animated and weather wallpapers

I just replaced my dutty Leo R2 with Dutty's Leo R4 rom
under the settings - personalize - home wallpaper there are weather, animated and still wallpaper options....
i understand the still wallpaper but can't get the weather and animated wallpapers to work...
can somebody tell me which kind of files i should use so they would work? avi, pmeg-4 or something else?
does anybody has an example of those wallpaper that they could upload?
also, i'm using Max TF3D v.2.5 All in One Layout 1.4c... is it possible that because of that i can use them?

The weather wallpaper just allows for the animated weather display, based on your home weather conditions. With maxycy 1.4c installed you can get the weather animation with the still wallpaper (and it disables the weather wallpaper). (I'm not sure what the animated wallpaper does as i haven't tried this.)

for animated wallpapers were used .gif files , i think...
i can also flash duttys leo r5, wich has build-in animated wallpapers...

It actually is neither a .swf nor is it a .gif. It is a scripted manila file.

do you know which manila file it is? also can it be edited when you say scripted manila file? is there any editor we can use to edit it this and make our own animated manila files? that would be cool!

Been looking fo this for almost a month and couldnt find any solution, perhaps it is just like what was said, somethign related to manila itself not a gif or swf !

I'm facing this problem sence the rom was flashed , and while serving forums i found a topaz cab that allow me enable or disable the weather animation, but my problem that i have no weather wallpaper or weather animation or any thing ? all what i ahve is a weather DEMO ? any help?

[QUE] Home tab weather animations problem

Hi all
I got a qeustion about the weather animation on the home tab.
Sometimes it displays the full weather animations over the full homescreen like clouds all over the screen , or the nice screen wiper or rain drops all over the screen
That's normal on the weather tab but I sometimes have it on the homescreen...
Does any one know how I can disable the full effects on the homescreen?
I have win 6.5.1 and manila 2.5 19202525

Im using NRG rom with Manila 2.1 Sense and is the same sometimes i have full animation on the home...
Honestly sometime i hate it when i have drops rain all over the home screen.
I think its not posible we to remove this maybe you need to flash a new ROM without Weather on Home screen
If anyone can tell us how we can just remove the animation will be perfect

WOOOOOOT How can you hate it? its the best part of manilla its the main reason for using sence 2.1/2.5

Yes men its cool i like it when have cloud or Sun and etc but when have rain drops.. i don`t like it because i even cant see my home wallpaper i need to wait to come the cleaner to remove the drops and then all is fine

This is not true
We talk here not about animation of the wallpaper we speak about animation of the weather in the home screen, so no matter what kind of wallpaper you use always in the home screen you have animation of the weather, depends what is the weather in your area.

Already tried that but that doesnt work the animations still show up
Any one got an idea ?

Simple solution found:
On home screen press menu -> background for homescreen -> animated background -> select a none animated wallpaper
Also did the same for the background for weather
Made the weather animations go away for now I guess

You are talking about your ROM im with Manila 2.1 Sense and on my Home screen i dont have Menu Button befor when i use Manila 2.5 i had this menu but now i use diferent ROM
Also i don`t think this will solve the problem and you will have animation back

Than you can still do the same as I did
Go check your preferences tab of manila( last one I figure) and click on the change background of hometab and etc

NO im using diferent ROM i know what u mean but in my ROM i don`t have Options to CHoice Animated Wallpaper or Not Animated
Im using NRG WM 6.5 with Sense Manila 2.1 from 17 Octomber
Also i only can choice a Picture Wallpaper so im with default Picture wallpaper and i have animation of the weather all the time... the Animation didn`t come from the wallpaper the animation come from the Manila Weather witch is coocked in the ROM

HTC HD MIRI V 13.0 No weather wallpapaer animation at all even demo is their nay suggestions?

I also dont have animated homescreen on miri V13... how to enable???

there's a duttys cab to enable / disable my location from weather tab, it works well for me, you may try it, check on forums (duttysdisablemylocation.cab)

to disable: choose a non-hd wallpaper as previously mentioned ... simply go to settings tf3d tab -> Wallpaper -> Choose any wallpaper (and say no to Default wallpaper, which is the black screen with light).
to enable: use an hd wallpaper (use a HDWallpaper cab).

Got that to work, but how can you make HDWallpaper from regular JPGs and get that animation?
Also, why does the animation work when ever? There appears to be no rhime or reason when the anitmation kicks off.

From the home screen go to settings, weather wallpaper to get the animated weather. To turn it off go to setting, animated wallpaper, and pick a photo. Its not totally random. It shows when you leave the home screen and come back from another screen.

Can't turn off HTC weather animations

I've moved to BW since its compatible with ADW launcher and has similar animations, but the HTC cloudy weather animation continually flashes across my screen upon unlocking and startup.
I've tried going back to the stock Sense launcher and unchecking fullscreen animations (multiple tomes) but to no effect. Anybody have a fix for this??

