I installed the iMochiva video chat application in my phone and a friend's computer. It is using my back camera and not my front facing one and I don't see an option anywhere to switch... does anyone know how to do this?
Also, I read somewhere that Qik has a desktop application. Does this allow us Evo usersto video chat with those on their computers if they install that app?

you downloaded the wrong app... you need to download the imovicha for evo, its specifically made for our front facing camera. it even says so in the comments, faq. read before posting.

Has anyone figured out how to open a fax.tif on an android phone. I was hoping that 2.2 would finally allow me to look at my faxes from my fax server but alas i can not. I have searched hi and lo for a 3rd party app to allow but have had no luck on this front either.

mentions sending it to your gmail and using the built in preview with image viewer or astro, but it wont work without gmail-preview first.

Its in testing right now. Just look for qik in touch beta.
are you aware of any other apps that use Skype? Not many people use Qik, but Skype is pretty big...

I've never tried uploading a video with my EVO, but I've done it using my old Touch Pro, I just uploaded the video like it was a photo, the application didn't say it was for a video, just uploaded it as if I was doing a photo.

Qik works for me. Only problem is you cannot attach a comment with it. It always titles the post something like check out this video. Other than that works fine. You have to upload the video first, then click the Facebook button to share it to Facebook.

qik has the facebook option greyed out. you could upload them to youtube and share them from there

I have noticed that right after shooting a video, the phone proceeds to upload it to my google account i believe, yet i dont know where. If i go on my pc i could see the vid being uploaded in my google toolbar yet i couldnt find it in my google+ page. But anyways, how do i stop the phone from doing that?

Challenges to beat
1. snap picture of yourself, tag it, and post it facebook
I know HTC can do this from what I remember. But touchwiz don't have this built in. The facebook app and friendcaster does not have an immediate way to tag the picture when posting. Are there any other apps?
2. movie showtimes at the nearest theater
best one i found so far is cinemadroid, but does not get the showtimes of every city and also have a trial period where I have to wipe data or purchase the full one

4) use an app called andmadeshare share to multiple things at once. This app also applies for number 6
5 I believe Google goggles does this. Not to sure on it.

lol, I totally would, but they might say I'm using a custom rom or something, it is against the rule to use any modified OS.. so i just use Antilocker

not sure how to actually use that app to share besides maybe photos.
tweetdeck actually does it pretty well for #4. But how do you use it to send a message to a particular person via both sms and facebook message or post.
gonna look at google goggles right now
edit: google goggles actually works pretty well. there are two challenges, one is to translate something to english and to translate english to something else.
Just takes awhile scanning the image though.

its against the rules to use a custom rom? android would be so awful if we couldnt improve on the garbage the carriers push out.

lol yeah its really YMMV, some people check, some people don't. But our stock is actually pretty good compared to many other androids so it can perform pretty well.
Anyways if anybody is interested, who is still eligible to challenge.
I gotta a couple more apps we can use, but since nobody is really contributing... jordan and killbynature, if you guys are still eligible to do the challenge pm me.
BTW we're gonna lose the translation challenge, i think only iphone users can compete against them in that category.
can you elaborate on number 3 and 6? i dont think i understand what needs to be done
btw testing my atrix against youtube videos i was able to defeat the post to twitter and facebook at same time (using social status stock atrix widget )
beat them on music using SOUNDHOUND
take photo and share inmediatly using stock camera app.
also it has the option to disable the screen lock on the stock rom
Maybe you can use some of those apps in yours.
