According to BatteryLife... my first G2 would hover around 78 degrees Fahrenheit, and webbrowsing and things like that would bring it up to 88 degrees... When I got my replacement and got a gel case to go along with it.. the battery was above 90 degrees and passed 100 during a phone call... I thought it was the case (might have been), since it's been off, the temperature stays around 85 degrees... is this normal? I'm planning on taking the case back and exchanging for a regular leather holster

As most of us will have noticed, removing the battery cover is kind of scary and I was wondering if there were any experts on the subject that could enlighten us on whether or not the cover pins will break off in the long run.
For all we know it could be designed to be pretty solid even though it feels frail.
Had the phone for about 3 months along with 2 batteries. This led me to change battery at least once every two day which would equate to 45 openings. But I've changed rom and pulled the battery so many times that I'm sure I've opened the phone at least 100 times, probably 150, or even 200.
I've also never be too careful with the phone and its cover.
At this moment the cover seems to hold very well. The only apparent defect is that, while on, if you push quite hard the right part of the cover, in the middle part, it creaks a bit. I'm actually surprised it hasn't broke already, but I'm ready to shell 20€ to replace it if in some months it will make horrible sounds, given the ridicuolous frequency at which I pull it.
Yup as the title states last night I had my phone on charge while I was using it laying down in bed then fell asleep. This morning I found it halfway under my pillow, so while checking the time I noticed some sticky residue on my screen protector ( by the way I have a black tpu case on it also because I have a hyperion extended battery) anyways, I wiped it off and got ready for work. When I arrived to my desk at work. I saw more of that brownish gooey stuff on the screen. So when I removed the tpu case and phone cover assuming it was possibly battery acid leaking from the battery. It was all over the inside of the case but not a drop inside the phone where battery is, and battery was fine. I was stumped... so I applied a little bit of pressure to the screen and low and behold the gooey stuff started seeping out the side of the glass. Im guessing its the glue that holds the screen or digitizer in place so cleaned it off thoroughly. Removed battery, sim and sdcard and place phone in the fridge for about 30 min to harden back the glue now its good as new. The irony is my 30 day warranty ended friday. Seems like being partly under the pillow while charging generated a lot of heat, causing the glue to melt. Just thought id share.

Suddenly I have visions of waking up with my S3 glued to my face....
Thanks for the heads up!
Call samsung and you can probably get a replacement since it's defective from manufacturer.

I notice that too I went to bed once and i had my phone charging next to me in bed and when i woke up it was extremely hot didnt melt the glue but was super hot My 4s had that issue too so its not the phones fault just that charging creates alot of heat

My girlfriend owns this phone, and put it on her dresser overnight. In the morning she found it in the exact same position, but there was a crack going horizontal along the screen, causing the bottom half to not work.
How does a phone crack like that overnight without being touched?
She claims that when using this phone that it often gets extremely hot to the touch when plugged in. Maybe that has something to do with it?
I've read that it is some kind of defect caused by heating and cooling cycles. or it could be that the battery itself puffed up and cracked your screen.
This Gorrila Glass fibre has these dealbreaker issues, it mostly happens due to the following reason : Upon gaming and/or charging, the upper half may get extremely hot and the lower half remains normal and takes relatively more time compared to the upper half to change its temperature. This regional temperature difference when sufficiently high causes tension and it gets cracked. DO NOT keep the phone at cool surface when it gets hot, heat is NOT the culprit, but the temperature difference is. You may keep it on soft cloth or a relatively warm place in future.
Often when I'm using my phone, the top half of it (near the camera) gets almost painful to hold due to the heat it's putting out. My phone has bootlooped before and got sent to LG to repair, but I'm still worried. I took the below screenshot of CPU-Z showing temps. These were after ~15 minutes of playing Clash Royale, with no case on, with the screen at 80% brightness.

As you can see, multiple sensors are reading over 70c - and believe me, it feels like it too. The only thing I have on it is a tempered glass screen protector, but this has also been an issue when it's just a plastic one.
Hi guys,
I have got a fold 3 but when I open it up it seems to be at about 175 degree rather than 180. If I look down the line along the top of the phone when open with one eye I can see it slightly bend off. Should the device open completely straight?
If I look at the back of the device when it's open, I can just see some of the samsung logo on the hinge, like a fingernail gap. Should the two edges of the phone be touching each other when open.
I will try add photos later.
^ Agree - mine does not sit perfectly flat on a desk either. There is always the slightest wobble. If you press down, it will go flat but then the small gap returns.
Yeah, I would worry about that as mine opens flat, you cannot see the Samsung Logo at all.
Yeah, it wobbles a little when open and laying flat because of the camera bump. That's normal. It should be open a full 180 degrees. Unless there is something wrong with mine. LOL!
Like @Talderon said, it should sit flat. When mine is unfolded I cannot see the hinge and the two edges touch.
HOWEVER... When I took it out of the box it was not like that! Like you said, mine didn't quite fold open to 180 degrees. Mine opened to about 178.5 degrees. Just not quite flat unfolded. I think the hinge may need a break in period, IDK?
But I did notice the same thing you did and when I went to check again, I noted it was reaching 180 degrees now. After two months of use is seemingly more fluid than when I originally folded it so I think the break in period is real thing with this hinge.
Mine stopped opening fully and I logged this with Samsung UK through the customer service app. I had to send them some photos and they arranged for an engineer to come round and do a home repair. He ended up changing the inner screen, outer screen and batteries, under warranty. He said he basically just put my Fold's motherboard in a new chassis.
Took him about an hour and it now folds completely flat, is stiffer and opens with a small snap as it becomes flat. Way different to the way it was before he changed everything over. The inner screen crease is also a lot less noticeable now than it was.
