Is there any way at all to connect the xperia play to a hd TV? (hdmi)? Without adding your own port in. Could you use an app to stream the play screen to another Android device which has hdmi and go from there?
Thanks

Not even with the streaming idea mentioned above?

That streaming app can only be used for music and pics doestn have the power for video plus theres no real way to do it our device isnt powerful enough the xbound might work because its a gpu on a hdmi connection which you send data to and it does all the work. We are still waiting for the release.

I've searched for an answer but the only ones I find are for being rooted and I'm scared to death of bricking my a100... is there any other way of getting the apps that are on the playstore that show as incompatible without doing the root build prop thingy? For example I can get MLB at bat on my wife's kindle fire... back it up and send it to my Acer and it works just fine even though it supposedly isn't compatible. Thing is the selection of apps on kindle fire is ten times ****tier than the a100. Even if its an outside website or some unrooted method I haven't came across any suggestions will be appreciated ty

As long as its a free app, Download the apk from somewhere else and install on tablet. There are other app stores other than the Play store. GetJar is the only one I can think off right now. MLB at bat shows as compatible with my device in the Play store.

You could always try to 'push' the file using ADB, no root needed for that.
Hmm when I look in the play store I can only find MLB at the park, I'll check out that site ty

This is borderline warez discussions so tread lightly. However as long as it is a free version of an app there's other places to go and get the apk. I'll not mention them here since it can be shady.

Yes your right, MLB at Bat doesn't show up, my eyes seen MLB at and thought it was what you were looking for. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

So my basic problem is that I have a lot of media on my home desktop. It's a home built machine that has no sounds and runs windows xp
I have no problem streaming video over wifi. Everything works absolutely fine that way.
What I want to know is how to open media that's on my computer from a remote location (using a separate wifi network)
I'm currently using team viewer for remote access and it works for many things but it doesn't allow me to stream video to my phone. It allows me to play video on my computer and to view it but this is useless without sound
I'm considering trying to make a vpn but I'm not very computer literate.
Any suggestions?

No such thing has been done yet to my understanding, you can only stream over a WI-FI network so far

I think I might have found a solution and I feel sort of like an idiot. I'll test it out tonight and see if it works.

splashtop remote transmits sound
I'm trying the emit app it seems to work but I'll have to try it at work. As I said I feel dumb finding this a few hours after posting
I do seem to experience a lot of lag on videos so I guess that's my next problem to fix.

Emit works fine over the net (both on my own wifi and using my cell phones Ltd or other computers on different networks)
However lag when using it over cell broadcast is pretty bad and I'm trying to find a way to improve it

Hey! Wondering if you guys could help me out, I have an old HTC incredible s that I want to leave plugged into my stereo and stream music from my gs3 to it, preferably over blue tooth since I never use wifi. Is there any way to set this up?

I can't remember the name of the app, but there is a program that allows 2 mobile devices (tablets and/or smartphones) to connect this way. The app for the host device is a paid app but each addon device utilizes a free controller app. In this instance, your HTC would use the paid host app to be used with a stereo, TV, computer, etc and your s3 (and any other phones/tablets) would use the free remote control app. I'll see if I can find it again
