for cutting or resizing pics.
Try the Sony album posted back on the gnex forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1820232 Pinch effect is neat to play with and show off.
There is a newer version posted towards the end of the thread. Works great on 4.2.1 except for sharing (fc).
IMO QuickPic is pretty nice. You should check it out
I love me some .gifs!
Sadly, the Gallery app does not. Well, atleast animated .gif files. I will not tolerate this!
So, that got me thinking... Is it possible to make .gif files animated in my gallery without the need for a custom firmware or any of that gobbledegook?
What if, someone were to get the Gallery app's apk and modify it to be able to display animated gif files? Then Nexus 4 users could install that apk and just disable the gallery apk that came with the device.
Just a thought. I'm sure there's ways to make animated gif files work, but this could be a better, easier way to do it, if it is possible.
If someone wants to develop this, I'll gladly pay for them to do so.
Cheers

Thanks for the post,
Quickpic looks like a great app, I just wish it was called Gallery, and had its icon. Is it possible to modify the quickpic apk and change the app name and icon?

The dilemma is that Android doesn't quite support .gif playback, so this functionality has to be coded on other "dirty" ways.
Third party apps may be able to playback gifs using such methods, but this playback won't be as efficient until strong gif support is incorporated into Android.
Yea Ive been using QuickPic and it plays gifs with no problems.
