I cannot get WiFi to send or receive any data at all after getting the 2.2 OTA update.
The WiFi connects successfully to my router, I see it listed in the my router admin page, but it cannot pull or send any data.
I am also having a problem streaming bluetooth audio. I cannot stream any audio to my car stereo. The strange thing is that bluetooth handsfree works fine. Meaning I can make and receive calls, but streaming music does not work.
Everything was working fine before this update. It looks like something is blocking the phone from sending data wirelessly. I have tried everything I can think of.
BTW, search was unavailable when I was making this post.
are you rooted? If not..i would just go ahead and take it in the store since you have the OTA. You cant really do much troubleshooting/fixing with no permissions.

Anyone else having bluetooth problems or is this operator error?
I can switch bluetooth on, make my handset visible, pair with other devices and receive files from other handsets, however when I try to send anything, I can't connect to paired devices and bluetooth hangs meaning I have to switch my handset off and on.
I was using bluetooh last night and all was ok
but unlike my last phone c902 the bluetooth is on a timer then turns off visibility
Working fine for me. Paired up my bluetooth headset and will still be working hours later even if I haven't interacted between them.
It's strange, devices show as paired but not connected and I can't make them connect.
Have been able to use BT for file transfer between my Desire and laptop and HD2. Also connected to my Plantronics BT headset. I think you need to have an appropriate BT driver for some devices like BT keyboards.
I too am having minor issues.
The wife's hands free kit (Parrot CK3000 evo) in the car supports voice dialling by sending contacts to it and then recording a tag which is associated with the contact. This way the kit can do the voice dialling for handsets that don't support it.
For some reason the Desire refuses to send contacts to the hands free kit claiming it doesn't support the correct bluetooth profiles. This obviously isn't the case as all the other phones we have tried work perfectly with the CK3000.
Only a minor issue, as in my car which has the CK3300 everything works fine (including syncing the phonebook to the car kit). It's more of a problem for the wife though, as she wants to upgrade to the Desire on Saturday when her contract is up for renewal but at the minute won't be able to voice dial from the car.
Dae.
Strange. I'll try connceting to my laptop later.
I too am having difficulty sending files over bluetooth. I can accept files fine, from any source, yet cannot send from my HTC Desire. First the notification says complete, but 0 files sent. Then going inside it shows it has failed. And then clicking it and retrying shows Unknown file. What's going on??
Tried sending to two mobile phones, and a Windows 7 laptop. Easily works the other way around. Also, sometimes I can't turn my bluetooth off properly, it just crashes the chip while turning off and can't turn it on or off until I reboot. Thought it might be Advanced Task Killer, but tried the same thing immediately after a reboot and still can't send files. Any ideas?
still no closer to solving this, I think it may be going back tomorrow.
I'm also having problems...
I have the Parrot CK3200 LS-COLOR and it connects to the phone ok, or vice versa and then it always falls over when trying to sync the contacts... It shows my facebook profile pic and then it fails.
If I dial a contact through the phone, or receive a call, it comes out fine through the speakers.
So I'm wondering if it's something to do with the way the the desire handles contacts.
Sorry if there's been a resolution to this, I did search first
me to also having the same problems. spent 4 hours on google last night and still no closer.
Weird as it might sound, I had no issues connectiong to car stereo. But when I tried to pair it with friends mobile, SonyEricsson c902 - it crashed!
I was trying to send a picture file I have downloaded using bluetooth.
Also, can anyone tell me how to send a mp3 file I have downloaded off the internet to another mobile using bluetooth?
Thanks
Have you enabled FTP under Bluetooth advanced settings? I have no problem transfering files to and from PC or other mobile phone. Also make sure the device is dicroverable and paired.
I had a similar problem which I wrote to HTC about: I paired and connected the Desire with my bluetooth car head unit and it works fine for phone & audio, but it will not auto connect each time I get in the car and I have to go through the pairing process and enter a code each time. Voice dialling also doesn't work. My previous handset (Touch HD) connected automatically if the bluetooth was on so I don't think it's a problem with the head unit. Someone suggested it might be due to an old bluetooth protocol on the head unit (I'd like to avoid having to replace it if possible).
i managed to send a file to another htc desire today, last time i tried, i admit i didn't enable the ftp service, however I could not send via bluetooth to a nokia n96 but to be fair, my desire probably just didn't want anything to do with it . but on a serious note I cant seem to get it to send to my windows 7 x64 disto.

take that back .. apart from the N96 joke.. reason windows was not accepting was because avast anti virus was blocking it.

After searching this forum there is no thread on Bluetooth issues connectivity.
For a wile now i been searching the net and different sites for a fix between my phone and my car bluetooth. Before the epic i had a windows phone and the connectivity was fine including all the phonebook would load up and everything the system was build to do. With Android Epic i been having issues. Sometimes I cant connect to the car and other I am able to connect but phonebook wont load.
With all the Geniuses in the website i am sure someone can come up with a fix.
I figured i open this thread hoping we can find a final fix to retire this problem.
If it helps I am running the latest Viper Rom with Genocide kernel at 1.2ghz
However the rom did not change the statues of my issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
I also have connectivity issues with bluetooth, in my case the car has A2DP allowing for music to be played over the car's stereo. It cuts out so much that it is completely useless for music. I mostly listen to podcasts but Pandora would be nice. However it cuts out so much that it isn't worth it. So if anyone does have a solution. To me though I've tried so many kernels, and roms to no avail that I'm pretty sure taht the software Samsung has shipped has faulty drivers. By the way it also seems that the cut outs occur when switching towers, however I could be wrong.
I use this in my car: http://us.kensington.com/html/14484.html
It may cut out every 45 seconds or so but it's the only thing I've used. Got it on sale for $20.
I've got a pair of a2dp bluetooth headphones that I use to listen to podcasts via my Epic. I've had zero problems with those (using DK28 atm, for the record). So I don't think there's a hardware problem with the Epic's bluetooth.
If we're going to get some troubleshooting done, we should get a bunch of details from everyone. Like exactly what bluetooth hardware they're using, and what roms they're running.