It may not be the HTC animation, but rather a third party app. Are you using Widgetlocker as your lockscreen? If so, it too has a weather animation that, unless something recently changed, is enabled by default.

Uncheck "unlock animations" in the advanced section of the BW settings, if you haven't already.

remove the htc clock from your homescreen and readd it....there will be a an option to enable/disable full screen animation

he said he went back to stock sense...maybe doing what i said will disable it then he can switch back... just a thought

@najaboy: I'm running with the skyraider rotary unlock lockscreen so I don't think that's it
@G00S3Y: I actually don't mind the BW animations, its the fact that the stock HTC cloudy animation always runs just before the BW one. It makes it weird when the BW animation is "clear" but the HTC one is clouds, but I'll give it a shot

That's exactly what I tried. I unistalled ADW and returned to the stock Sense launcher. I removed the widget, readded it, and unchecked the animation box. Reinstalled ADW and it was still there, "cloudy" animation only.
I even tried just removing the widget completely and STILL got clouds... :/

Backup your homescreen settings for Sense, pretty sure Titanium Backup does this...but I use mybackup pro. once you have it backed up, goto setting>applications>manage applications>all> then click HTC Sense and clear out the cache etc. then switch back.
just throwing ideas out there to hopefully get you all fixed up. let me know your results

Just tried your fix and was optimistic. Went to every HTC weather app in the app manager and cleared cache when able, then toggled force stop. Go back to the homescreen and... clouds.
I did find two interesting things though. While exploring the HTC weather apps I came across one that said widget settings that I couldn't change at all. Also, in an attempt just to do something different, I enabled the animations in the widget. Instead of replacing the cloudy animation, it STILL ran first, then the current weather animation showed.
I'm getting my ass kicked by this one... I'll see if I can post a screenshot of the unchangeable widget screen

that sucks. i like the adventure, i would back up my data etc and reinstlal the rom and go from there. but this is an odd bug of sorts.

It really is... I think ill just wait until gingerbread comes out and hopefully it might fix itself. I really just don't feel like doing a wipe and reflashing for an issue as small as this one :/

Widgetlocker
This has been annoying me for weeks, and couldn't find an answer anywhere. I had disabled the animations in the Sense clock, but it was still running animations over my home screen. But someone above had the answer that finally solved it for me. It was Widgetlocker, which has it's own button for turning on and off the Sense weather animations. Problem solved!

I would like to know about this as well!
I don't like the delay between unlocking my phone and being able to use it (the weather animation runs and I either have to wait for it or click the screen).
Appreciate anyone's input...

This is my second Android app. I develop this little app because I prefer 3rd party launcher (e.g. Apex) than existing Sense 4 Rosie. Existing hacked Sense 4 Rosie (full version) currently doesn't support non Sense widget correctly and is less feature-rich than many other launchers.
Even if you install a 3rd party launcher, Rosie still consume your precious memory as a system service. But if you freeze Rosie and thus release it from memory, you'll lose your lockscreen app shortcuts. After painstakingly reviewing the codes in HTC shortcut components, I found that Rosie actually act as a content provider to supply information of its launcher bar shortcuts to lockscreen. So without Rosie, lockscreen has no information to construct its shortcuts. Therefore I wrote this little app to replace the role of Rosie as the content provider. What's more, it allows you to select your own apps with a simple config screen and store the data separately. And it doesn't stay in the memory permanently.
Installation instructions:
Uninstall Rosie (Freezing doesn't work because Android doesn't allow two content providers of same type) ** You're reminded to make a backup first **
Install HTC Lockscreen Shortcut Provider
Run Lockscreen Shortcuts
Select your app for the 4 shortcuts
Hit back to save settings and notify HTC lockscreen

Today I did some testing on various Sense versions and would like to let you know my findings:
Hybrid 4A (e.g. UKB X on IncS) - OK
Sense 4.1 (e.g. ViperX on One X) - OK
Sense 4A (e.g. UKB V on IncS) - No shortcuts in lockscreen
Sense 3.6 (e.g. ARHD on IncS) - Lockscreen shortcuts appears and update correctly but shortcut app cannot be launched when unlock
At this moment, my first priority is to support Sense 3.6. After that I'll work on 4A.

Just posted 1.2. Now supports Sense 3.6.

What ROM are you using? What Sense version is it? Sense 4 can already do that.

I see. But sorry that changing the lockscreen wallpaper is not what this app can do. Probably that requires modding the lockscreen itself.

how does one uninstall Rosie?

I've just flashed Android Revolution HD 9.0 (Gingerbread 2.3.5, Sense 3.0) and I am not able to add or remove home screens.
I have the default 7 screens, but I need only 5 or less. Normally a trash icon should appear on the homescreen settings page but there is no such icon.
I can only rearrange the screens and that's all.
Anyone knows a way?

Maybe you need to search your phone for it. It's there...
Just check setting and soon you'll apoligise for making this post. :cyclops:

That adjustment settings you should look at launcher. Each rom and launcher have a different way of change, in some it is as you say. The new must read and use the search before opening a new tread.
