Do not know if it is my phone/software mix or o2 or all but:
3 times since I got the phone turning wifi on/off made it reboot
Each time when I was on a verge of wifi signal and phone could see network but not connect to it. If you click wifi off it will hang for 5s and then reboot.
Marketplace app starts loading, goes to loading screen and then 5s later goes back to main screen. That mainly happens when I have updates ready to load and at the same time if I were in market place and had to go to main because of phone call. After that if I try to go back to marketplace it will not let me till I reboot.
My main screen has first 8 tiles from MS. Phone. messaging, 2x e-mail, people, IE, Xbox and zune. Sometimes screen does not refresh on those apps. What I mean is if I start scrolling image of those 8 tiles stays on and you can see tiles moving in the background. My tiles are yellow so after a bit of up/dpwn movement all screen goes yellow on the width of tiles. As soon as scroll beyond first 8 tiles (they are off the screen) it all refreshes and goes back to normal. As soon as I go back to it problem is back.
Good job, report them to Microsoft.
All done. I can not replicate the screen one so until I do they take it on face value. However I did tell them exactly what wifi and marketplace do and how to make it happen on my phone.

Anyone has a solutions to this?
well there is a setting called timeout today, but that probably isn't it.
All I can think of is, try do a hard reset after you backup everything.
never happened on mine guys!
same issue here
and I don't remember if it behaved this way out-of-the-box when I tested it before purchase, so it must have been something we've changed
Hmm, I remember it will go back to the phone instead of today screen. Well, I have open a support case with HTC...hope they will reply soon.
Now this is weird.
My TP2 (WWE/Asia) came configured with region set to English (Australia) out of the box. It switched to a different region early on when I installed CE-Star to add additional language inputs. Today, I switched back the region back to English (Australia) and rebooted and the problem disappeared!
There must be something in the background that detect when the screen is back on that switches the TF3D to switch back to the home screen.

Confirmed!!! It fixed mine problem too. I switch to different region, reset and the switch back to my region. Do a test call, guess what?? it work now ...no more going back to the Today Screen.
It must be bug on the software or must be some other tweaks or third party tools that we might have install causing it :> Mystery!!!
Good Excellent finding.

Here is what I get from HTC support regarding this issue...
"Based on information available to the HTC Technical Support Center, your device is functioning normally. Reversion of the display to the Today screen provides you with quicker access to the notepad or other tools that you may need during the call. Pressing the call button returns you to the call screen. There is no provision or setting to return the device directly to the call screen."
What do you think?
Ok, I have do another test again.. when i install any cabs and then try to do a test call again.. now it break again, it go back to the today screen. and then I do the region change again and restart and back again.
Do another test call again.. now it does not go back to Today screen.
I guess it must be something to do when we install a cab that causing it.
Not sure about other users :>
The same problem appear with me too, I'm in Egypt and have the middle east version
any help please
You can disable it turn off the screen during a call in advanced config
just go to light sensor - light sensor polling, and disable that
I thinks this is what your talking about anyway
I found the solution.
Just install S2U2!!
Very nice app and keeps the today screen from over riding the caller screen.
The phone is supoosed to keep the caller screen active during a call.

Exactly!!, most of them are reading from a piece of paper.
never seen this problem..
As of late I've noticed that when I wake up my device it'll take me to my tile homepage, then quickly forward me to the lock screen where I'm prompted to enter my 4 digit pin. This never happened before and I'm wondering what's causing this.
Has anybody experiences this?
Yes, it's a tiny glitch that flashes the home screen then the lockscreen. Personally I had this with Windows Mobile 6.5, and it really bugged me.
Sad to see it here with WP7.
Maybe future updates will hopefully fix it?