Does everything cut out, or just Pandora? If it's just Pandora and other apps that need data connection, it might not be a bluetooth problem as much as a data connection problem.
I would suggest testing it by trying the car bluetooth with something that requires no data connection at all, like pre-downloaded podcasts.
I am talking about connectivity issues with in stock car bluetooths.
this problem is big many people been having this issue and there is a list of stock bluetooth cars that android wont pair with. I had the touch pro 2 for sprint with windows system and it worked fine in my car bought the epic and there we go. Now looks kind of bad that i would need to get an aftermarket piece to listen to bluetooth calls and load up the phonebook from android to my car.
Windows got it right even though i would never go back to a windows phone so i know there is something that android messed up here
Below i will put some links to show you how there is A LOT of people that been having this issue.

I have a 2006 Dodge Durango. It has Bluetooth. My old phone, a Samsung flip phone would connect without issue. My new phone, a Samsung Captivate, will connect most of the time, but often times, once it connects, it drops the call.
I understand this is an Epic thread, but I thought I would add my input as I am having similar problems (and this came up on my search).
If I understand you correctly, you connect some of the time and sometimes not.
Regardless, if your phone is rooted you might wanna try this.
I had a lot of issues with my bluetooth after upgrading to froyo and tried a lot of fixes including wipe3x and odin to stock....this is the one that worked for me.

Ensure that you first
- delete the car from your phone,
- delete the phone from your car,
- disable bluetooth,
- delete the file,
- CHANGE YOUR BLUETOOTH DEVICE name,
- restart,
- reenable bluetooth
- re-pair your phone with the car.
I've had the GS4 for a few days now and so far it's been great, but...
I was watching some movie previews on the Play store while connected to WIFI and the video kept pausing/buffering. I have good 4g coverage so I tried it with that and it worked fine.
Now my WIFI is not blazing fast, but it should be able to handle this task. I decided to run a speed test, and with WIFI it's slow and stutters or just stops...sometimes I get a network communication error (SpeedTest app). If I use the cellular network instead, no problems.
I then tried turning off my Bluetooth headset and WIFI works fine! Bluetooth radio is still on, but not connected to anything. As soon as I connect my headset (and I tried two different ones), the WIFI problem starts again. I haven't taken any further steps other than removing and re-adding the WIFI connection profile.
Coming from an HTC Amaze and it's WIFI/Bluetooth issues, this is a little distressing. I hope this is just something with my phone software and maybe a factory reset will clear it up, or some other simple explanation. Could someone out there test this on their GS4 and let me know if they can reproduce this issue?
Thanks!
OK, so I did a factory reset and immediately noticed the same problem after connecting my Bluetooth headset. Streaming audio alone seems to be fine, but when video is playing and the audio is streaming to my headset I get a lot of buffering. I know there is another thread out there about WIFI being slow, but on my device it's fine unless I am using it as described above. Would someone else please check if their device behaves similarly?

WOW!..so I'm new to this forum and no one can give me the time of day????? I may be a new here, but I watched the noob video (funny by the way), searched the forums for similar reports of this issue, and I've tried to give as much detail as possible.
C'mon, someone out there take 5 minutes and try to stream a vid on WIFI while connected to a stereo Bluetooth headset....PLEEEAASEE???
Hi Everyone,
I just updated my HTC Once M7 to Lollipop... Seemed like an awesome idea, I just got a new car that was connecting seamlessly to my phone via bluetooth... Text to voice, Contact transfer from my phone to my car, stream music.. it was all great... until Lollipop -_- ... After I updated I noticed my car was no longer getting the text messages from my phone.... Then I also realized I wasn't able to transfer any contacts from my phone to my car. I tried to wipe the car clean and start fresh. Cleared the cache on the phone, removed the connections etc... Now I can pair my phone to my car, stream music but when I click "Update Contacts from Phone" on my car's stereo, the phone disconnects itself from the car's bluetooth. Not to mention when I try to do the same with the text messages it just times out. The phone did ask for permissions for the car's bluetooth to access these features so I dont understand why it's not working now! All these features were working perfectly fine a week ago with KitKat.... The phone is stock (sadly).
Fixed w/ Restore
I completely restored the phone and everything is back to normal. Something probably got messed up during the installation.
I have choppy/skippy bluetooth when I am connected to my WiFi. Can anyone suggest a fix?
I have checked with WiFi off and no skipping occurs then. It only occurs when i am connected to my home WiFi network.
I've noticed the skipping with bluetooth too. I've not tried it with wifi off until I saw your post, but you are right, the skipping is gone when wifi is off. Unfortunately listening to music via bluetooth is when I need my wifi the most. I hope this gets fixed, it's a bummer for me. I thought about returning the phone because of it. I've rooted, tried the kernels available and flashed back to stock but the stutter persisted. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.
It's just crappy implementation by Android. Stock Android has always had crappy BT
Same here, I also noticed that skipping stops while in the bluetooth settings.
I'm getting the same issue even after the December update.
Watching YouTube with Bluetooth and WiFi is an awful experience.
Thinking about returning it and seeing if the Oneplus 3T has the basics working.
