If this has been answered somewhere else, then my apologies.
Does anyone know if there is a way to get clockwork recovery to stick yet? I know there was a problem with not being able to write to that partition due to the spl, but I read a twitter post saying something about slide users updating their recovery image the other day and was hoping someone could clarify.

As of now, there isn't a perminant recovery without update.zip. waiting on new kernel in order to do so.

THE ONLY THING I WANNA KNOW is if it's true that for 90$ HTC (not t-mo, not whatever, only HTC) will give me a new phone (because mine fell to the floor from a really high height, and while everything works, it's really SCRATCHED, and the top part (the screen, the part you slide) got separated from the keyboard (now there's a gap between both middle parts). IT STILL SLIDES perfectly. Anticipated thanks.. OH, AND IN CASE IT IS TRUE (the 90$ thing), where do I fill a form or something like that?
oh, and btw I live in Paraguay (south america, no htc here).. and in case the 90$ thing isn't true.. what else can I do to fix my Slide?

I'm looking into a Nokia n900 but for the meantime I am sticking wit my Slide
not me, if it was the Desire HD I'd be more inclined to consider it. for me they are gonna have to come stepping a lot better than this to get me to drop atleast $200 on another phone before next summer. minimum... 2nd Gen Snapdragon 1.2GHz, 4+ inch screen and hard keyboard (yeah, Swype is faster for most but with my hands being jacked up from turning wrenches for the Army I prefer real keyboard)

Nope not till they get some OTA's to it to fix the signal problem its having. I hear it doesnt get a good signal as other android phones do. Thats the problem I had with vibrant. maybe in a month or two.

The diference between the desire hd and new mytouch, is that the desire hd has a bigger screen, no FFC, I think no HSPA+, but it has the better newer sense ui, but rumor is HTC is giving phones updates in december of this year, to get the new sense ui

The main thing i love about this phone is the slide out keyboard. mytouchHD or 4g or whatever it's called, doesn't have that. major no for me. on the brightside it does have video calling, but personally don't know a lot of people i could do that with so not needed for me.

How much do you wanna bet, a few months past the release date, there will be a post just like this in the 4G section sayin "anyone ditching their MyTouch 4G for the MyTouch incredibly awesome and extreme?". Lol I'm just saying. With the way t-mobile has been pushing out MyTouch phones quicker than mexican mothers push out babies (I'm mexican not racist) the 4G will probably fade just a quick as the slide.

Yeah I agree, there's always a better phone on the horizon so you're better off picking one you like and sticking with it.
Something to keep in mind for those of you who are unhappy with the Slide, S-OFF is coming soon and once we have that we will be able to do more things to the device.

Your right about there is always a "better" phone coming, but I think the G2 and the new MyTouch will be pushed for the next year. The Slide just came out at a crappy time and got no love from T-Mo, hell you can't weven get a decent case for it.
And no I'm not switching for two reasons, no keyboard means no go and my wife would kick my a** if I got another phone this soon.

haha, i think that is the best reason, seeing as i am in the same boat. when i got this phone she told me "You better be happy with this phone. I don't wanna hear you b!tch later on when a new phone comes out."

i really wanna keep my slide and push it like i did with the g1

I have to say, i just looked and some of the reviews of the 4G, and i am not impressed. 4G is a no go for me.
I might wait it out for a dual-core phone of the 1.5ghz cpus. The 4G is okay, but doesnt improve on the slide that much or even the ui.
Just notice in my area my phone turn 4G so I'm walking into a store (Costco) and as soon as I walk in the 4G turns into 3G. Latter I'm purposely going in another store about a mile down and same thing happens upon entering the store 4G disappears and 3G shows on my phone.
In both cases after exiting the stores the 4G appears again. My understanding was that 4G has deep penetration through buildings and this raise my confidence how this gonna work after all.

The 3G and 4G (LTE) are on the same 1900 band. So where you get 3G, you will have 4G. But as they only have so many towers with 4G right now, your probably not hitting the same tower as the 3G. As soon as they get it all installed, you won't have an issue. Even less when they bring on the 800.

Sprints 4G lte is on 1900mhz frequency not much different than Sprint wimax which was on 2500mhz. The higher the frequency the worse the building penetration gets.
Verizon lte is on 800 or 700mhz.... They get better building penetration.... Hopefully Sprint will use their iden network for 4G which is on 800mhz I think..... But I don't think that is their plan.

1900 is a lot better than the 2500 from Clear, Sprint has a lot more towers to makeup for it. 2014 is when they start the 800 Lte. Oh, and on the same towers. All part of the same Network Vision updates. They just have to finish iden first. 2500, 1900, 800 in one tower.

yeah, southern queens/nassau border has some, and northern manhatten. i guess they are expanding now. i don't know if i'm going to live long enough to see 4g in my area (north shore li), but whatever. lol.. my girlfriend lives in forrest hills, the only time i used wimax was at her place.
4g in ny has been locked twice I think