Thanks for the reply. I figured it was a glitch. Hopefully it's fixed with an update. Ot only just started happening yesterday, and I've had my phone for about a week. :-(
Doesn't happen for me... although, after reading this, perhaps I should add "yet"!
It does not happen to the stock lockscreen wallpaper ... but when I change it, it jumps from the home screen to the lockscreen, hm
Weirdly enough, I got a Focus that had this same bug and it drove me crazy. However I had to return that Focus because Wirefly was threatening to charge me $300 if I used it on a different line on my family plan.
So a couple of weeks later I picked up the Focus from AT&T for the $99 price and now I don't have that bug! It's weird really...
Do you think this could be fixed with an update?
I had something similar happen with my HD7. Instead of flashing to my tile homepage, it would flash the color green. Then it would take me to my lock screen.

My wallpaper is still glitchy too, but not as much. Maybe like 1/2 a second.

I tried a factory reset the other day and it didn't help.
I just really hope that it's not the phone itself that's messed up.

I don't know if its the phone itself, but some people claim that changing phones helped. Most of the videos I've seen on Youtube with Windows Phone 7 apparently don't have this problem though.
For me, I have an HD2 and I've been switching WP7 rom's regularly. Of all the ones I've tried, I seem to have this problem.
My brother, who also has an HD2, claims to not have this problem.

Unfortunately, changing phones is not possible, as I have an unlocked Omnia 7 and the grace period for exchanges has passed.
It's a shame because I really love this phone and OS, but this bug is ANNOYING. It kills the experience.
If anybody else is experiencing this, please respond!
i guess your last hope is the upcoming update... hopefully it fixes it (and a lot of other bugs).
Video of the bug that I'm describing.

This user (who uploaded this video) is also having problems with his Omnia 7. It's the same bug that I described.
I'm having this problem too, but I've found an easy way to fix it (at least on my Focus). Whenever I have the brightness setting on low or automatically adjust, it goes away.

Lockscreen bug
Hi all,
I have samsung omnia 7 and i am getting this lockscreen issue
Code:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isi5aKDjnws
I would like to ask if some of you with different devices are experiencing the same or is it just with OMNIA 7??
This issue appears only if you have automatic brightness turned off..
There's been a few topics created about this. I believe it began because of users using PINs and wanting their information to be protected... That obviously has a bit of a security flaw. I'm sure it'll be fixed in the update.
Hi, i can also confirm this issue on my omnia 7. Fix is as described to turn on automatic brightness.. However, i would like to ask if this is WM7 bug or Omnia 7??
I've been having a a bit of a strange bug with my GN...
When i unlock and open for instance messaging app to look at SMS's...i see the screen dim a lot and come back again. If i open up settings screen dims like an LCD panel with no backlight. If i click back, screen comes back again or if i lock and unlock screen, all is OK.
I've done some fiddling about and it only seems to happen on apps with white backgrounds i.e. messaging, gtalk, gmail etc. If i open dark background apps i.e. phone app, settings or gallery it doesnt happen.
But for all those other apps when i launch them, screen appears to flicker (dim) and come back again...messaging is the only one where it dims completely in settings.
Has anybody else noticed this?
And more wierdness...in the messaging settings menu, if i scroll to the bottom the brightness goes completely and then comes back again, and starts flickering a lot...
maybe i'll try turning off auto brightness and see if it still does it...
I've had a couple of customers come in already saying they always felt like the brightness was on notch to low sometimes or just very dim. Considered it user error, just got my nexus in the mail and after set up brightness just dropped randomly to almost nothing...
soooo guess we'll see
ah well still did it with auto brightness off
wonder if i've got a borked phone or if others do it and they just dont notice...
EDIT: if anybody's interested in seeing it i've just uploaded a vid here
And i know i still have the front screen cover on...havent wanted to take it off yet!
Restored stone to factory settings this morning and i've not installed anything else or changed any settings (other than turning off NFC, wifi and mobile data)...and it still does it.
Think i might have a defective handset then...annoying though, it's only 2 weeks old but the place i got it from states
Phones that are faulty out-of-box as determined by our warehouse can also be returned for an extended period of up to 7 days from date of delivery.

