Reddish tint? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Coming from a N1 I realize it's probably because of the switch from amoled to s-tft... But is it just me or does the display on the G2 have a reddish tint? It just doesn't seem crisp to me!

Green tinted screen?

I'm looking forward to the G4 a lot, so I've been trying to see as much about it as I can, and it seems like sometimes it has a very strong green tint to the screen.

0:00 - Look at the color of the google search bar on the G4 and the S6 (not the M9 because it's not trying to be white).
https://youtu.be/AADWxIXdimY?t=17
0:17 - This one doesn't appear to have the green tint, but it is phonearena and the video is low quality, plus their review said it had a very cold colored display, which would fit with the green tint.

1:55 - Again the google search bar on the G4, and the white parts of certain app icons on the iPhone. This one also doesn't seem to have the green tint.
https://youtu.be/c2Znb6i07xg?t=112
1:52 - Also missing the green tint, and I think I've noticed that when the lights are brighter, the green tint isn't there.

0:26 - Missing again.
I'm not sure what to believe. Could these be issues with certain versions LG (or T-Mobile) have been sending out to people? Are these just a couple lemons? Could something else be to blame?
G3 had yellow tint, hope this is NOT true!

Yellow tint? Compared to a Moto G 2014, my G3 has a blueish tint on the screen. I just think that LG G3's screen has quite a precise white balance level.

I agree, I find the G3 to have correct white balance. The issue is the screen is really dull, very low saturation and contrast, and the annoying oversharpening problem.

Note 7 AMOLED Screen Green Tint

First time user of AMOLED screen and I can't help but notice a significant green hue shift when viewing the screen at an angle. Is this normal with AMOLED displays?
I'm coming from using an IPS screen and I've heard so many praises for the screen on the note 7 that it seemed strange that the viewing angles had this huge hue shift. Reds become orange even at a 15° angle
Looks like this is more common issue among Samsung phones as of lately.
Just switched to a NOTE 4 from a G3 with a perfect screen.
This screen tint issue even on the slightest angle is kind of annoying.
Also saw my wife's friend's S7 a few min ago...she has the same problem with her phone as well.
I guess this is considered normal.
How does my G3 have better viewing angles vs the Note 4?!
That was the first impression of this phone

Depending on the screen they use, it could have a green or pink hue when looking at it at an angle. This has been the case with Samsung since s3. I used to be that picky and would return it just to end up with either the same or one with pinkish hue. After note 4 I just accepted it.

I see, I guess I'll have to just get used to it. It's even more drastic when I use the blue light filter, my whites change from 3000k to 5000k at the slightest of angles LOL
I'm surprised that people don't mention it in their reviews if it's a prevalent thing with AMOLED displays.
Its a common 'issue' amongs OLED panels but you can compare maybe 3-5 of the same phone and have a different hue at the same angle.

How much of graininess and blue-tint does your Pixel 2 xl display have?

I got a brand new Pixel 2 xl today manufactured in April 2018.
My observations about the display
It definitely have some mild graininess on pure white color. You can observe it if you take it close to your eyes. I used the Display Tester app to get white background and test this.
There is a very mild blue tint when looked at off axis.
The white doesn't really appear pure white when compared to Oneplus 6T display.
I compared this with my friend's Oneplus 6T displays and 6T didn't have any of these issues.
My question is, does everyone have graininess and blue tint issues to a minor extent? Has anyone got a pixel 2 xl display without any issues?
Could you post your photos of display on a white background?
Should I return my phone and try my luck again?
I've got a barely visible blue tint off axis, but my display is soooo grainy. I've never had a display this grainy. Can't post photos. I don't think you should return it because there is always the chance of it becoming worse, and blue tint is just an oled thing.

[A50] How is your screen uniformity with white/grey backgrounds?

Browsing/reading forums/pages with white/grey backgrounds i notice some mild pink clouding in particular area's of the screen.
Are a lot of A50 screens affected by this or do you have a perfect display?
Thankfully I haven't noticed anything off about the screen so far. Blacks are good as expected of amoled screens and theres no discoloration on the whites or any hues. How long have you had your phone for and did you check if the blue light filter is enabled on your phone? I know the blue light filter makes the screen have some reddish pinkish tone.
Send the first A50 back, couldn't live with the uneven pink hue. Received a new one today which is flawless! Very happy with a win in the amoled lottery.

if you're using the S7 vs the S7+ then it's not surprising, LCDs do not produce blacks like AMOLED.
Superb screen display on Tab S7 using since 2 Months. i have no issues of colors nor any degradation of screen. Being an Amoled fan . I love the perfect blacks on my Old Tab S5E although more.
lot of negative Paid marketing is done against top companies before launch of a flagship device by Rival companies
So I noticed this same green tint issue. Great on the left side and it fades into a greenish tint. I assumed it was the screen but I was playing around with it and it doesn't seem to consistently appear. If I load up the play store, at lower brightness, I see it. When I open the settings menu for the tablet, same grey background and the greenish tint isn't there. The brightness hasn't changed either. I started looking at other grey screens and I see the same thing. I'm not saying it's not an issue but I would think it would be fairly consistent across grey backgrounds at the same brightness. I see it in dark mode in Google apps but not is Samsung apps or even Nova launcher settings. Weird..
I greys are a slightly different shade but the same brightness. The playstore you can see on the right side. Nova settings and one of my live wallpapers settings are both grey and no greenish tint.
Anyone else notice this?

Also, enabling the "blue light filter" severely degrades the black level. I understand it's useful for those who experience eyestrain reading white text on a perfectly black background, hopefully either Samsung or a community member can change it for those who prefer the best blacks while still attenuating the blue colors.
Hello!
I got mine a few days ago and first thing I noticed was a color tint on grey goint to green or yellow, especially on the lower brightness levels. Especially compared with my older Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) also black ist something like anthracite, but not deep black.
So I downloaded a display test app from Playstore Display Tester, and guess what! Black is really dark black, white is bright white and grey is looking much better with almost no color tint.
Could soomebody else check it?
Btw.: Firmware is T870XXU2BUD2 (Android 11).
