Running CM6, if I switch to forced roaming (Settings>Wireless & network settings>Mobile networks>Affiliated networks), I can only get 1X data. Is there a way to get 3G roaming, other than the "load a Verizon PRL" hack?

Hey,
I would like to disable all roaming (data and voice) on my rooted 4.0.1 GSM GNex running on Telus. I live close to the water, so the AT&T signal is often stronger than the Telus' own. Something like Roam Control would be perfect except that that app is only for CDMA.
Thanks and please help.
Anybody have any ideas?
Well data roaming can be disabled by going to Wireless & networks > Mobile networks and unchecking data roaming as for voice, I have no clue.
I was under the impression that this perl in conjunction w roam control would allow 3g roaming. I am in middle ga, and currently on this prl but it only goes 1x rtt. Does anyone know or recommend a prl that will allow me to roam at Verizon 3g speeds via roam control when I want to?
Problem solved. 01115 doesn't support 3g roaming in my area.
However...11115 does support 3g roaming
Very happy now
Is there a method to switch to 3G when I'm in certain area? My work has fairly weak LTE signal and my phone is constantly switching between 3G and LTE. I would like to set it so that when I'm at work, the phone will use 3G only and LTE everywhere else. I tried checking tasked but I just can't figure out how.
Thanks
Settings -> connections -> more networks >- mobile networks -> network mode... select what you want there.
Hey guys, Verizon HTC One running LiquidSmooth and Android 4.4.2, though that's not terribly pertinent. This issue was happening with AOKP, my previous rom.
I gotta doozy for ya: I don't have a signal. So I go into Settings-->More...-->Mobile Networks--> and I change the "Preferred network type" to CDMA+LTE/EVDO. I get a perfect signal (can send calls, texts, 4 bars) until I check "Data enabled" to enable mobile data. The signal then drops to zero bars and the "Preferred Network Type" resets itself to "GSM Only".
imgurcom/NWwOfit is what I see before choosing CDMA+LTE.EVDO
imgurcom/5zaY3XP is after I choose to allow mobile data
imgurcom/xZFoE8G is my APN's after it switches to GSM only
Strangely, the APN's are greyed-out when CDMA+LTE/EVDO is selected for preferred network type.
Being in a rural area, sometimes it is better to have full 4G data over one dwindling bar of LTE.
Under Settings > Mobile Data > Preferred Network > GSM/WCDMA/LTE, you may select "GSM/WCDMA auto" to keep the phone out of LTE, but it seems it for me that this kills data altogether- only voice connection remains.
Does anyone have a recommended way to achieve this properly?
