Hi. I have question. Is possible change place to installation apps when I have A2SD+? I must install install some apps in phone memory, because on SD isn't working. For example weather in beautiful widget.
Remove MicroSD... or connect Phone to computer... and then install beautiful widget...
Widgets do work with app2sd+, cause they think they are in the phone memory

APP2SD allows you to move certain apps to your SD card and run them from there BUT as these are placed on the normal root of the SD when you mount the SD, via USB for example, you loose access to these apps until you remount SD. This means you cant install widgets to the SD and such like.
APP2SD+ on the other hand uses an ext3 partition (or ext4 on newer versions) which then installs all apps & widgets to that partition and when the SD is mounted you dont lose any apps or widgets as is located in a seperate partition.
Hope that helps.

Better buy a new card for 20 bucks than buying another phone with a bigger internal memory

does that mean that if i use this, then i can play games like angry birds on gingerbread even if they're placed on the external memory?

Yes, the ext3 partition acts as part of the internal storage

My phone is debranded, rooted, has clockwork mod and the gold card. I have also flashed the phone with NexTSense 5.0 FroYo by NeoPhyTe.
Now, I went to applictaions, and tried to mave some apps to SD, however the button ("Move to SD") is grey and I am not able to mave any apps to SD.
I have been reading about partitions on SD, however I don't know if that is for moving apps to SD or some other function.
If anyone knows, could you please enlighten me please?
Also, if anyone know (I persume most of you do), what does Radio mean? I have searched "Radio on Android OS" however it seems to be and FM Radio, is that what it is supposed to be?!
Thank you for your time!
Hi !panda,
There's an app called app2sd on market. Also titanium backup. Your phone needs to be rooted I think. I've managed to move some hefty programs like earth to the SD with little if any gain in speed but at least some satisfaction. Good luck with that.

None of my apps will move to SD, same as you with the button being grey.

Also, Radio is sort of the image file for your phone wich handles the calls and data and such. some radios get better reception and make the phone run better overall.
For instance, my desire was getting trippy after i used a custom rom. I updated the radio and everythings fine now
You need to partition your SD card. Install rom manager from the market. You can use this to partition the card but it will wipe the card so backup the contents to your pc first. Partition with 512mb then 32mb swap. Copy your contents back to card. Then install either spare parts or modinstalllocation from the market, both allow you to choose where apps are installed and will open up apps2sd.

Hi,
I have rooted froyo 2.2 with App2Sd enabled and always move everything that possible to the Sd card. In spite of that, I have only 20Mb free space left (I use Android System info app). I have 8GB 6class samsung Sd card and did the partitions as said in guides.
how can I have more space to install more apps or I stuck and just have to decide what important and what not ?
Thanks.
what App2SD?
The native Froyo one or the App2SD+?
The native Froyo one does not move the whole app. Just take a look in the app listing and you'll see how much space it occupies on the internal RAM and how much it occupies on the SD card. You also can't move every app, e.g. no widgets.
The App2SD+ moves all apps to the SD-Card, including cache. But even then the more apps you install the less internal memory is available. That's because of a process I don't exactly remember Some apps unpack stuff which gets copied to the internal data partition, and I don't talk about the cache. Don't know for sure, but you should find it with the search.
When I check the app2sd ver. It doesn't shows the. + Symbol so I guess that it is a regular one. Can you give me a link to the plus version?

?? how shall you check the App2SD Version. You either use the + one, by using an EXT2/3 partition and a proper ROM and not moving the apps manually, it gets done automatically, or you use the Froyo one, by moving each app manually to the SD card in the app settings.
To get APPS2SD+ you need a properly set EXT2/3 partition and then flash a ROM supporting it (like Leedroid if you like a Sense ROM, or DeFrost, Opendesire if you like an AOSP ROM), that's it.
Hi guys. After rooting my phone and install leedroid's 2.2f i downloaded some widgets from the market, install them and everything worked perfect until i connected my device to the pc using usb drive to transfer some files. After that, widgets e.g. handcent sms unable to load. What might be the cause? If i install them again they will propably work. But i have to.do that each time i connect to the pc.
Phone: HTC Desire running leedroid.2.2f 4gb sd card with ext3 partition.

I think your sd-ext is mounted while you mount your sdcard (this should not be) maybe you have activated external install of apk and u use Froyoy App2SD AND Sdext?
Move the widgets to internal storage if yes this should solve the problem!
You might be correct. Should i uninstall apps 2 sd?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
No. That will make things worse.
Go to app settings and display all apps installed to sdcard then move them all to internal storage (which will put them on the sd-ext partition.) Should solve your problem.
As far as I know widgets have to be installed on internal memory

I moved all the applications that use widgets and the eidhets to the phone. Same problem. Thinking a full wipe..

Did You do a restart afterwards? Otherwise it is clear, that the widgets still don't show up....
Cheers
I've finally had enough of using Titanium backup to force apps to SD, and have decided to install A2SD+, but I have a question:
As I understand it, when using the standard Android Apps to SD, any apps put there will not automatically restart if I mount the SD card by USB. That's why some apps with Widgets, or those that run in the background can't be moved.
Does this happen with A2SD+? I intend to move apps like my email app to the SD and want to know if it will auto-restart if I use USB.
And is it possible to change what apps go to SD, or is it automatic or can it be overrided?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers.