So if i can't get a replacement out of them, what are the odds of samsung replacing it for a new handset?
Hmm pretty sure it's hardware, set desktop picture to something quite bright/white and sure enough when i was scrolling through the 5 homescreens brightness was flickering from one to the next...
What are the odds of getting a replacement handset after 2 weeks? :|
I had this same issue when I got my phone. I had a yakjuwx build in my phone.
Ever since I flashed over to yakju I haven't experienced it.
You may want to check and see what you have.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Mine is already running yakju from new :/ I might try re-flashing it tonight though just for the hell of it.
Is this not a bit weird that it happens only on bright/wight screens/backgrounds/apps? And that it's suddenly fine when you lock the screen...
If it was a laptop i'd be fitting a new panel to it but then i dont know what amoled's are like (especially combined with a light sensor)
Nope, still does it after a re-flash :/
Got a replacement handset now...
Like my first one, it was one of the early opened and re-sealed with samsung label handsets (and they hadnt put the battery door on properly, fingerprint on the SIM card slot!)
But anyways, waiting for the OTA update on this one
It's obviously running ITL41D and no OTA has come through yet whereas on my first handset it came through pretty much straight away.
Would the fact i've already had the OTA on one handset stop this coming through? :|
Hi,
I am experiencing some really strange problems with my phone. I have a 2-month-old HTC one X. I have never dropped it, it has never been in contact with any fluids or damp areas, also I have never tried to unlock and/or root it. It started two weeks ago. The screen started glitching and behaving weird. Sometimes it would stay for an hour, sometimes it was just a few seconds.
(sadly I cant post outside links, but if you search youtube on "HTC one X screen glitch" and than scroll down you will see a video uploaded by DjStasV. Thats what it looks like. But instead of only glitching on a small portion on the screen it was always the whole screen.
But now, it has gone one step further. Sometimes my phone won't unlock if I press the on/off key. The soft keys light up, but the screen doesn't. I can even get called, the phone will ring and vibrate, but I can not pickup because the screen doesn't turn on. For some reason it sometimes does unlock, but I have not been able to discover a reason for that. Also when I manage to unlock it, it sometimes just freezes (the screen). The phone still works (it rings, the notification LED works, it vibrates), but the screen is just frozen. (also a reboot by holding the power button does not work 9/10 times)
I am hoping someone will recognize this problem, and maybe even know how to solve it. Thanks in advance

*Edit 2* This is apparenly caused by "LastPass" which I just enabled prior to this crashing. Thank you to EddyOS for helping me out.
Good morning, *crazy realization / edit down below*
I just got my HTC One M8 yesterday and it is really nice, but one problem is that every time I click the camera app button, or launch the camera from the lock screen, I get this crash every single time.
I have reboot my phone, not installed anything weird or crazy, and this is just nonstop happening.
The only way I can actually get to my camera and use it, is if I turn t he phone off, flip the phone 90 degrees so I’m holding it like a camera, and pressing the volume down button to do the quick launch camera.
Everything else I try to get to the camera with crashes.
This is beyond frustrating.
Thank you for your time,
-----------------------
*Edit 1 - I realized that whenever I am holding the camera in "landscape mode" it works fine and doesn't crash / launches fine. As soon as I 'stand the phone up tall" it will crash. I can even launch the camera anytime if I am holding it in landscape mode when I press the camera app and it opens fine. As soon as I stand the phone up the camera crashes! This is the worst bug I have ever had in a phone and is starting to make me regret going with HTC again (going on 7 years straight with HTC but I feel let down).

If I had to factory reset this phone less than 12 hours after I received it in order to get the most basic functionality out of it, this sucker is going back and it will be the first time in 6+ years I have not gone with an HTC Flagship.
Nice phone but very disappointed with a few things (this crash is beyond making me mad) and this is coming from an HTC fanboy. I just can’t stand to see Samsung be the only ones with no competition thus bringing down quality for everyone which was the main reason I support HTC as well as their innovation. This just sucks though.
personally i'd reset it.. if it happened again i'd agree with you.
Tech is tech.. sometimes things go wrong. I've not seen a single other user with the same problem.
good luck
